The device works fine in my computer
The device works fine in my computer, the only thing I don't like is that it doesn't include the setup configuration for dragon naturally speaking (that I believe is the software that works with it most of the time) but I haven't had the time to figure out how to get a configuration.

Big Difference in dictation quality
SpeechMikes are great. I had the last generation with Dragon and worked fine, this new unit improves dictation considerably. It's worth the extra $$$ for it's improved efficiency.

Good quality microphone
Like the other reviewers, we are using Dragon for a medical EMR. We purchased this Speechmike Pro III, and a PowerMic II. Of the two, we preferred the PowerMicII Despite the higher price, but only slightly. Both proved excellent microphones. These aren't good value, but if you need a high end mic, the SpeechMike will save you a few bucks (over the PowerMic) and get the job done well. The microphone, which is our main concern, is excellent. The quality of the dictation is noticeably improved using this microphone, compared to the standard Logitech microphone, or the headset that came with dragon. We have less errors, better accuracy, and the ability to hold a more substantial microphone, similar to a Dictaphone. As described in the other review, the mouse controls are touchy. The PowerMic was slightly better in this design (using a nub similar to an IBM laptop). That being said, if you're using a desktop, you should be definitely using the mouse. If using a laptop, you may prefer this to the trackpad, as a matter of preference.Fact is, if you're spending $300+ on a microphone you're a power user with a specific business use. This would never be cost effective for the student writing term papers, or to a casual user writing letters. If you need a high end microphone, however, this is an excellent choice. For the $100+ savings over the PowerMic, this does just fine.

Oldie but a goodie
We have been using this model in our practice for over 6 years. They are very robust and reliable.

SpeehMike Pro LFH3200
I use it for medical transcription. If I am thoughtful about what I am about to say the mike does a very good job at picking up my intent. It only gets tired if I do. Very comfortable to hold

Died in 5 months ------ No support
This microphone looks very solid and one would think you can get years worth of service...Not.Mine died in 5 months and then the hell began, there is no number for the support only a very creaky and almost deceptive email. box that has a box for the second line of street address and unless you fill it it does not go.Finally I have sent the email and waitingIt is also not a recommended microphone for the Dragon medical..I am not sure what is the alternative because nuance microphone is not that good either

Really works well
So much better accuracy than my headphones and at the same time so much easier to use. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that is an earlier generation device which I found used for a very good price. It's speeded up my use of Dragon Medical considerably.
