I have reviewed a Gorillapod flexible tripod before but not of this size. This is a sturdy bigger brother that is capable of holding a larger full size SLR camera. In my video I show a Canon 7D with a medium telephoto lens on it and the stand holds it perfectly. It securely held my camera and it can hold up to 6 ½ pounds. It is even good to hold action cameras into a solid and stable shooting position. The beauty of the tripod is that it is fast and easy to set up and easy to move to the next location.It comes with a ¼ inch to 3/8 inch threaded convertor for different sizes of camera mounts. In addition it came with a Polaroid 5 piece lens cleaning kit. Nothing is more frustrating than starting to take photos and realize that your lenses are dirty and you have nothing to clean them properly with. This is a nice set of cleaning accessory items to have with you just for backup.The stand is amazingly steady and strong. I mounted my Canon D7 camera and hung it sideways on a thin vertical post on a wooden deck and it hung there with ease with my heavy camera attached. I also mounted it onto the top rail of a deck. It is great for mounts like that and programing your camera to take a photo every few minutes of a party or volleyball game or to shoot a video. It provides a steady base to hold your camera in place and eliminate your hand motions.The legs have large red rubber balls on the bottom to hold the camera stable on a table top or any surface. Each section of the tripod's legs has a rubber O-ring going around it to firmly grip any surface that you wrap the tripod legs around. When you are done you just squeeze the legs together to re-straighten them and you can even carry your camera with the tripod. If you remove the tripod you can toss it into a camera bag or purse. It is 9 1/4 inches tall and it weighs 8 ¾ ounces.I liked the tripod a lot and it would be ideal for time elapse photography, multiple sequence photo shots or just setting the camera on a table at a party to shoot photos/video. The tripod is sturdy and well-made and it is highly portable. I rated the tripod as a 5 star item.I was supplied a sample for test and evaluation.
