Excellent Espresso
Excellent coffee pods that work perfectly with the Nescafé Dolce Gusto Genio S Plus. The quality of this coffee is excellent.

Cheaper than Nestle, but may not be to your taste
Other brands of coffee for Dolce Gusto machines tend to be more expensive than Nestle but Borbone are slightly cheaper. This would appear to be due to their design of pod, apparently their patent, so avoiding the need to pay a licence fee to Nestle. The coffee is a mixture presumably of Arabica and Robusta, and slightly more bitter than Nestle Lungo Decaf. In my Mini Me the Borbone pods gave no problems despite the different shape, provided I remembered to remove the seal first. The flow of coffee does take longer but this could mean the pressure is higher which should improve the quality. Whether you prefer this bland is a matter of taste; some may prefer a smoother flavour. One slight barrier to trying Barbone is that it only seems to be available in a six pack of 90 pods,,

Avoid
I really wanted to like this product, but it's not fit for purpose. It's not compatible with either of my Dolce Gusto machines. In spite of me carefully following the instructions (yes, I removed the red tab) it takes an age for the coffee to sputter it's way through the machine, the end product being somehow both watery and incredibly bitter. Then one of the pods exploded leaving my kitchen looking like a dirty protest, breaking the machine and invalidating the warranty in one fell swoop. The only thing it did efficiently. Now I have 5 bags of these useless pods left. The only use I can think of is to give them to people I don't like for Christmas.

Best Italian coffee for all

Very bitter
Our favourite capsules are usually Dolce Gusto Americano Intenso and Starbucks Americano.Thought we'd give these a try and went on to their official website to find out the intensity of each colour.I think the red ones were the 3rd strongest out of the four. The coffee comes out extremely slowly. You don't get much crema if any at all. It's certainly strong and does taste like coffee but it's very bitter and had a bit of a burnt taste.I have to add a bit more sugar to make it drinkable for me.It is a bit risky buying 90 capsules!I would probably try a different colour next time.

Great strong Proper Italiano Coffee
these are great. good, strong tasting coffee. They are quite slow to pour, but the pods seem to fit my De longhi dolce guato Jovi machine fine. Good value too.

Great potential but improvements to the manufacturing process urgently required
The coffee is generally a great tasting coffee, However, there are fundamental improvements that need to be made to the pods (see below):1. The liquid does take a long time to come out of the Borbone gold pods, when compared to the original Nescafe Gusto pods.2. Many of the Pods I have observed, are filled with too much air. Thus, I believe the excessive air is causing the liquid to splatter, which can be messy at times and the aforesaid is not very pleasant. It was also extremely disappointing that Amazon customer services wouldn't do more to assist in the circumstances. Rather, Amazon customer services asked a number of detailed questions, including (but not limited to), exactly how many coffee pods were effected, despite the fact that I ordered 3 boxes containing 6 x 15 pods (total of 270 per box), and it was wholly unreasonable to ask me if I could check each and every pod, whilst attempting to resolve the issue. I was also asked for pictures along with a handwritten note containing further details in accordance with their purported policy!I express strong disappointment that Amazon customer services failed to handle my compliant in an efficient manner, but rather made it more difficult and time consuming to attempt to find a reasonable resolution to the issue(s) as set out above.I would urge the manufacturer to improve their quality check standards and procedure, so consumers don't have to waste their time complaining. If anyone requires a video of me to demonstrate the flow issue (i.e. how long it takes for coffee to come out using the Caffè Borbone Coffee Gold Blend capsule, compared to using the Nescafe original pod, please let me know! Finally, my complaint about the capsules remains unresolved! Thanks.
