Wonderful chair!
I've delayed two years to write this review, because I wanted to be sure the negative claims weren't true. After two years of nearly daily use, my chair shows absolutely no signs of wear even though we live in southern Arizona. It's easier to get into and more comfortable than any of the three lounges I have in our back yard. Having alternative sitting positions helps immeasurably, since I often spend most of the daylight in the chair (I usually read a book a day) and it's very relaxing, one of the best buys I've made from Amazon. For the record, it's very sturdy. The mesh and the pillow are comfortable. I'm debating buying a second so I can have one in my patio and another under my ramada in the back yard, but we have a surplus of lawn furniture now, although I use the Strathmore chair almost exclusively. If and when I need another chair, this will be the one.

Great recline and definitely anti-gravity..
Hi all. This product really inclines well. I first thought about returning because I wanted a more wider one. Before I return it, I tried another brand that was wider and that one doesn't incline as well, so I decided to keep this and return the wider one. It is comfortable, eventhough I did wanted a little wider, but the inclining ability is unbeatable for this price. I have not been able to find one that inclines as well that is wide and this price level. So 2 out of 3 is not bad. If this was wider and still able to lock the position easily, I would give it 5 out of 5. Now I think about it, depending on your width, you may not want it to be too wide because, the incline is so good that you may want the ability to touch the locking measurements on both arm of the chair to lock it in place. It locks easily enough. However, if you can get it to lock easily with a wider chair, that would be great. I am thinking of getting a 2nd one to share when guest comes. If you have guest come to your backyard, they do like to use it. Although I keep it inside and use it both inside and outside.

Super Comfy
I got this chair for my Mom's birthday and was initially worried since she had back surgery and her spine is fused, making her unable to sit in certain chairs. Luckily, this one of the most comfortable outdoor chairs you'll ever sit in. If you have back problems, you can be safe in the knowledge that this chair is VERY back friendly. And if you don't have back problems, (like me) the chair is still one of the most comfortable I've ever sat in. The ability to recline and lock the chair is very easy and intuitive, making it a great way to relax in the sun. While a bit pricey, I definitely recommend this chair.

Comfy, but pretty scratched up...horrible packaging
I bought this chair for my pregnant wife to take on our lake vacation as there are no comfortable chairs at the place we stay. It arrived in a box barely larger than the folded chair and there was absolutely no packaging material in the box. The chair tubing was scuffed up and scratched pretty much everywhere, but it was still functional. I'm not convinced that the scratched were even from shipping given the location of some of them, which makes me think the chairs are coming from the manufacturer this way. At any rate, we were leaving in a couple days, so we couldn't return it and really just had to deal with it...like I said, it was still functional. So, we got to the cabin and set the chair up and it is very comfortable...my wife really liked it.I have mixed feelings about this chair because it's very comfortable and is actually a really nicely constructed chair. The only problem is the scratches and scuffs really detract from how nice the chair really is. If you're looking for a nice, sturdy, comfortable chair and don't care too much about cosmetic appearance, then this is for you. I wouldn't recommend this chair if you are looking for something with a nice finish.

Love the chair, hate the rust
These are great chairs, if you never take them outside, or let them get wet. Both of the ones I ordered rusted within three weeks (see pic posted in customer images), so I sent one back for a refund, and kept one.The reason I kept one is because I really do love the chairs, from the color, which is unique, and a perfect match for pool water, to the comfort, which is amazing. REALLY comfortable, and I personally had no problems with the locking mechanism (it IS very cheap plastic, though, so I doubt it will last more than a couple years if that).BUT, the rust...big problem. Obviously they didn't coat the hardware (screws and such), as these rust first. Next the metal to metal contact areas of the chair rusted (they just spray the powder coating on, so this is just a poor spray job, since it IS possible to get this right). This is a major problem since this is all along the frame, and immediately visible.Based on recent reviews vs. first reviews, I also believe Strathwood either changed manufacturers mid production, or the manufacturer themselves changed the process, or machinery...because the more recent reviews complain about rust quite often, but older reviews do not (and some of those even state they have left outdoors no problems).

Looks nice but doesn't last
Pros:-Sturdy metal construction-Comfortable - especially the headrest-Folds up easily-Doesn't feel like it would recline so far back as to kick you outCons:-Didn't make it even a year before webbing snapped (I weigh less than 175lbs and the chair isn't used a lot)-Faded badly. It'd be OK if it faded white, but it faded a dirty dingy yellow color, making it the least desirable chair of the group. If I could do it again, I'd buy something of better quality. Just doesn't hold up. It's led a fairly pampered life of storage and southern California climate. Can only imagine how bad it'd be had it experienced real temperature extremes.

Relaxing in Haiti
I am a missionary in northwest Haiti, and although I may live without a lot of the basic comforts, I thoroughly enjoy my gift of my Strathwood gravity lounge chair! It cam fully assembled, ready to enjoy and I immediately found I could easily take a nap in it! It is durable, easy to fold up and then reopen, but also useful as an extra chair as well as a great lounge chair. It has already become one of my favorite furniture items in Haiti!
