DaMai Crystal Clear Ice Cube Maker - Ice Ball Spherical Whiskey Tray Mould Maker(Cube)

Bought these for my husband for fathers day as he starting to get into his good quality whiskey and glasses. He attempted to mKe crystal clear ice balls using traditional methods but without successs. This is a simple but a great design that produces crystal clear ice balls every time. He is extremely happy and is currently making a stock pile in the freezer. Although will say for storing on freezer find something with curves and freeze or chill the container first or you will end up with flat bottom balls.

Works well. The ice balls are crystal clear due to the insulation when freezing and the impurities sinking. Fun, but a bit of a faff

Was sceptical that this would work, but it does. Well impressed.

These ice makers do exactly what they are supposed to do - make ice cubes/spheres that are totally clear and are relatively easy to use with minimal mess. A solid four stars, but I couldn't give five for the following reasons.1. Size - These are big and I have to remove the bottom shelf of my freezer to get them in. That's quite a lot of freezer space for four pieces of ice!2. Yield - These take 36 hours to fully free at the bottom of me freezer. After 24 hours, the cubes are not always fully formed so you have to start again. That means these will only yield 10 cubes a week so it takes a long time to build up to having a party! It's also worth noting that this takes a whole litre of water to make two cubes, most of which is wasted!3. Design - the cube tray isn't as well designed as the sphere one. On the sphere tray there are two 'dips' in the top part of the tray making it easy to fill them fully. The cube tray doesn't have this so I have found the only way to get them totally full is to top up with a glass AFTER they are in the freezer. If they are not 100% topped up, you end up with cubes with a hole in the top.4. Price - I don't think that they are bad value overall, but the price is quite high given the above limitations.It's worth noting the alternative - buy a small Coleman cool box (currently £10 on Amazon), remove the lid, fill with water and freeze for 24 hours. This has the same effect as these trays, but creates one huge block of ice that can then be cut into cubes. It's messier, and the cubes are never as perfectly shaped, but they are clear and you can produce about 20 each day rather than two...I've got both 'systems'. I keep going with these ones to produce the best cubes, and then get the Coleman going for a week or so before having people over.

I love this thing! It took a few goes to get it perfect but the results are awesome. It takes over the 30 hours recommended (around 36 hours in the bottom drawer of the freezer) but I'm really pleased with it. I want the diamond version next.

Thought the product was self contained electrically

Fantastic product! Easy to use, Crystal clear Ice every time. The diamond shape is fabulous. Love them

At the time of writing I have made 4 skulls or 2 sets. Both sets although the majority is clear ice there were certanly not without imperfections. On the first set one of the heads chipped and second set a chin chipped. I left both for 24 hours so I may leave it a bit longer to see if it improves. Also bits of the ice seemed to be slightly opaque and not fully clear as image would suggest. Definately goes well with a single malt but for 27 quid I am sure a standard ice cube works just as well, or perhaps a standard skull mold where you don't get clear ice but can pick the molds up alot cheaper.

Je n'achète jamais un produit sur Amazon qui n'a pas de commentaires. Dans ce cas j'ai fais une exception à la règle. Je ne suis pas déçu, bien au contraire. Ce moule à glaçon marche à merveille. Les glaçons sont parfaitement ronds et transparents, ce qui impressione systématiquement. Je fais bouillir l'eau que je laisse tiédir avant de la verser délicatement dans le moule pour ne pas introduire de micro bulles d'air. Je ne peux que recommander cet article. Aucun point négatif.
