Very good bag with a few minor design issues.
Overall, it's pretty well made. I used this bag for about a year (averaging about 3 games a week) and I've never been particularly gentle with it. I love the number of pockets, and the shoe compartment fit my size 9 (men's) cleats pretty well. The velcro for strapping bats into place was a terrible idea, and the mesh side pockets weren't sewn on well. The vented shoe pocket only sort of works - think there's not really enough airflow. The handle and straps are great, though, and the overall design is well thought out.Pros:The front pocket is perfect for storing random stuff - I had sunglasses, pencils, sunscreen, and other miscellaneous items in there. The cell phone pocket is nice, and I usually also put my wallet and chapstick in there with my phone.Love the fence hook, and the handle and straps were really well made. Also, the reinforced bottom was a nice touch.Main compartment is spacious - large enough for two gloves (with softball stored inside), and a divider stitched along the back panel was a perfect spot for my clipboards. I don't have a helmet, but if I did it would probably fit if I removed one of the gloves.Cons:I didn't like the fact that the shoe area was just a nylon pocket sewn into the bottom, extending into the main compartment without being integrated into the front or back of the main compartment. Because it just extends into the compartment, stuff can fall in front of or behind the shoe pocket, which gets annoying and can lead to stuff falling out when you unzip the bag.The mesh pockets on the side weren't attached well. I usually kept a bat in one and a bottle in the other, and within a week or two the stitching was pulling away. I was able to repair it myself, but I shouldn't have had to.The velcro for holding the bats in place simply doesn't work well. It might at first, but with baseball clay and general use, they only provide a weak hold after a short while - So don't lean over while wearing this pack, unless you want the handle of your bat to smack you in the back of the head.Tips:To keep the shape of the shoe pocket, I found a plastic shoebox and stuffed it in there, which seemed to work alright. This also improved the airflow in the pocket a bit (I think the nylon liner previously smothered the shoes, defeating the purpose of the integrated vent. Still, I didn't like that stuff in the main compartment could fall in front of or behind the shoe pocket - I felt this was a bit of a design flaw, though it merely amounted to an inconvenience. The velcro straps to hold the bat could probably be replaced with just a minor amount of sewing. Elastic bands would be a fine fix.I eventually replaced my bag with the DeMarini VooDoo Paradox Backpack, Navy , which has been a modest upgrade. On the new bag, the neoprene bat sleeves are awesome. The water bottle pocket is suffering the same issues as the mesh pockets on this bag. And unfortunately, they removed the large front pocket to make room for the shoe compartment. The shoe compartment is improved, but I miss my front pocket. I put a small bag inside my bag to hold the random stuff, but it's just not quite as nice. Also missing is the nylon divider in the main compartment, though that hasn't been a major loss.Overall, I'd say if you're carrying bats, either buy the VooDoo or plan to modify this one. If you aren't carrying bats, this one has a better pocket layout.

Bigger and Better
This is a great bag. Just got it today, I looked for something affordable that will hold helmet, bats, glove, batting gloves and player hat, like we had been putting in my son's (8) duffel style bat bag. That one was the basic Easton one that Walmart sells for 15 bucks and is a great starter bag, but helmet fit in those is a bit tight. The bottom where the bat heads go has a few holes now after a season of spring ball and then summer ball last year, so it was time for a new one. This DeMarini (Wilson) bag totally fit the bill at $33.change and fits all of his gear and then some. It's got a zipper pouch with the fence hook in it so it can be stored away and not catch on anything. Another small pouch near that for batting gloves. The main area fits his helmet and glove, and has plenty more room for a sweatshirt or windbreaker. Helmet and glove will fit separately, but it's a no-brainer to put the helmet in top-down with the glove inside it, which frees up half of the compartment. There's even a front pouch about the size of a 7" Kindle/tablet that I can put my phone, wallet and keys in while I'm coaching his team. It holds two bats on the sides (or one and a water bottle), has adjustable shoulder straps and fits like a backpack. There is even a vented pocket at the bottom in front to put his cleats in, and they should fit without a problem (size 1).Some reviews say it was difficult to get cleats in, and I haven't tried yet, but it appears that we shouldn't have any difficulty. Considering cleats have spikes on them common sense says lay the pack on its back and use your hands to work the cleat pocket open first and then don't just try to jam them in there as they'll catch on the material and make it difficult.Material seems to be good quality, and as it says in the description it looks like it will keep everything dry inside in light rain.I bought it on Sunday, received it today thanks to Prime and I'm sure my boy will love it once I bring it home this afternoon. I'm hoping we can at least get 2-3 years out of it and I'd buy the same thing again in a heartbeat. I would think it should be fine for kids up to 12 years old.All in all, after reading all the reviews and questions on this bag, it is bigger and better than I expected it to be for the price, which is a steal.

Love the fence hook and cell phone pocket.
I ordered this item after our standard type baseball bags zipper broke because of the batting helmet being too large. I ordered on Amazon because it was cheaper than the bag at Walmart and had good reviews. This bag is awesome and is well worth the money. I was able to fit my son's batting helmet with facemask, 2 gloves and his dugout buddy (a plastic caddy that hangs on the fence and holds his supplies). The items go in with room to spare-so he can pack his own bag at the end of practice. His bats (one wood, one metal) fit on the sides without making the bag cock to one side. I like that there is a padded cell phone pocket so I can drop in my phone and keys. There is also a small zipper pocket that the hook comes out of to hang of the fence, then you can conveniently zip the hook back up so it doesn't snag on other things in the trunk of the car. The cleat pocket takes up space within the bag, so we chose not to use it(he usually wears his cleats to practice anyway). If you try to carry adult cleats, this bag could be a tight fit with all the other items. The straps are padded and very comfortable. This bag looks huge (but manageable) on my 6 year old but fits myself and my husband fine.

4 STARS - Definitely Above Average
I loved this backpack for while it lasted. I'm a backpack girl and I used this for the gym, and sleepover nights, and trips everything but for baseball/softball. I love how many pockets it has, the design of the pockets. And I also love how light the backpack itself is. It lasted me just over a year before it started tearing, so the stitching work could be improved. The inner parts of the bag also starred tearing off. Been trying to other another one but noticed they've produced new designs and discontinued this exact one. The newer versions don't have the same pockets as does my owned version; again, heartbreak! So now I have to look for other brands. But in all, this is a really nice backpack and I would get it again regardless- if it was available.
