KHOMO iPad Mini 1 2 3 Case - Dual Series - Ultra Slim Gold Cover with Auto Sleep Wake Feature for Apple iPad Mini 1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation

I bought this case to replace my Apple case of the same basic design. I am absolutely delighted with this new case! My iPad mini Retina was literally falling out of the Apple case since the leather loosened over time. The Khomo case snaps over the edges of the iPad and holds it securely, while the apple case had relied on the corners holding it. The fit is tight and absolutely perfect. I really like the hinge design. The apple case had a pinched leather hinge which always poked my hand and never let the cover lay flat when closed. This hinge wraps around the side and looks, feels, and works much better than the Apple case's. Even without the extra magnet the apple case has to "hold" the cover in a triangle position for standing it up, this cover works better and stays up with no issues due to the hinge center being much further back. Overall a great purchase and highly recommended.

I just got this for my new iPad Mini 4 and love it. Was going to wait and buy the leather one Apple has sold for other iPads (my wife has a leather one on her Air 2). As of today, Apple still doesn't have one, so I bought this. MUCH cheaper and better.It fits perfectly and snugly. So snug, I had to really work to get it out of the case. I was afraid I might bend the iPad!The cover, when closing, turned off th screen which I like. This case will clearly protect it from scratches and every day wear and tear.The thing I really like is how they handle the two "speakers" on the iPads bottom edge. Instead of cutting a slot or holes in the case, they fashioned a gap between the case and the bottom edge of the iPad to throw the sound out towards the user as they face the iPad. I attempted to take a picture of these two gaps and will post it with this review. Hopefully that will make it clearer what I am trying to describe. I have circled in red these two gaps where the sound now comes out of.

I love this iPad case. I bought a similar one for my iPad mini four years ago and was looking for the same thing for my new iPad mini 5. It fits perfectly and works like it's supposed to. I really like that the magnets keep the top cover closed, even when I hold the iPad upside down. The cutouts for all the buttons and speakers are in the right place. I don't know how much the case would protect my iPad if I dropped it from a great height, but I don't plan to do that. For my purposes, it's perfect. I also love the blue color. I got the mint one and I was hoping it wasn't too minty and greenish looking. It's more blue and looks like a dark aqua or light turquoise. The only thing I would wish for is more color choices.

I'm extremely picky when it comes to cases and screen protectors for my electronic devices and so I devote an ample amount of time debating between different products. I am a college student who'll be using the iPad on a daily basis so I wanted something that was lightweight and durable. I usually am one to follow to flock so I tend to go with the most highly rated product there is. There were only 5 reviews (this being the 6th) when I purchased this product, but despite such little feedback, I decided to go and gamble my $12.99. If you're looking for a case that covers BOTH the front and the back of your iPad Mini, is consistent in coloring (meaning the case that holds the back is the same as the flap that covers the front - NOT black or white), adds absolutely no bulk to the streamlined device, holds it well, sleeps/wakes your iPad for you, and has the most precise holes for the speakers, volume dock, camera, etc. then look no further because this product is for you. Apple has yet to come out with a smart case for the iPad Mini but you can get the same function and security for a lot less. Although it took a while for it to get shipped (I didn't realize it was out of stock when I made the purchase), I am very satisfied with this product and I believe that this is definitely worth people's money.

I ordered this as a replacement for the original KHOMO case I purchased two years ago when I first got my Mini iPad. I loved the original case and replaced it only because my repeated use had frayed the edge of the cover and had begun to seriously separate, exposing the magnet inside. To make sure I got the same cover, I used the "order again" feature from my Amazon order history, changing only the color (from red to blue). But this cover is not at all like the other. First, instead of a smooth finish, it has a pattern etched into the material that I can only imagine will collect dirt and grime as it is used over and over. There was no indication in the description of the product that this unwanted texture would be the consequence of a color change. However, the most disappointing feature is the lack of a magnet to hold the cover closed. The strength and reliability of the magnet was the #1 reason I purchased the exact same product I purchased two years ago, even though the cover was a few dollars more than other similar available products. I am SO disappointed in my new purchase that I actually retrieved my original cover from the trash bin and am using it -- frayed and split edges and all -- instead of the new cover. Now I'm wondering to myself: shouldn't that original cover have lasted more than 2 years in the first place?

Snug fit with all the openings in precisely the right place.Lid/cover works perfectly for 'wake/sleep' function. Folds fully flat on back if you don't need to use it as a stand.The back is not quite as non-slip as I was hoping but it is far less slippery than the ipad mini itself. The front is quite a good non-slip so I'm getting into the habit of putting it face down on the arm of our leather settee and chairs where it stays-put.Nice stylish carbon fiber/fibre design that looks good quality on my new iPad Mini 5.

I've been really picky about the spec I wanted for my iPad mini (Gen1) and finally (after having tried so many others) found the ideal case. It has a full but very thin back case with full edges (with cutouts for all the buttons, jacks etc.) and the front cover is a Smart one (uses auto sleep/wake) function. The front cover, which is really thin but strong, is made up of three sections that fold and roll. This provides a great handle, just the right size for my hands, or a very sturdy stand for watching landscape orientation. The inside of the front cover is like a cross between pseudo suede and soft felt, to protect the screen. The feel of the outer is very smooth but soft not really like rubber, but still easy to keep clean and although I initially wanted leather, this is much nicer to handle. Just slipped my iPad mini in snugly and auto wake/sleep function worked immediately. Effortless, sleek, sturdy and high quality all for about £10.

So far so good; I've had it less than a year. I didn't like the range of colours, so decided on lilac, rather than a lovely light green. However, no advice on how to remove marks, so there are some marks on it now. I would have preferred a darker mauve that wouldn't have shown the marks, but didn't want a dark colour.

This is a sturdy case which I think will protect my iPad for a long time. It's made of good quality materials and fits perfectly. I like that the front cover is attached to the back cover, as previous cases I've had have either clipped in or flipped off due to weak magnets attaching the front flap.Edit: This case is still going strong, months later. It’s so good that four other family members have asked me to purchase one for them, which are all still going strong too. Will never buy another iPad case brand again!Further edit: 17 months later...it’s still in as good condition as it was when it arrived, even with daily use and use while travelling quite often. The best case I’ve ever had.

We bought this for an older iPad mini with retina display (iPad mini 2). The fit and cutouts were perfect and unlike some of the other reviews highlighted the magnetic closer seemed to hold firm even when the iPad was held screen down and shaken a little. The open/ close wakeup/ standby works fine as well. The build quality on this is very good. Is it as good as the original Apple branded version...probably not but the difference in price makes any compromises on the quality front (which are virtually non existent from what I can see so far) worth making.The only slight downside (and reason for 1 star deduction) is that if you use charging stands (like the Belkin express dock) you will need to take the device out of the cover.
