I bought this to mount my Note 9 in my Toyota Corolla. I prefer portrait and other mounts put it too high above the dash. It is metal and seems very sturdy. The clip for the vent is longer than other's I have seen and actually closes together at the end. Seems like it holds well and when you tighten the nut on the ball the holder stays in position well even with a heavy phone in it.What I like best is the clever mechanism. You slide the phone in from the top and the weight of the phone pulls the side pieces in to grab it. Works well. When you want to remove the phone you just slide it out of the top. Seems to be an excellent design.None of these vent mount phone holders are all that sturdy mostly because the car vents are not that sturdy. This holds my phone well for use with Google maps and directions. It would not work for me if I had to use my finger to interact with the phone because I would have to hold the phone steady with one hand. Since I mostly interact with the phone by voice (can you say "OK Google") it works well for me.

Just purchased the iPhone 11 Pro Max and was looking for a sturdy mount. Bought an inexpensive model from another site and greatly disappointed. The unit was nice but did not secure the phone as the curve grab bars were to straight. This model was a vast improvement. Easy to secure on the air vent (Mercedes GLE 43 AMG), position and ease of use is simply a drop-in. The side bars holding the unit wrap around securely and enough room to hold thick cases (e.g., wallet type). No longer do I need to place the phone in the center console and can now place in perfect view next to the GPS. The other advantage is that I can connect the USB cable for Car Play. Bottom line is that I would recommend to a friend and purchase again. BTW fit and finish is impressive in piano black.

My original review noted issues with the holder staying attached to the vent. The seller contacted my through Amazon and offered to send an alternative vent clip. That product was sent free of charge and with fast shipping. The new clip works perfectly. It is a great design and I would say that it is the best vent clip design on the market. With great customer service and a great solution, I am upgrading to 5 stars.For about a month, this product worked well. However, thereafter, it no longer will stay attached to the vent fin. I have reattached it multiple times and have tightened it as tight as I can without risking breaking it. The clamp that grips the vent fin is hard and smooth. It is not hard plastic, but it has very little flexibility. As such, when you place or remove your phone, or when you hit a bump, the clamp does not keep its grip and the entire unit will fall off after a few days. If you reattach, it works well for a few days, but then falls off. I use it on a 2018 Ford F150 which has the correct type of vent that this is intended to work with. Other than it not staying attached to the vent, it is great. Unfortunately, it falls off frequently when you are driving.

Does the job, single hand operation.The mechanism to hold it to the air vent is easy to setup and holds in place; however, the quality of the product is cheap making it feel flimsy. Have not fall into a pot hole while driving yet so I don't know if it will hold the phone strong enough to avoid it from falling. Despite the quality, I'm happy with the product.

Steady, well designed and thought out, can be mounted and dismounted without leaving any residual or damage to the dash.I mounted this on the top frame on the air vent of my car instead of on the louvers to provide a more sturdy hold and prevent vibrate from potentially damaging the louver, the clamp holds onto the frame as well as the louvers. There are also adjustments for how tight the mount can be rotated around its pivot head, all in all a good product. The holding mechanical for the phone is made of metal with a smooth glide mechanism, everything just works right on this.The only improvement COULD be to allow this thing to be rotatable to allow both vertical and horizontal orientation, but then I don't know how the gravity fed drop hold would work if the mount is rotated 90 degrees, but one can wish and hope...

Not a bad product design but definitely a few cons:1. Couldn't turn on side2. when there wasn't a phone in place, the holder would rattle and make noise (not alot but still noticeable)3. The clip grip failed after 5 months and it couldn't hold up when i put the phone on it. (i had it on a vertical vent so that may be why it gave out so quickly).Pros:1. easy to install2. held the phone in really well3. easy to use (took me literally a second to put in and take out.overall i wouldn't buy again.

I will start off by saying that his product DOES WORK. It is very well made, and works as designed. HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT FIT A PHONE WITH A CASE. When I removed my rather thin case, my phone fit perfectly. However, because I use a case when I'm out and about, and this holder is designed for use in a car, this is a big enough drawback for me to not use this holder again.I would highly recommend this product for those who don't use a phone case or those who don't mind removing their case every time they use this holder.If you use a case like I do, THEN THIS PRODUCT IS DEFINITELY NOT FOR YOU.
