Elkton Outdoors Steelhead Fishing Kayak, Inflatable Touring, Angler, Includes Paddle, Hard Mounting Points, Bungee Storage

I spent quite some time researching the various brands, pricing, comparing, etc., and while this one was on the more pricier side, it is *exactly* the style, quality and durability I was looking for. I received it (in a remote location) within a few days of ordering and from opening the box to assembly (comes with everything including pump), inflation and packing my goodies for the first use took all of about 20 minutes. This kayak is solid, sturdy and has all the space I need for carrying supplies for fishing or just for fun (or taking the family pet for a ride!) on the water. To the manufacturer - VERY WELL DONE!!I couldn't recommend this product any higher. If your looking for a great, multi-purpose inflatable kayak, spend a little extra and get one you'll always be happy to take out on the water.

This is a very well made and stable kayak. At 6'3/218lbs I have tried several inflatable kayaks that were just not comfortable. I needed a kayak with leg room (38" inseam)! This kayak has ample leg room and is very comfortable. Plenty of storage for my food, drink and tackle. Only thing I need to change is to get myself a gel seat cushion as after a couple hours my butt goes to sleep. It deflates completely and easily and packs up into a relatively small package. Very important as I pull a 5th wheel RV and space is critical. Easy to clean up as the center bladder is completely removable and the drain plugs easily get rid of accumulated water. Very tough pvc bladders, I just spent 8 days kayaking in submerged timber and rocky shorelines. Numerous bumps into object and not one mark to show for it. While this is a rather expensive kayak, it looks to be very worth it as I hopefully will get many years of use out of it.

After a decent amount of researching inflatable fishing kayaks I decided to go with this one despite the limited number of reviews due to it's price point, non inflatable locked-in seating, multiple hard mounting points, inflatable floor able to handle standing and large enough for two people. On first try it was awesome. Definitely hit my expectations. The only issue I had was the manual doesn't give any explanation for how to properly use the hard mounting points. I bought a generic scotty mount from bass pro shop which fit perfectly except the screws ended up piercing through the bottom rendering that entire side of the kayak flaccid after being removed. To help you out the depth of the screw holes without a mount is 3/8th inch and 1/4 in thickness. With the scotty mount present it becomes 5/8th inch deep. I spoke with Elkton customer service regarding this flaw and they were extremely helpful! It must have been a manufacturing defect so they sent me an entire new kayak! I cant tell you how hard it is to find a company that actually seems to care and stands by their product. They called and sent email confirmations. I would totally buy Elkton products just for their supreme customer service. Just be aware you might have to double check some aspects of the kayak yourself as the manual didn't have much explanation beyond how to inflate and deflate.

This kayak has several spots where you can add accessories. The problem is there are no accessories supplied by Elkton. They refer you to Scotty but I ordered a fishing rod holder but they gave me pointed screws (wood screws) for an inflatable kayak. Not quite relevant. There is a cup holder available from Scotty but it doesn't fit. If Elkton wants to sell this kayak then support and sell the accessories to fulfill the potential. Don't just pass it on to Scotty who knows little about the kayak.

This kayak is exactly what I was looking for but it was shipped with major dents or scratches. If it was just one or two maybe it wouldn't be so bad but it has 7 dents that nearly penetrate the exterior. I am actually afraid to put it into the river in case one of the 7 dents split. The box it came in had no visible dents so it must have been a packing issue.

This is a great quality kayak. The two seats are very adjustable and comfortable. The kayak tracks very well and glides through the water very nicely with a front and rear skag. I bought a couple of Scotty fishing pole holders which attached to the kayak mounts nicely and work well for me. I’ve only had the kayak out on lakes and one class 1 rapids river and it performed very well. It’s very maneuverable and I’ll be comfortable taking in bigger rapids. It has lots of drains that can be used for draining water taken on if kayaking in rougher conditions. It has two side inflation chambers and a removable central floor chamber that is sturdy like a stand up paddle board. It comes with two paddles that can be broken down, a decent backpack style carrier, a dual action pump, 2 nice high back seats, and 2 adjustable foot rests. We’ve only had the kayak for about a month, but so far we are very happy with it.

I have only had it out once so far. I have another inflatable kayak, this one so far performs better. It is higher pressure, so is more rigid, supports paddler very will. It tracks better than other inflatables I have used. Seating position is very comfortable. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Excellent quality kayak. Pumping up and deflating is much quicker than I expected and the kayak itself tracks pretty well.Very comfortable for one person to sit in and fish.
