Flimsy, but it works fine.
The rubber on this seal is a bit flimsy and it is too thin to stay in the groove by itself. Fortunately I had some Ultra Black gasket sealer, so I lined the pathway and put the seal in. No leaks so far, and I don't anticipate any trouble.

Slipped through quality control defective...
The seal was fine, but the o-ring brand or its manufacturing was a fail! Big time.ASE Master Tech x 30+ years, probably have replaced nearly 100 timing belt kits on these Toyota engines. Pack the o-ring groove with synthetic lube, gently set the o-ring in place, light finger presses all around it and on with the pump.Never, ever had one leak.This o-ring looked ring, but had developed a “set” and would not lay down its groove. Heated it, rolled it up, stretched it a little even, all without success. Just as it was about to set in, another corner lifts out. Over and over and over.Thought I might have got lucky, re-assembled everything but was greeted with a small river of oil from it. Bought a new o- ring at the zone next day, Fel pro brand, greased the groove, set the o-ring in place and perfect. Just as I expected and was accustomed to.I know sometimes sh*t happens.At least the customer was understanding...

Dorman 82572 oil pump cover kit for Toyota
I bought this to fit my sons 1996 Toyota Camry. No matter what i tried to get the Gasket to stay in place it would not. The seal went in okay at least i hope.Haven't seen any leaks. I tried stretching the oil ring gasket ,but no luck. Finally went up to local Carquest and bought a different one at lower cost and different brand . Went in like it should have. I might have just gotten a bad one.

Part worked
Seal seemed to be slightly too small and kept rolling out of groove it was supposed to stay in. I eventually got it to stay flat long enough to put everything together but it shouldn't have been that hard.
