I purchased this fire kit and put it to use Labor Day weekend. The leather pouch is very good quality perfect for holding a nice bit of tinder. The paracord bracelet is fine. The only problem I had was the ferro rod. The handle came loose after a dozen or so strikes. I contacted Texas Bushcraft customer service and told them what happened. They explained that they were getting more in with stronger glue and that would hopefully fix the problem. They then created an order for an entire fire kit for me and shipped it out free of charge. Outstanding customer service in my book.

Can't say anything negative about this item at all because it is exactly as it is advertised. Great quality and craftsmanship. I stuffed it with all kinds of extra fire making items that I couldn't fit it all inside the pouch. Guess I was a bit excessive in my redundancies of firestarters. I would like to ask for a new model that is bigger and deeper for all my fire making goodies but other than that it's fantastic.

Well made survival items. First of the Ferro rod and handle are nicely proportioned to fit your hand well. Second the striker is of good build quality strong and highly functional yet not cheap and flimsy. The paracord bracelet is like everyone else’s-functional. The bag seems to be high quality cowhide will function as a knife sharpener for survival situation if needed.

I bought this with the sole interest in the draw string bag and ferro rod/striker. The most understated quality about this set, is it’s all done with what they call “Firecraft Cord”. It was my intention to add that specific cordage to this set. But to realize it is ALL made with this emergency paracord already was a delight surprise! I have used this paracord on multiple occasions and if done correctly, it is very effective in fire craft. I’m a Texas and happy and proud this is a local company. Great quality on all items and definitely worth value. Thank you.

The leather for the kindling bag is genuine and smells wonderful. Real leather! Fire starter is top notch too. Was only disappointed by the parachord bracelet. The nature of a a size with such large range makes it too large and uncomfortable for me. Perhaps a smaller size would work better, but my wrist was in the small end of the range.

I really like this kit. I keep it in my computer bag so I will have it with me most of the time when I'm traveling in my work truck.
