So worth it! Perfect solid etch! Not blotchy!
REVIEW REVISION: (a day later)I completed my wedding favor project without issue. However when I began the centerpieces, I did have an issue. I applied my vinyl stencil as usual, used painters tape to protect areas I don’t want etched. Well, I think the fumes from this product actually etched! I’m etching hurricane vases which are fluted at the top. I have etched 5 of the 15 I need and all 5 I can not use! I do not know what happened if it was not the fumes. To be honest, I didn’t smell any fumes. But something happened, look at pics. It only happened at the top, the fluted area. You can see that there’s no marks prior to etching. They were washed and allowed to dry before applying the adhesive vinyl and painters tape and cream. So frustrating! These particular hurricanes have been discontinued! I can purchase similar ones they’re just significantly narrower and an inch taller. But I’ve just lost $75 worth of hurricanes and a days worth of work! I’m going to try to finish the other 10 tomorrow but I’m going to leave them laying down instead of standing upright this time. Uuggghhh! I hope it works! The cream works wonderfully but....use caution so you don’t loose money and time and save yourself some frustration! Silhouette America, if you read this, can the fumes actually etch?Original review:I’m reviewing this etch cream from the starter kit. I’ve purchased it a while back, may be a year or more ago. I finally had a reason to use it. I’m doing votive candle holders as wedding favors for my sons wedding, 96 pieces. I was unsure of this product when I opened it. It seemed like they pour hot wax on top of the cream so as to create a better seal to prevent leakage. Nothing was stated on the label. I wasn’t sure that was the case, still not, but I pierced it with the silhouette weeding hook and pulled it out. The cream was watery at first and somewhat chunky. I stirred it then I proceeded to do a sample of my project. It worked fantastically! See first pic. You do not have to leave it on very long. I had gotten 1/2 way through about 45-50 pieces, I ran out of the etching cream. We just dabbed it on, kind of sparingly. Then within a minute or so rinsed them off. Beautiful! I didn’t scrape the cream off bc I was etching delicate font. On the sample, I lost the inside of the a, o, 9 and 0. So I decide not to scrape the cream and put back into bottle to reuse. We just rinsed they off. Silhouette brand is not sold in local craft stores near me. So we purchased the Amour Etch. It did not work anywhere near as good as silhouette! See pics. The etch from silhouettes brand was a solid looking full coverage etch. The armour etch says to leave on for 15 mins. As you can see in the pics it barely etched in 15 mins. The last pic is armour etch after being left on, scraped off, reapplied several times for an hour!!! You can see it is very blotchy, not a solid full coverage etch. SILHOUETTE brand is 1000% better. I had 90 pieces to do, there’s no way I’d want to go through that process for hours!! So I’ve irdered more silhouette etching cream. I put the rest of the project on hold until the cream arrives. Don’t waste your time buy Silhouettes etching cream, it’s so worth the cost, and your reputation and sanity!

Easy to use
Arrived fast. Worked great on dollar store glasses. Didn't work to well on more expensive glasses. But I'm also new to etching cream so I may be doing something wrong.

Liquidy and hard to mix
It works fine, but its too liquidy. Have messed up a lot of projects because it runs a lot, even with covering the whole glass in tape it managed to mess it up. I had a hard time mixing it because it was rock solid on the bottom; be sure to wear gloves, protective eyewear and a mask , and be in a ventilated when working with it.

All chunky
I purchased several bottles of this for a large project, and left them in the protective zip-lock plastic in order to keep them fresh. But when I went to use it I found that all the bottles were similarly chunky and impossible to use. I went to our local Michael's and shook each bottle before purchasing it to see if I could hear if it sounded like liquid; and on some bottles you could tell that some of the contents had seeped around the bottom of the bottle cap - you don't want those because it is probably an indication that the cap wasn't tight or something and the contents have likely dried. The product itself works fine, just that it's a bit risky to purchase this online as you just don't know how old it is.

Totally Recommend!
A must have product for your etching activity. Following directions results in expected results. This was my first attempt at etching glassware (or anything for that matter). I found that reading the directions and following those directions was essential and results were good. This product met my expectations and I would have no problem buying from this seller again.

Bought and set aside, but started leaking before I could use. Guess I should have used as soon as I purchased.

Do not buy online.
The media could not be loaded. I’m sure that the cream works fine when you get a good bottle. This is the replacement bottle o received for my order. The first bottle I received the same way. L the videos and everything I have seen shows it to be a thick cream. This as you can tell is more of a very thin watery substance. They responded to my first message by replacing the bottle. No response on the second message. I would recommend going somewhere local to buy. At least there you can shake the bottle and be able to tell if it is the right viscosity.

Easy to use. Works quickly
Works great! First time using etching cream so I was nervous but it’s pretty fool proof. Just make sure you cover up the whole areas you don’t want etched!

Vraiment bluffant !
