The Osprey Nova laptop backpack gets the same attention to detail as our most technical packs. The Nebula daypack offers durable fabrics and contemporary aesthetics in a comfortable package for everyday use. It also has travel friendly features such as the TSA airport approved laptop sleeve that can fit up to a 15" laptop along with a padded, zippered tablet sleeve. The front panel organization pocket keeps all your small items handy while the large main compartment has plenty of room for all your essentials. Additionally, dual stretch mesh water bottle pockets make sure you stay hydrated for a busy day on the go while the internal organization helps keep things organized. While there are upper side compression straps to keep your pack streamlined, you can tuck them away in the hidden garage pocket when not in use. It can also be used as a bike commuter pack with the blinker light attachment and a heat embossed scratch-free slash pocket for your sunglasses.

Does NOT fit 17 inch laptop (or my 15.6 inch laptop)
One of the reasons I chose this specific pack was because it specifically states it will fit a 17 inch laptop. I have a 15.6 inch HP notebook, but, it does have a slightly larger bezel on it, so, I am often concerned about it fitting in 'standard 15 inch laptop compartments. I assumed that it should be no issue to fit in one designed for a 17 inch laptop. Well -- it 'technically fits. It fits in the middle, but, the corners protrude. If I pull very hard, I am able to get the fabric around the corners. But, there is no padding there, and, it seems that this pushing would wear the fabric very quickly, in addition to the fact that it leaves the top corners very vulnerable. I also have seen where TSA still requires everyone to remove their laptop, and, it is VERY difficult to get this in and out of the compartment easily -- also a nuisance if you will be pulling it out and putting it back frequently.I have no idea how a true 17 inch laptop would fit. I looked up the dimensions of some common 17 inch laptops and they are all longer than mine. For reference, my actual exterior dimension (ie: case) is 15.13 inches for the W. A 17 inch macbook pro is 15.47, and, that is probably one of the slimmer profiles for a 17 inch -- most are larger than that. There were a few other things that disappointed as well:1) It was not clear to me from the pictures that they have removed the bottom level of organizers in the admin panel. There are now only the 3 pouches. I am not sure why they chose this, but I personally would like more organizational pockets.2) The "Juneberry purple" color is really more of a navy blue. It is very dark in the pictures, so, hard to tell. But, everyone I asked described it as navy --I had been hoping for more of a very dark purple, but, it doesn't present that way. The color is still nice -- just be aware. The pack does seem well made -- but, the fact that my laptop doesn't fit is a dealbreaker, so, it will be going back.As a note -- If the description did not specifically state it would fit 17 inch laptops, I would not have detracted so many stars. As that was a specific selling point for me, and, since all the material clearly states it will fit them, I feel it is fair to consider this a major disappointment.

If you were to only get one all-purpose backpack, this is it.
So far, I really like this backpack. I use it for short trips and commute (I own the tempest 20 for hiking and the Fairview 40 for long trips). The laptop pocket is super useful and I love the little stash pocket for smaller things in the front. The front mesh pocket has a small lip to prevent things from falling out. I do wish the mesh pocket had a clasp to keep it shut or some kind of buckle (as they did on the previous model). It fits under the airplane seat if you do not overstuff it. If you use the compression straps, it is very difficult to open the backpack (good thing when traveling and deterring pickpockets. Bad for ease of access.) I wish all the pockets had double zippers but they do not. Only the main compartment and laptop compartment have double zips. I wish the hip belt were a little thicker to offer more back support like their hiking backpack series—having said that, it has way better support than most other packs. There are two mesh water bottle pockets on either side of the pack. It can be difficult to take your bottle in and out repeatedly due to the compression straps, though normally, it isn’t a big deal.Overall though, I’d recommend this as an all-around good backpack. (Note: I’m 5’2” and so the backpack is a bit large for my torso length/frame but is not a huge con)

Great for airline carry on for weekend or business travel
My 15" Macbook Pro fits like a glove in the laptop section and I still have my snap on case on the computer. I can also fit my kindle, work papers, and then all of my carry on electronic cords and medicine etc... I havent added a few sets of clothes but I think I can fit that in there too for a weekend. If I dont need all that room then the cinch straps are awesome! I rolled up a long sleeve light pull over into the stretch sleeve on the outside and then cinched my neck pillow through the straps. I could add a water bottle and then put it all on my back, adjust the straps and at 5'2" it fits really well and it isnt too long and doesnt rub on my neck at all. The waist straps could be better (as explained in other reviews) and I dont like that the extra front compartment doesnt have dual zipper pulls. I think this will work out very well for me and will be comfortable to carry on trips through airports and sight seeing.

Fantastic Pack for Women
This pack has an outstanding design and many features that make it my go to pack. I am working and traveling in Southeast Asia for two months and I use the pack daily. It has well designed pockets for carrying personal and work related items. I can take two water bottles, which are necessary when working near the equator. The pack has been my daily companion. This includes van and train rides, site seeing in ancient ruins and dusty walks. it never looks dirty or worn. It also fits me well. I am short 5'3" and small boned so the structure of the pack works very well even when carried for several hours.

Comfortable, roomy pack
Needed something bigger than what I previously had (27L - The North Face Jester). I use this as a commuting bag - I'm a medical professional. Fits laptop, notebook, well. Room for a change of clothes or two. Can fit a pair of shoes as well but it's tight. Wish it had more organization options in the front pocket and the zipper issue is annoying, but tolerable. It is comfortable, even when full. I also appreciate the bag is not front-heavy and mostly resists tipping over when full. It is on the large size, but that is the reason I purchased this backpack.

Good laptop backpack but heavy
I ordered this pack in the juneberry and its a wonderful dark purple, almost navy, almost black. The pack is much heavier than I expected at 2.5lbs and has so much padding to protect a laptop. I sent it back because I was looking for a travel pack that was big but not heavy and bulky. I'm looking at the Questa which ways almost 1lb less but is also only 26L vs the 32L of the Nova.

Excellent quality product
Very pratical for students or workers. Lots of accessible pockets to organise your stuff. Phone pockets, key chain, side pockets for water bottles. Laptop fits easily. Very good back support.

Great pack- would recommend
I don’t like that the straps always dangle about but I love everything about the backpack otherwise. Went on a weeks vacation and managed to pack everything I needed in it and it’s not even technically for long journeys!
