Easy to use
I love this press for camping or if our power goes out. I don’t have to go outside to start the generator to make coffee ;)Jen P

No electricity needed.
I bring one of these on every deployment. No need to run to the dfac or toc for coffee - all I need is hot water and a secret k-cup stash. This is the second one I've ordered - the first one got swiped by a someone that must have smelled the fresh coffee aroma coming from my tent.A couple tips for using this press:- Don't press down hard. If you do, you'll overpower the foil seal on the k-cup and you'll end up with coffee grounds and hot water everywhere. Just lay your hand on the plunger and lightly press down. Gravity will do the rest.- After you add boiling water and put the plunger on top, let it just sit for a moment. If you immediately press down, the plunger will let hot water seep around the edges. By waiting for a few seconds, you allow steam to seal the plunger to the walls of the reservoir. Once you see the steam, go ahead and press down. You'll have probably a couple inches of air between the bottom of the plunger and the top of the hot water. When all the water is gone, you'll hear the familiar sound that your electric Keurig makes at the end of its cycle when it blows the last of the water into your cup.

Well made product
This was ordered to replace one of a different brand that had failed for me after about 18 months. This seems much better built. When heating the water, I suggest bringing the water to a boil, then turn off the heat and allow the water to stand for 2-3 minutes before pouring it into the reservoir, also in cold weather you may want to dip the bottom silicone end of the plunger into the hot water before starting it in the reservoir for a tighter seal.

The best K-cup manual brewer yet...but one has to be aware of some things
I've owned several of these brewers of which most were from "Gourmia." Overall, this brewer consistently brewed the best K-cup coffee. Because it has beat every electric brewer I've ever owned, I only use manual-style brewers these days. With this brewer, you can ensure a full cup and a consistent thorough brew... ugh, when the electric brewer spat out a half cup of weak brew... However, it does have its own... characteristics.First off, the cracking. This is a thermal shock effect. I've learned to mitigate the thermal shock by just running hot water from the faucet (typically 120 degrees) onto and in the... um, let's call it the brew chamber... before brewing. Key word here is "mitigate." Eventually from day to day use, cracks will develop. Of course, one would need access to running hot water. The "loose" plunger. Just warm up the plunger to get it to expand ever so slightly... if the current plunger is "loose," I run hot faucet water on it as well.I remember when this brewer was only $20 or so. Now, $50+ and even $90 in other places. I just wish I could buy replacement brew chambers... For that to happen, I think a coop would have to be formed to buy a shipping container's worth from the manufacturer. Not a real issue, I have my Aeropress now and, if I have K-cups, I just cut'em open and dump it in... just as good, that is still better than any electric brewer.

Awesome!
Purchased this for our frequent travel and it worksgreat. Very sturdy and well made. Was exactly what I was looking for. I have a travel kettle that boils the water and it's all agreat setup. Highly recommended!

Seal questionable
Plunger does not have complete seal with tube. So the boiling hot water was threatening to spill over the sides the entire time we were trying to depress the plunger. It would be great if you don’t have electricity but we do and so are going to get a single cup Kcup maker. The flavor is whatever kcup you use. Clean up was very easy.

Won't ever break like all of the other machines
I had purchased multiple other automatic drip/ K cup coffee makers and they all worked for a while, but eventually they all failed for one reason or the other. This unit since it is manual and has really no moving parts or electrical component will never fail. It brews coffee just like all of the others. I have an electric kettle to make my hot water, install the k cup and pour in the water. Couple things I did learn, don't push too hard as you can blow a hole through the internal filter in the k cup and then you have grounds in your coffee. Second things is to not pull the top plunger back while you are brewing, this also can draw the coffee grounds back into the water tube and foul the water in the tube. It really doesn't cause a problem with the coffee or any taste issues. It has worked very well. Cleanup is easy and fast.

Mixed results - extremely poor customer service
Firstly - used this coffee maker while camping, and it worked great. Used approximately 10 times in 2021. in 2022, after approximately 10 uses, the needle in the plunger mysteriously disappeared, so the top of the k-cups couldn't be perforated. No biggie - I perforated them with a fork. Shortly afterward, the reservoir developed a crack/leak, which was temporarily remedied with duct tape. Upon my return from camping, I wrote to Gourmia, asking for information on replacement parts. I was asked to supply the company with information, including model #, "lot" #, and copy of invoice (presumably for verification in order to deny warranty coverage - although I had initially inquired about replacement parts - which I would have paid for). I was subsequently informed that the company no longer carries this coffeee maker, although it is still for sale on AMAzon and listed as for sale on the Gouria web site.If you camp without power, or if you have a generator which you don't want to run early in the morning, this coffee maker was perfect, until it wasn't. I won't order another one, due to conflicting messages and poor assistance from customer service. $59.00 + is a little steep for an item that may last for maybe 20 uses.
