Magnetic Charging Dock For Xperia Z2 Tablet

This is a good idea--not executed in the best way. I'm pretty gentle with things and handle them carefully, but there are several parts of this which almost seem designed to not function well. I suppose this guarantees Sony more sales when the thing breaks....~~~1) The unit is extremely light, so that if you don't put one hand on the base and hold firmly while undocking, the whole base comes up with the tablet and then falls off. (Breakage waiting to happen)~~~2) The connection between charging plug and docking station comes apart very easily if the station is jostled, so I've spent a fair amount of time plugging it back in.~~~3) There's a clear plastic piece that sits in the front groove to hold the tablet. This plastic piece is not actually attached and is another thing which tends to come off the docking station fairly often. Reinserting it means just putting it back into it's resting position in the groove, but there's no way to actually secure it.I'll probably epoxy some small fishing weights to the underside of the dock to solve issue #1.Issue #2 is more of a challenge - attaching some kind of clip to underside or back to take the tension off the plug under the dock?Again, epoxy for Issue #3, to keep the clear plastic piece from coming loose.Sony could do a lot to make this product so much better.....

$40.00 for an OEM part and this works as designed. It doesn't come with a USB cable but then again you can get one for under $5.00 or use your existing one.The Xperia X2 tablet has a cover for the USB charging port and I hate opening it (worse yet, I'm afraid I may accidentally break it). With the dock, you simply align with the connector, dock it and that's it. When removing, you'll need to hold the dock with one hand and remove it with the other as it's not that weighted down.The charging dock did not appear to charge the tablet faster, but it's more of a convenience so you don't have to stick a microUSB cable into the Xperia

This is exactly what I was looking for a docking stand to put my tablet on while I work. Works wonderfully with a great charging rate. The price is completely unacceptable for a piece of plastic a tablet sits on.

The Sony z2 tablet is great and all, but one thing about its waterproof feature is that you have flaps over all of its ports. Not a big deal really, but you have to use your nail to dig out the flap over the power/usb port. This cradle bypasses the need for the USB port to charge the tablet as it takes advantage of a second set of connectors on the bottom of the device to charge.

This works well.....would be more stable if some weight were added. It's almost impossible to insert the tablet and get it lined up without both hands.

Dock works great but has one minor issue. It needs more weight so that the tablet will release from the dock easier. Sometimes picking up the tablet the dock comes with it.

I love this thing. It works with the Z2 and Z3 tablets and phones with the magnetic charging capablities. Unfortunately I fear when the z4 tablet comes out it won't have any magnetic charging thus making this worthless in about 4 months unless you plan on keeping your Z2 or Z3.

Gekauft habe ich die Dockingstation für mein xpera Z3 Tablet Compact. Diese ist OHNE extra Kabel.Der Versand war super nur die Verpackung etwas zu klein. Leider kam die Station nur in einer Folie eingepackt und nicht in der wie auf den Bildern Versprochene Verpackung, was mich etwas enttäuschte.Die Gelieferte Station entspricht der auf dem Bild mit einem Adapter anscheinend für mit und ohne Case. Auf den Bildern ist das Tablet ohne Case mit Adapter in der Station. Was ich sehr angenehm finde ist, dass das Tablet mit einem Hörbaren Klick Geräusch einrastet und dann auch relativ sicher Steht. Der Magnet an sich ist fest genug, dass ich am Tablet haltend die Station mit anheben kann, er löst sich dennoch gut und reißt nicht am Gerät.Jedoch kippt das Tablet sehr schnell vorne über, was allerdings kein Problem ist, wenn die Station auf festem Untergrund steht. Auf dem Boden der Station sind anti rutsch Streifen, dadurch steht die Station auch SEHR fest auf dem Tisch, was mich angenehm überrascht hat.Einen Stern Abzug jedoch gibt es fürs einstecken vom Ladekabel. Denn die Buchse ist leider sehr schwer zu erreichen. ansonsten steckt das Kabel wenn es steckt recht fest. Die Station bietet daher sehr großen Komfort, da sie den Bildschirm nicht verdeckt und man daher nicht mehr die Schutzkappe öffnen muss, das Tablet dennoch steht und man quasi weiter schauen kann. Su precio no es apropiado para lo que realmente es, esto no es culpa de Amazon, sino de Sony, que ha abusado del margen de rentabilidad para este producto, se trata de una base plástica que nos permitirá realizar la carga utilizando los contactos magnéticos que incluyen muchos miembros de la familia Xperia, hay que decir que la única razón para utilizarlo, es el evitar el tener que abrir y cerrar la compuerta del micro usb de aquellos modelos que son estancos, ya que con el tiempo estas compuertas suelen falsearse, y una vez ello ocurre, se pierde la estanqueidad, en fin, al colocar el teléfono o el tablet en esta base, se puede cargar la batería y utilizar el dispositivo para ver una película o lo que sea, en cuanto a compatibilidad, se incluye solo el adaptador para el tablet Xperia Z2, cualquier otro dispositivo necesitara su adaptador si es que no coincide en el grosor, yo lo he probado con tres dispositivos diferentes ya que cuento con los respectivos adaptadores, y funcionan todos igual de bien, por último recuerde que se trata solo de una base plástica (algo estrecha) con la conexión micro usb y los conectores magnéticos, por lo tanto requiere del cargador, la calidad del producto es la que nos tiene acostumbrados Sony.

Ich habe mir diese Docking-Station für mein Xperia Z3 Tablet compact gekauft nachdem ich im Internet recherchiert hatte und diese Station kompatibel zu meinem Tablet ist. An dem Tablet ist das Laden ohne eine solche Station auf Dauer nervig. Man muss eine der Wasser-Schutzklappen aufklappen und kann dann erst ein Micro-USB-Kabel einstecken.Geliefert wird die Cradle/Docking-Station in einer kleinen Kartonage, welche kaum größer als die Station selbst ist. Der Station liegt ein Adapter bei, welcher das Laden meines Tablets erst möglich macht. Auf ein USB-Kabel muss man genau wie auf ein Netzteil verzichten. Das finde ich im Grunde nicht schlimm da wohl mittlerweile fast jeder eine kleine Ansammlung davon zu Hause hat bzw. dieses Zubehör fast überall günstig zu erstehen ist, was den Preis der Station dann für ein bißchen Plastik und Metall dann aber doch recht hoch erscheinen lässt. Die Verarbeitung ist gut und sauber ausgeführt und das Plastik gibt auch keinen unangenehmen Geruch an die Umgebung ab.Was die Nutzung bzw. Funktion angeht, so bin ich damit absolut zufrieden. Man stellt das Tablet ein, bis es hörbar klickt und der Ladeton des Tablets erklingt. Das Tablet lädt dann sicher auf und steht auch hinreichend sicher um während des Ladens bedient werden zu können. Auf die Ladedauer hat die Station keinen Einfluss soweit ich das beobachet habe. Einen genauen Vergleich habe ich dazu aber nicht angestellt, da das Tablet bei mir ohnehin nur über Nacht geladen wird.Das einzige Manko stellt meines Erachtens nach das geringe Gewicht der Station da. Wenn mann das Tablet entnehmen möchte, hebt man die Station mit an, sofern man diese nicht mit der anderen Hand festhält. Eine kleine Metall-Platte wäre in Anbetracht des Preises sicherlich noch im Rahmen des Möglichen gewesen.Fazit: Absolut empfehlenswertes Zubehör, wenn auch auf Grund des geringen Lieferumfangs relativ teuer und zu leicht. Daher gibt es von mir nur 4 Sterne

Im Grunde ist mit der Überschrift schon alles gesagt.Der ausführlichen Rezension vom Kollegen "Prolet" ist eigentlich nichtsmehr hinzuzufügen.Seine Erfahrungen decken sich absolut mit meinen.Natürlich ist die Station wieder sonytypisch überteuert, aber was soll's?Wenn man auf längere Sicht die Dichtigkeit seines Tablets bewahren möchte muss manleider in den sauren Apfel beißen.Beim Entnehmen des Tablets aus der Station, sollte man diese festhalten sonst klebt sie unten fest da schlicht zu leicht. Allerdings steht dasTablet sehr stabil drin. Das passt.Wie der Kollege schon erwähnte, ist es ziemlich tricky das Tablet in der Sony-Magnethülle zu laden.Das nervt schon ein wenig. Das hätte Sony besser lösen können, zumal als drei Teile aus ihrer Schmiede stammen.Ich will dann mal trotzdem noch 4 Sterne vergeben. Denn die eigentliche Aufgabe des Ladens meistert sie ohne Probleme.
