Whats not to like?
so i have tried both the grapefruit, and the lemon lime scents of this shaving soap, and both of them have smelled absolutely fantastic, with a good strong scent, but by no means overpowering.. just delightful. furthermore, lots of folks have complained of getting their tubs half empty, smelling like a wet dog's ass, and running through it in 2 weeks. well, maybe i just got lucky - but both of mine have come "full" - as in not jam packed to the brim, probably 3/4 of the way full, with a little space to spare on top along with a paper disk that seals it shut. and for those who blow through this tub in 2 weeks - you clearly have no idea how to use it. this tub could last you a month if it only came a QUARTER full... you need literally - a dime-sized little "dab" - in order to generate enough lather for 3 passes or more... so to say that you're not getting your money's worth from this is absurd. if for some reason other's were half full and opened when they got them - that sucks i hope you got a refund. but for the rest of us who received it as you're supposed to, there's MORE than enough in there to last you a good while - again, a little goes a LONG way... and lastly - i've tried probably 5 or 6 different brands of soaps and creams - and this one hands down gives the thickest, smoothese, most consistent lather out of anything else i've tried. it's become my favorite one - though i still alternate between the other beat ones from time to time just to use them up... but if you're new to this style of shaving - just start here... trust me

You get what you pay for - superior performer
This is the best shave cream/soap I've tried in terms of- scent (subjective) but a natural mix of lemons and many other things I cannot put my finger on. But it smells good and not artificial- lather : unbelievably thick and easy to create- protection: I can use a more aggressive blade with this cream- post shave: skin feels soft with a nice bit of moisturizing- efficiency: I only need a tiny bit (less than a dime size & thickness) to get over three passes on a shave brushYes you pay more for Taylor of Old Bond Street products, but if they perform like the Lemon & Lime cream, I would say they are well worth it. No, it isn't 3x better performance than some creams costing 1/3 the price, but it *definitely* performs better than the ones I've tried.

7up with a twist of grapefruit.
I just recently started shaving with a old school safety razor. Went cheap to see if I would stick with it or go back to disposables. I was intrigued by TOBS shaving cream but it was outside my price range until I found the Lemon-Lime scent for $5 less. I am now a fan of TOBS shaving cream and will invest in a new scent that fits the mood. As for this fragrance it reminds me of 7up soda with a twist of grapefruit. It lathers up rather nicely. Feel luxurious especially when you have used dollar store shaving cream in a can your life. Spoil yourself with the simple things.

Okay
As I have said elsewhere I have tried several brands. This was "Okay" but in terms of razor glide and smoothness I've narrowed it down to Truefitt&Hill, The Art of Shaving and my personal favorite, "Kiss My Face" amazingly the cheapest. Taylors , to me, is waiting right outside the top ring. Its pretty good but just seems to lack the "glide" and closeness of the others. I would have no problem using it if I couldn't get to one of the top 3,UPDATE!An appeal was filed and a head to head, so to speak, duel was established with T&H over a 4 day period. The results were indisputable. Taylor actually came back to edge out T&H for glide, closeness of shave and skin condition afterwards. Taylor, from this point hence, will be known as the "come back kid" of shaving cream. It still has the toughest competition ahead facing off, so to speak, against the royalty(most expensive) Art of Shaving, and the people's favorite(least expensive) Kiss My Face. Stay tuned...

Leaves a hard film on everything and clogged the sink's stopper
I've only used three brands of shaving my whole life: Viking Revolution, Taylor of Old Bond Street, and Gillette (once). I am ridiculously allergic to Gillette, plus it doesn't work well with a safety razor (which is what I have been using for a few years now). I actually love Viking Revolution, and we'll get to that in a minute. I like this stuff -- it works well -- BUT it leaves a terrible film on *everything*. My safety razor, the sink, the razor blade... everything. And the film gets pretty bad pretty quickly, is hard, and makes the razor dull after a few shaves (normally I can get a month out of a blade, sometimes more, and I suspect that it's the hardened film that you can clearly see because it's really hard to get off of certain surfaces, like metal). It's a real pity, though, especially because I bought two of these (I needed something quickly and gave this brand a try) in two different scents and it works well on the skin, it just leaves a terrible film and actually clogged the sink by clogging up the stopper with the hardened film.

Taylor of Old Bond
I bought Old Bond from reviews and its reputation and I was not dissapointed, makes a very craemy lather with my tweeserman brush, I bought the Lemon/lime and the Coconut Creams and THREW the cans of shaving cream away. Would recommend/ GREAT SHAVE, Others have complained about the fragrance, the fragrance is for you to enjoy, then you put on your favorite after shave or cologne,to finish off you routine. I'm 62 and have use several Taylor product and the lemon lime is the one I like the best, and by the way I use a 1958 Gillette fatboy double edge with feather blade(the best blade out there) and enjoy the taylor better than any of the other fragrances, and I will keep buying it! Sometimes you just can't PLEASE people. Just my opinion!
