Capturing Camelot: Stanley Tretick's Iconic Images of the Kennedys Hardcover – November 13, 2012

I am a fan of everything "Kennedy" during his time in the White House. I loved the intimate portraits captured by this photographer and writer.

This book is a treasure, even 50 years later. Stanley Tretick was one of the premier photo-journalists of his day, and it is a pleasure to have this collection of his best photos of JFK and his family. Good quality book and reasonably priced. This Kennedy-phile would have preferred a larger (dimensions) edition, but this will do quite nicely and is well worth having. Kitty Kelly, not my favorite writer, adds some narrative and insight here and there, especially about Mr. Tretick, but the book could stand alone on its photographic content if needed. Brought back wonderful memories!

Like all the other previous books I have purchased, this was just as great as allthe others I have. Actually, I have them all displayed in a basket in my guest room, so when I have family or other guests staying over, its within reach if they feel like sitting on the couch in room & thumbing through the Kennedy books. I have read the entire books in one sitting since I am retired & have the time to do so. I know so much has been written on the Kennedy's, but all in all, they sure have had their amount of sorrow as well. They're a big family & all families have some kind of skeletons in the closet, so I say, leave well enough alone. It was very sad time & period when President Kennedy was assassinated......it was sad again when JackieKennedy herself passed away. I watched that funeral as well & then the terrible tragedy of John Kennedy 's plane going down over Nantucket was another tragedyas well. I feel for Caroline & her loss for her entire family.........I feel this was another5 star book just as I feel all the others were that I have purchased & read.........I enjoyed all the Kennedy books I have purchased through Amazon & was totally satisfied with everyone I have bought. If you like the Kennedy Era, these were great books to read & look at all the pictures.........well worth purchasing..........

A very graphic and interesting depiction of President John F. Kennedy - totally enjoyable for those who can remember the"Camelot" years of the Kennedys. All credit must go to Stanley Tretick's images (as personal) photographer to the Kennedy family. Highly recommended to those who remember the 1960's era. It will be 50 years on 22nd November 2013 since John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Capturing Camelot is a wonderful portrayal of a magnificent president of the United States during his short term of office. Annabel

This was a gift for my sister who loves everything Kennedy and she cried when she opened it. She loved it. The photos are stunning!

This is more than just a collection of previously unseen photos of the Kennedy family by Stan Tretick, who became a close friend of the family. It is a love story of Tretick and the Kennedys beautifully photographed and produced and described by best selling author, Kitty Kelley, who, in turn, was best friends with Tretick. It is a must for those who want to see the Kennedys in their unguarded intimate moments.

This is a good book to read and then have it on your coffee table. It is a nice book for someone to pick up and look through it. It captures some of the stories we had heard about and some we had not. I love this book and my interest in the Kennedy family. I especially love the cover.

I heard about this on NPR, they had a review with the author- who was a friend of Stanley Tretick's. The backqround story of all of these famous photos is interesting and well told.

There actually are some photographs which, if not quite 'never seen before were certainly 'seldom seen'. The commentaries on the photographs were relevant and incisive.

Little bit disappointed that there were not too many colour photos and was quite pricey. But bought as a gift and they love it
