Best way for the money to preserve your compact discs!
These sleeves, at 1,000 per $15.88 are calculated to cost $.0158 cent per sleeve. For about a penny and a half, you get a functional sleeve with a cellophane window, and a close flap with a little paper 'catch' to keep sleeves closed. If you are like me, then you have dozens if not more recorded discs- music or movie, that you don't have a way to keep them nice and clean and undamaged. These sleeves are a very affordable alternative to various plastic jewel cases and what not. Jewel cases cost much more, and are actually easily damaged/broken, rendering them either useless or very annoying trying to re-marry the two parts back together.I record a lot of music, as a musician/songwriter and when I want to give people a copy of what I am working on, I can't afford to keep buying expensive jewel cases costing $0.20 cents and up for a 1,000.Paper sleeves are immune to the breakage of plastic cases, plus in my new understanding of how home/studio burned CDs and DVDsdegrade much faster than pressed discs, you can see that the paper is reducing the ambient light which accelerates degradation.I have already started to protect my hundreds of cds and dvds, and can see easily how much better this is for storage. I can leave the close tabs out, and use them for labeling if I want, and I won't have to worry so much when I accidently drop a disc on the floor.I give this product a full five stars because they came so fast, they are a wonderful price-point: 1.5 cents per sleeve, and will last through much more abuse than a standard jewel case. That is my opinion.

Choose your vendor carefully - I recommend MediaExpo
MediaExpo shipped accurately described sleeves. High quality 100 gram with clear acetate window and a scored, unfolded flap, and slit for manual tuck seal. Sleeves are bundled in 100-packs in resealable plastic bag. These are the best sleeves in this price range for hand-insertion (and I feel they are equal to far more expensive sleeves). I assume they would be OK for machine insertion as well, given the quality build. However, the 100-pack that is convenient for hand assembly may be a minor nuisance for loading a machine.I want to emphasize that this review is for the product shipped by MediaExpo only. I have had too many bad experiences with other vendors on Amazon who have tried to pass their 80-gram junk as 100-gram.If you do not have experience with sleeves, take my advice and save yourself the headache, spend the extra few dollars, and go with 100 gram. You will be glad you did. Also, make sure whatever sleeves you buy ship with the flaps unfolded (but scored) as I cannot imagine why anyone would want to have to unfold the sleeve first before inserting the disc. MediaExpo is a highly recommended vendor for this product.

great value, good quality for my use, and a great price
The great value, quality, and price that I indicate in the title specifically references the time in which I purchased this product - March 2012. Long story short is that I couldn't find a less expensive alternative on Amazon for my needs. I have about 2,000 discs that need to be organized in storage boxes, and these work perfectly for my needs. I don't handle them often once they're alphabetized, so I'm not worried about tears. That said some have torn with relatively light handling. I am, however, shuffling them sometimes like a deck of cards, and I'm sure that contributes. That said if you've seen the Memorex paper sleeves (which are more expensive) these are of a thinner paper. The Memorex ones feel almost like paperboard compared to these. THAT BEING SAID these are GREAT and they work fantastic for my needs - I'm just trying to provide an easy-to-understand comparison for someone about to purchase the product. Since they deliver via Amazon Prime, if you're a member you get them in two days for free which is even better - and that beats paying $5.88 @ Walmart for 100 of the "Brand M" sleeves!

Not the Best Quality, but not the Worst Either!
These are pretty much mid-grade sleeves, maybe a little on the thin side. They are definitely not as thick as you remember from days gone by, but still decent sleeves all the same. The thinness of the sleeve means it takes up a little less space when storing/filing CDs or DVD's. They are adequate protection for routine storage or sharing with a friend.I still give them a five star rating because they do what I need them to do and the price is alright. I paid $16.35 for these and sometimes they go for a bit less.

Great space-saver
I need to pack hundreds of DVDs that I have purchased over the years because I will be moving to another state. I decided to throw out the DVD boxes, but am able to store all the DVDs in these sleeves to make it easy to pack and transport without taking up a lot of space. The sleeves are very thin, but they are fine for my purposes and the cost was more than reasonable. I would highly recommend.

Cheap, but functional
I got a box of 1,000 sleeves to store my 600 CD/DVD collection. I am glad that I got 1,000 as these are not the best quality sleeves. They are made of copying paper, which is not heavy. About 10 of them tore as I was tring to tuck the sleeve cover in the notch. With 400 extras, it is not a problem. I expect more to give way as I use them. In the hindsight, i should have returned them, but I am stuck. If you care about quality, this is not for you. These are labeled as 80g. I suspect a good quality has to be 100g or better. I have seen some labeled as 85g, but nothing better than that. One may consider plastic sleeves, if heavy usage is expected.UPDATE: I purchased these for $14.99 (free shipping). The price has gone up significantly since then. I will give it a one or two star at this price.

Good buy for the $$
Yes, they are relatively thin paper. They are also inexpensive. I have used almost nothing but paper sleeves for the past several years to save storage space, and these work about as well as any of the others, that I purchased for a lot more $$.I have found no defective envelopes in the first bundle. Given that I bought a thousand of these, I doubt I will purchase them again for the rest of my days. By the time I get to the last bundle, if I live that long, they will probably be disintegrated like a museum relic. By then, CDs will also be relics of a primitive time.

Great product for the price
Great product for the price, the paper is a bit thin but these certainly do the job, I am using them just as backup disks, so they are being tucked away anyways. They took a while to ship to me, and it came in 2 shipments, they were very quick to respond as the first shipment only had half, and a week later I got the other ship, meant.

They are sleeves.
They asked me to leave a review. I didn’t double count but they are indeed generic CD DVD White Paper Sleeves and there seem to be a thousand of them. They hold CDs and DVDs. They are generic. Good job. Would order again.
