Really, really is high quality. I previously had only bought the local discount superstore brand so wasn't sure if would be a better deal or not to buy this cheesecloth but based on some reviews decided to give it a try as we were using a ton making our own greek yogurt and needed to see if could save more by using this cheesecloth. Basically the weave in this cloth and the strength of the fiber is at least 4x the store quality and probably a lot more than that. It did cost just a little less than twice as much but even without the fact that I will be able to use this more than once I will save because we are using 1/4 the cloth each time. Very happy to that is a more natural fiber, sort of a bonus for me as cost is a bigger influence on most of our purchases, why else would we make our own greek yogurt? Of course it does taste better too!

First, this is truly a fine-grade unbleached muslin cheesecloth. I can use only two layers of it where I would use four of "regular" cheesecloth. I purchased this cloth because it's becoming increasingly more difficult to find cheesecloth in my area and what I do find is a small amount of material that costs a lot more than it's worth because you have to use so much of it to strain anything.This is a great price for a nice, large amount of cheesecloth. We make a lot of jellies, but my first test of this material was in filtering clarified butter. I placed a double layer of this cheesecloth in a fine mesh strainer and it caught all the "foam" that rises to the top in the clarifying process (which I usually have to "spoon off" before filtering). For best results, allow the butter to cool a little, and pour slowly.

I haven't actually USED it yet, but it came in on time and looks a whole lot better than the stuff I've been buying locally. I think it's going to be a great product. It's a natural color (light beige) and seems to have much more fiber in it and to be less flimsy. I expect I'll be re-ordering. This product looks like I won't have to double up so much as I've been doing with the cheap stuff bought locally.

I live in a very small town, have an semi-alternative lifestyle with few shopping resources for necessary things. I rely on Amazon and they have not let me down. I was finally out of the terrible bleached cheesecloth and wanted some very good cheesecloth to strain some beef broth and it arrived the very night that I needed to strain it! Love it! Been looking for 'food grade' cheesecloth locally with no luck. This works GREAT. Have washed and reused it several times and it is holding up well. I just cut off what I need. The customer support is wonderful!
