Simply Blows Apple's $40 Smart Cover Out of the Water! WAY OUT!!!
I'm comparing this case to my experience with about 10 other plain cases I either own or have owned, as well as my favorite "Keyboard" Cases, such as: Previous Targus Versa View 360 for iPad 3 ($99 at the time); Zagg Folio Keyboard for iPad 3 ($99) Logitech Keyboard / Stand Combo ($59); New Trent Airbender Air ($56) and New Trent Airbender 2.0 ($69). Bear Motion slim Keyboard case w/ detachable keyboard for Air ($29) All of which have very respectable reviews - and all of which I could be reasonably happy with. After growing up a technophile and studying computer science at University of KY, my technology gadgets mean the world to me. Not only do I use them professionally but also for many numerous recreational activities and personal study projects. I grew up using Windows everything until the iPhone came out. The rest is history. I won't be going back anytime soon. I love the iOS environment, have always loved iTunes for organizing and playing my MP3's. Now I also love OSX and the awesome compatibility and iCloud advantages across my iPhones, iPads and iMac... Makes life amazingly smooth, easy and complete! As far as keyboard and case accessories for the iPads and iPhones, I believe the best possible fit to your lifestyle and requirements is the absolute most important decision you can make after investing in the already inflated prices of Apple products. I love to save money as much as the next guy, but I would never advise anyone to skimp on their case(s). Choosing the right case is every bit, if not more important than choosing the right tablet!THIS PARTICULAR CASE: I keep at least 5 or 6 cases on hand for my iPad Air. I stuck with one favorite on my iPad 3 (a Targus Versaview 360 Keyboard folio case for 2 whole years. It never had the Auto Sleep/Wake feature when opening/closing... and as far as I knew only the Apple Smart Cover could do that.... Boy was I wrong. And believe me, you'll never want to go back to a case or cover that doesn't have that feature once you have tried one out that does!!! I've got at least one other simple, slim leather case for my iPad air that is supposed to have the auto sleep/wake feature but I've found it only works about half the time, and if you want it to work about 90% of the time, then you have to stretch the attached elastic band over it to keep it closed nice and tight, the it usually works, but still, not ALWAYS. This particular case works noticeably better than other cases in this regard, I believe because of the great magnets already built in to it for holding the Origami positions solidly where you want them. It works like a dream in both portrait and landscape positions, then angles are optimal for anywhere you'd be setting it on a hard surface, such as a table, desk, shelf etc. This case adds VERY little weight or thickness to your iPad Air, looks elegant compared to a lot of cheap plastic looking cases you see (even ones with high reviews on Amazon), It functions exactly like an Apple Smart Cover, plus you have protection for the back of your Air, plus multiple landscape AND PORTRAIT positions now available, very quality feeling and looking... I can't say enough good about it. At under $10, you have to get this thing to have on hand for those times you don't need your much heavier, uglier keyboard case cramping your style! The only room for improvement I can see would be to have some kind of latch to keep it from flopping open if you drop it or something... it lays naturally flat and nice, but there me be times you would need a latch. Also, I love to use a stylus, so a place to put your stylus would be nice... other than that this product is a killer and at this price, it might as well be free! So do yourself a favor and add one to your collection for less than Wal-mart wants to charge for a dang stylus!!!!! Great work rooCASE!!!

Some initial impressions of the rooCASE iPad Air Origami Slim Shell Case
I just received my rooCASE after getting in on that pretty great initial incredibly low price (1 cent? Yes, please.) Looking at the quality of other rooCASEs in the past, I wasn't terribly concerned as their quality seemed to be reflective of their general prices (somewhere between the 10 to 20 dollar range).Upon finally receiving the iPad Air case just now (literally only using it for a half hour or so), I have to say that what had been previously written follows through here. This is a throughly usable and acceptable case for that range ($10 to $20)._The Back_My iPad Air snaps both in and out with great ease while still feeling like it's securely "locked" into the case. The back of the case is composed of a slightly satiny plastic that doesn't provide a whole lot of grip (I'll get back to this), but looks and feels like it could take a dent or two without cracking. The buttons, speakers, and headphones are exposed; the camera and microphone holes are well cut out and do not add any vignetting._The Cover_The key thing that interested me about this case was the similarity to the "origami" design of the new Kindle case. As a fan of constantly propping up my old 1st Gen iPad with that old case, I have to say that this folding origami design really creates a variety of stable configurations that would never be an option with a traditional 3 or 4 folds smart cover. Viewing recipes in your kitchen in a stable portrait mode is now as much of a possibility as watching a movie in landscape. The microfiber material feels extremely cheap (mainly because the fibers are so short), but it feels like it will get the job done and not scratch your screen when combined with the magnet holding the cover in place. The rooCASE supports smartcover locking and unlocking as well.I will say, however, that the smart cover does not magnetically lock into place when it's flipped to the back of the device. What flipping the cover to the back does provide, however, is the grip that the satiny plastic case is missing. Unfortunately, if you're holding the device in this configuration (with the cover flipped to the back) with one hand, half of the folding cover sort of flops away due to gravity and lack of magnetism._Overall Summary_The rooCASE is a perfectly capable case that holds a great value when priced at under $20. It isn't made of quality material, but is made of great utilitarian material. There are no indications of this being a luxury case and it makes no attempts to be perceived as one. The case adds a little extra weight to the iPad Air, but it does so at the expense of feeling solid and durable. The origami design also lives up to my expectations and is as novel as it is useful.

Adequate
This is a slim, unassuming case for the iPad Air, which fits snugly and seems enough to provide adequate protection for everyday use. The origami feature allowing it to stand in different orientations and at different degrees works well.On my case, the magnet in one corner of the cover is weak, meaning the cover occasionally flaps open at the corner if I hold the iPad by the hinge. I do not know whether this is a flaw in my case alone or whether it is a weakness in the design. Assuming the former, this is a good basic case. It seems to be a bit expensive at the £20 I paid for it, but in the world of iPad cases this seems to count as an acceptable price for the basic quality and functionality it offers.

Excellant Alternative To Apple Leather Case
I bought the Apple case initially at a shocking cost of £65, but on the Air the old 4 fold is now a 3 fold and I found that the Apple case for it's shocking pricing would not even act as a stand for watching TV and continually collapsed and the closure never closed and sealed properly like you'd expect from an Apple product.I researched a few cases and this one proved good value, so I bought it. It was here really quickly and is everything the £65 Apple case is not. It's sturdy, it stands properly in either landscape or portrait without collapsing thanks to the origami design, it closes and locks properly. It's a great fit and light weight adding little to the device but keeping it protected all round. I use a lot of FaceTime and watch a lot of TV on my iPad when travelling and rely on my cover to allow my device to stand properly - this one does it, thanks :-)For the money great case which fully protects

Good but not perfect
It is really nice and fits perfectly. The number of ways it can stand is a plus but unfortunately especially the almost flat stand is very flimsy and doesn't hold the position that well (often falls on the back - especially when the surface is soft, like a bed). Furthermore the upright stand (pictured) is not that secure either (but a nice addition and vey us full during FaceTime and like) .For the price its a bargain. I would do it again if I had the choice
