If you are looking for interesting and fun book to read you should check out this True Police Stories volume.
As a voracious reader all my life, as well as being a retired police officer, when I saw this book (True Police Stories of the Strange and Unexplained by Det. Sergeant Ingrid P. Dean, forward by Kathryn Harwig and numerous contributors) on Amazon for a bargain price I immediately purchased it.Officers probably see more unusual and strange things than most people in our society. This 270 page hardcover volume covers a wide variety of weird and unexplained stories. This text is organized into nine topic areas. They are as follows:The first section covers angels and divine intervention tales from officers. The second section tells about how intuition played a role in officer’s lives. Dreams are covered in section three. Section four deals with incidents involving ghosts, apparitions and haunted effects. Section five focuses on Karma and twists of fate. The police heart is the subject in section six. Section seven covers weird and freaky stories involving officers. Signs, symbols and synchronicity are the focus in section eight. The final section is devoted to UFOs and unexplainable phenomena. There is also a short biographical section which has information about all the officers who contributed to this book. One of the strange things about this book is that most of the officers contributing to this book are from MICHIGAN police agencies? This made me wonder if there were that many strange incidents in just one state imagine what police officers all over the country could report. The truth is any police officer who has many years on the job probably also has some strange tales. I often wished I would have kept a diary when I was working as a police officer. It has been said the police officers have the best stories to tell, and this book is an example of that true saying. If you like police stories with an unusual and sometimes strange twists check out this book.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Use of the Monadnock (MEB) Straight Baton).

Beware
I broke one of my own rules when I bought this book. After a few poor choices, I always read three reviews. This author's other book was so good I just bought this one. I should not have broken the rule. It is almost the same book. Some of the chapters are EXACTLY the same, they didn't even rearrange the order of the stories! There are some different ones though and they are all good, some are excellent. That said, I still feel cheated. I was going to ask for my money back, and I'm sure Amazon would credit my account. (They have before) but I obviously don't learn my lesson that way. And I have the irony that both books are about law enforcement to comfort me. I'm not sure how this happened as the author seems far too spiritually advanced to sell the same book again under a different title. Just ask her, she will tell you.

I love spooky/paranormal stories and these are excellent
I love spooky/paranormal stories and these are excellent! I read this book quickly and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's nice to read these types of accounts from law enforcement as the people in that field tend to have a strong rational "just the facts" mentality. So I feel like they are more trustworthy in telling paranormal accounts--they are not prone to making up outlandish stories. The ghost story about the detective in the building overnight (when the closet door kept opening) was one of my favorites. Officer Dean's account of comforting a dying boy was gut-wrenching and beautiful. This is an inspiring, enjoyable little collection.

One of the best of it's kind!
This book is an excellent collection of short stories based upon what are purported to be actual events. The stories are divided into categorical chapters that fit this specific genre. Most of the stories seem quite believable with only a few being on the fringes of what I think most people would accept as "possible". Many of the accounts offer strong humanitarian and spiritual overtones, but without being "preachy". A few of the stories could be taken as "spooky", but I don't think anything in the book would give anyone nightmares. Some of these would make excellent campfire stories! Was that a twig that just snapped back in the tree-line? For anyone who likes to explore or research "oddities", but doesn't want to get "freaked out", this book would be a great choice!

Thanks alot
Having spent many years as a police officer I know we all have weird stories to tell. Sgt. Dean told some that were close to home and tear jerkers. A great read. I hope Sgt. Dean reaches out because there are thousands of weird incidents and stories that should be told. Would like another book.

Highly recommended. Great Christmas
For those interested in the paranormal you don't want to miss this one. Incredible stories from bona fide law enforcement officers - not the usual flakes who report UFOs. These folks mostly waited until retirement to reveal the events and creatures they've witnessed. But now you can read all about them. Interestingly, they mostly take place in Michigan. What kind of book could we have if every LE officer from every state told what they experienced? Fact is truly stranger than fiction. Highly recommended. Great Christmas gift
