Good shoe for above-the-knee amputee
I've bought this shoe several times for a friend of mine who is an above-the-knee veteran amputee. As an amputee, he needs to take particular care to protect his remaining foot which does extra duty. His prosthetist noted that requirements for a good shoe include arch support and a firm heel. Prior to finding these Vionics, we tried several different brands of shoes trying to find one that met requirements including Nike, DIckies, New Balance and others. While some were better than others, yet all left his foot aching at the end of the day. Then I discovered Vionics and thought to ask him if he'd like to try.First, it helped that Vionics come in many styles - and they are all better than stereotypical orthopedic shoes. He liked this shoe because it looks an active shoe that he might have worn before the amputation. The first pair was ordered from another site. When the shoe arrived, he put it on and instantly knew it was different. It had support upward and also from the sides. The heel is nice and firm. His prosthetist even looked at the shoe and liked the support (firm heel, arch support) - and also liked that it looks like a shoe and not like a medical device. He has worn these shoes everyday for the past three years. From the moment he wakes up in the morning and puts on his leg until the end of the day when he takes off his leg, he's wearing these shoes. He wears the same shoe because when after spending time each morning putting on his leg, he's not interested in spending additional time changing shoes on the leg. He says his foot feels better, his arch feels better. As he says, "with Vionic, you know you're in the right shoe for you".A pair of Orthaheel Vionic Walkers last about 8 months with constant use. After 8 months, the heel has worn to the point that it's soft and the arch support has flattened noticeably, so we replace them with exactly the same shoe. Having done a long search for a good shoe and finally found it, he's happy to stick with what works. After ordering the first pair from another site, I've ordered them from Amazon since Amazon started carrying them because the price is right.

Vionic Men's Orthaheel shoes. Now I have happy feet!
I never write reviews for products but thought this one was worth my time. I have been suffering from plantar fasciitis for a while now and at times could not put any pressure on my left foot because of the pain. I had mentioned this to my sister and she said that she has the same problem and had gotten some shoes specifically for this issue. I thought I would do more research on the subject so I dug in and found out more than I wanted to know about plantar fasciitis. :) Anyway, I buy a lot of items through Amazon but never clothes or shoes but thought I would see what they had to offer. I found these shoes and thought I would give them a try since doing returns is pretty simple. Got the shoes, size 11(D)M US as I wear a size 11 in most shoes. Tried them on and laced them up and when I walked in the for the first time I was amazed how much better my left foot felt! They fit perfectly as I have a bit of a wider foot. I wear them now all the time and my foot is so much better. I also bought some Super Feet inserts for other shoes which work great. I have high arches so I got the orange model. I also bought some Vionic with Orthaheel Jon Men's Sandals and wear them around the house as they say you shouldn't go barefoot. There's my 2 cents. So glad I did the research and found these items, I can walk normally once again!!

Very Comfortable and snug fitting
I bought this product for help with plantar, arch, ankle, knee, and lower back issues. Immediate help with foot, ankle, and back pain! I ordered my normal size and they fit very good, with minor snugness around the ankle and toe areas (but not uncomfortable). Great shoes! We will see how they wear over time, but for the past two months they have held up very well during heavy walking.

Five Stars but less than a Month down to TWO Stars
Vionic Men's Walker Grey 11.5 WI absolutely loved this shoe!! I liked the fit so much I ordered another pair the following week. The second pair I ordered didn't fit so well....the Right shoe seemed smaller than the Left shoe. My normal size it 10.5 EE but after reading the reviews I decided to order a Full size larger.....11.5W The first pair fit perfectly!! I received my first pair on April 1st and have worn them when I did my daily walk. I especially liked the Arch Support which really helped the pain in my feet and lower back. Today I looked at my shoe and found it was separating from the sole of the shoe. Today is April 29th and I have until May 1st to return the shoe to Amazon for a Gift Certificate refund. I also checked on the other pair of shoes and I have until May 7th....I returned both pairs today with sadness because I really liked the fit and the relief of the pain I had when I did my daily walk. So now, I have to rate these shoes at Two Stars instead of Five Stars. I have worn other shoes for three years and never had this problem. After reading more reviews I am finding that this is a reoccurring Problem with this shoe!! I am so glad I noticed the shoe coming apart today because I could NOT Return it after May 1st!! Beware.

Only a tad large - and great heel support
I usually wear a size 10 or 10.5. After reading reviews on here, I ordered an 11, and it's a little bit big but probably the best size, as I suspect a 10.5 in this shoe may be a bit tight for me.I bought these shoes mainly to take pressure off my injured left heel. They do a great job of that, as their shape shifts the weight forward on the feet without creating awkwardness. Very well designed in that respect. Only thing I don't like about them is they have a prominent arch support, which digs into my arches (I have normal arches I think). People who need arch support may like it. Me, I used some tools to hammer that part of the shoe a bit flatter so it's more comfortable. Great shoes though, I'm happy with them so far (been about a week).
