"All-round fun" —The Observer (U.K.) "Cheeky, irreverent" —The Guardian (U.K) Two bickering cops make one great team London cop Jack Armstrong (Toby Stephens, Jane Eyre, Die Another Day) has been assigned a new partner, and he's not happy about it. Worried that "George" will cramp his freewheeling style and tell him how to do his job, Jack is shocked to meet bright, beautiful DI Georgina Dixon (Miranda Raison, MI-5) instead. The two detectives couldn't be more different. He's a slacker; she's a fast-tracker. He's cocky, she's cool. He's slovenly, sexist, and set in his ways. She's smart, self-reliant, and serious about her career. In spite of themselves, they learn to work together, solving a murder at a car dealership and the gruesome death of a headmaster at an exclusive school, among other cases. Stephens and Raison "fairly crackle" (The Independent, U.K.) with chemistry in this British buddy cop drama with a twist. Contains coarse language, drug use, and sexual content

My favorite new show
Season Two rocks. We still have Toby Stephens as a detective, but Season Two introduces a new female co-star Miranda Raison. Perfect casting. This is a very funny series. Playing off an odd-couple type situation, the writing and the lines are great. I love all things BBC, but somethings BBC comedies can be a bit weak or predictable. Vexed has some edgy humor that you won't find in other BBC comedies. Nothing offensive. But clever and fun. You really come to like and enjoy the two lead characters. The crimes and police action a really just a backdrop to the banter and exchanges between the two lead actors. I was really surprised how much I liked this series. The fact that Toby Stephens, who played Capt. Flint from Black Sails, can do comedy shows his incredible range. Good stuff. Plus with Season Two you get six episodes. I really really wish they had done more that just two seasons. Thanks BBC.

Funny and intelligent
Tongue-in-cheek detective show, with a lazy, egotistical male officer and a super-keen, intelligent female officer. The stories are bordering on the ridiculous, but so entertaining, that the reality doesn't really matter. Well-written and acted. A true delight. Not quite as good as the first series (someone insisted on the female character showing cleavage), but still good.

Vexed, Series 2
The DVDs play just fine; thank you so much! The series itself is broadly comic, and pretty thin--the leads are charming, and deft at their roles--and fair warning, this 'series' is only six episodes (Series 1 was only 3...!)Cautiously recommended.

Hilariously funny
I watched Season One and laughed aloud a lot. It is not a serious show or aspiring to be of a high quality, but I had a good time watching it and it mattered to me. I was able to forget about what bothered me because the show is engaging and funny. I read few bad reviews in British papers about it, but frankly I do not care. I love season one and I really like season two. I think Toby Stephens is really funny, I liked the actress from season one more, she was more hilarious and the story of her and the husband was pretty good. I would recommend this show and it is sad they did not do season three, but it is often like that.

A semi-comic detective series that seems to be aimed at young viewers more interested in sexual tension and romance than in an old-fashioned police procedural. The acting is good. The scripts bear no relation whatsoever to actual police work, and I guess I am just too old to be interested in the love life of two thirty-something detectives. But it would be enjoyable for the right--and probably younger--viewer.

Pure fun
No, it's not realistic at all. In fact it is family friendly. The new female costar is better than series one's good female costar but with more personality, wit and cuteness. The male lead remains an irascible but droll fellow who balances outrageous comments with sly detective skills. I wish there were more series of Vexed.

no chemistry at all
Series 1 was totally enjoyed; thought it was a great because of the repartee between the leads. For some reason they replaced the female lead and..............POOOOOF SEASON TWO STUNK.

Change of cast member helped
Weak story line, better than Series 1 would not purchase at any price, plan to give it away to someone who appreciates a time waster

Odd, but great
I'm sorry Lucy Punch left the series, but it's still as good. It might be an acquired taste for some, as it's that difficult combination of comedy and serious police work, with the one guy who's a maverick and his partner sort of has to bring him in line, but comes to quite enjoy the way they work. Grudging respect, I suppose you'd call it. I doubt it's the way real police people work, but it's good viewing. Definitely recommend it and the first series - but there are only six episodes per series, so don't expect the kind of 23/24 episode box set you get from the US.

Sorry this is it!
I was glad when Series 2 of this tongue in cheek crime comedy came out on DVD, but a little disappointed to see Lucy Punch had been replaced by Miranda Raison. However, Miranda was brilliant and easily stepped into the shoes of her predecessor. Very sorry that this is probably the last we shall see of Vexed - and this duo. Especially appealing for British ex pats (with sense of humour) who do not have access to British TV.
