Works and looks like the original Sony Control!
I tried ordering another Chinese model of the Sony Universal Remote 2 months ago, as my original control from 2016 was failing to activate some buttons. This order sat for over a month, and finally was dropped, as unavailable. I then ordered this PROROK model. Finally, I have a remote that works exactly like the original, and can be programmed with any IR remote. I anticipated that the SONY codes for devices, as cable, amp, and TV might not work from previous posts, and indeed, my Yamaha receiver code didn't work. My Zvox sound system was easy to set up as only volume up, down and mute needed to be assigned. My Sony TV, DVD player and Comcast cable all worked without any programming at all!!! (Sony has been consistent.) I purchased a kit for painting the connecting pads on the old controller 5 months ago, which improved the old remote, but it's performance was spotty. The on/off button was hardest to renew. However, in the past two months, it has become more reliable, apparently because the contact points have smoothed out with regular use. Now I have two remotes, essentially identical, but I appreciate the new one. Only the voice command microphone is missing, but I keep the Sony control handy for that.

Appears to function like the genuine Sony.
Arrives looking like the genuine Sony wrapped in plain plastic and shipped. No Instructions or box. Instructions available on Sony's website for model RM-VLZ620. No problems programming it to replace 4 remotes. Three of the remotes are more obscure products and I didn't expect to find factory remote codes for them in the Remote code chart downloadable from the Sony website. Indeed the products were not listed. Following the Sony RM-VLZ620 instructions and with practice I got good at teaching from the factory remotes. This has the advantage of allowing me to choose which key will be used for a particular function or to teach more than one key the same function for additional ease of use by feel in the dark. The 4th remote I think had a factory remote code on the chart but there were several to choose from. I chose instead to just teach from the factory remote. Using the Program Consecutive Procedures macro feature I taught it to turn things on and set the correct input from one button. Now I press and hold PVR to turn on PVR, TV, Amp and set proper amp input. When on the remote is ready to control the PVR functions while I watch. When done I press and hold PVR and everything turns off. I can teach the PVR mode volume buttons to adjust the amps volume without first needing to switching to amp button mode but have not yet done this. Not sure which way I'll want in the long run. Might choose instead to program the Page + and Page - buttons to control the amp volume.

Great Sub, however
I’ve owned 2 of the original Sony RM-VLZ620 for over 15 years now. This remote works the same as the original Sony, with one exception. Not ALL Manufacturers’ Codes are programmed. The remote accepts the code. Will play back (933) the code, but nothing works. Since this is a “Learning" remote, you can teach it, providing you have the OEM remote for the device. This remote also features an Auto Discovery mode that scans for a Code, but this too is not 100% successful. You can also teach it to control IR devices it’s not meant to control! Instructions and Program Codes can still be found on the Web.
