The HOLOSUN INFINITI HS402C is a monocular Red Dot Sight with dual power supply, quick release mount and no vision-blocking battery tray design. It is powered by solar cell under normal usage, but under low light conditions, the battery will supplement the power requirements. The brightness level is memorized from the last time the sight was used. Sight operation can be switched between automatic and manual modes. Out of the box, this red dot is automatically solar powered. The red dot intensity also auto adjusts to ambient light. If there is not enough light, such as at night, just press the "+" or "-" button to activate battery power. Now it will operate like a regular red dot such as the HS403A. You can adjust the intensity by pressing the "+" or "-" buttons. When it is time to power down the unit, just press both buttons at the same time or simply put it away and it will turn off after 8 hours. The unit is now automatically in solar powered mode, ready when you need it. You can verify the power mode by covering the solar cell. If the red dot is on, you are in battery mode. If it is off, you are in solar mode. The worst Holosun offering - nothing but problems
Non-functioning unit. I ordered this sight with great expectations, as I love my Holosun HS403B-FDE. Unfortunately I received a non-functioning unit.First impressions : This RDS is largeLooks cool. I like the field of view.*The dot: This is not so much a dot as it is a scribble of red dots. Makes no sense considering the dot on my other Holosun, but it’s true...this is not a dot at all, but a scribble.*Battery trays: didn’t fit well, and did not seal. No matter how hard you push the tray in, it would not give a good positive click. And if you tilt the sight body just right, you can see the edge of the battery...I would assume that means it is not waterproof. Tried the trays flipped all ways and couldn’t get it to fit correctly.*Brightness buttons: the brightness function was the real kicker. Non-functioning. Neither button had any effect on brightness at all. But what did have a HUGE effect, was putting a light up to the solar panel. The dot becomes very bright, then goes back to almost invisible when the light is removed.* Shake awake: it did work, but you really had to shake it hard. Then the dot would slowly appear as if on a dimmer control.Overall, I’m just really disappointed in this purchase, and frankly disappointed in Holosun. However, this may be a blessing in disguise as I have since decided that I will do my best to avoid products manufactured in China. Still, Holosun has built a reputation on high quality, high value optics, and this one falls short in every way.I just sent this sight back, the seller agreed to a return, but shipping on my dime. Hopefully the shipping will be refunded once they receive it. Overall a transaction that has left a bad taste in my mouth. The same week I bought a Leupold Rifleman scope at a slightly higher price point than the Holosun...amazing scope with the best, clearest glass. There is a lesson to be learned here.

First day disappointment
Scope is really cool. Looks good on a AR platform. But like some of the people on here that have received this item mine to had the mounting lever screw explode under minimal tension making the sight inoperable. I was able to contact the company threw amazon and with extremely good costumer service between amazon and Holosun they sent me out a replacement item to mount the sight to my gun. I just don’t understand. If this part of the sight is a ongoing problem why hasent it been addressed by now. Other then the issue mentioned this sight appear to be a very functional pice for a tactical AR.

Dont use it on Hatsan 30 cal. Carnivore, the base mount screw underneath exposed
Great red dot, clean and precise for use. My springer broke the small metal "L" shaped brace that is used as a scope stop on the picatinny rail system. I hope to find a replacement and will not install it on a springer air rifle again, my fault, not the scope.

Solar is the way to go!!
I always forget to turnoff my Eotech and Trijicon red dots. Only to frustratingly find out when you really need the sight, that the battery is dead! Not with this solar powered sight! It's on even when there's no battery! even fluorescent or street lights will give you a dot! Brightness is auto adjust to the ambient lighting! Included Auto shutoff and Shake to wake technology is a luxury normally found on sights costing twice or 3 times the price.One caveat, if your looking for co-witness with buis, this sight has a weird height for proper co-witness.

Outstanding optics
Holosun is a outstanding optic no matter which product line you get.Ive used ever top of the line optic and these are in that league for substantially less money.

A excellent red dot and just the thing for my AR. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was because the screws for the battery case were difficult to grip and the screw heads stripped easily

This is just a red dot. It doesn't have the circle dot option.
Wrong product. Images suggested it had the circle dot option but its just a red dot. There are better options.

Updated: Base broke
Still working great. Have about 2000 rds thru the AR and it has been dropped numerous times. Been thru alot so far. One thing I do though is sometimes I keep a bit of tape over the solar panel to trick it into thinking its low light and kick on the battery. Its not as bright as I would like it will full sunlight outside. Simple thing as tape cures that. Im overall pleased with the Holosun. Worked great until the base broke. About 10 rds into a session and the bolt holding the QD lever shattered into pieces. Cant find a new base anywhere.

Well built easily installed and ready to go
So far this Item is as described seems to be well built, easy to install and zero in .I'm happy with this purchase. Bought it just before the price jump .
