Excellent product!
My girlfriend's iPhone 3GS glass broke after a measly 6 inch drop to the floor. She was already making plans to sell it broken or switch to an old flip phone she had when I found this item. We're pretty much broke, but I can definitely afford $5 if it fixes her phone since it will be very important with the fall semester starting soon. I took my time, cleaned my desk very thoroughly before starting to minimize dust, put the screws in a small heavy tray off to the side of my well lit work area, and everything went great. Make sure you have a decent quality very very very tiny screwdriver set. If they are crappy they will strip the screws. I actually found that the only tool I really needed was a very small flathead screwdriver, tweezers, and a blow drier. This allowed me to get all the screws out, gently pry the lcd frame from the bracket, scrape off old adhesive, apply the new one, and put everything back together. To be 100% clear, this is the glass with the digitizer attached. It arrived towards the end of the estimated arrival date. Both the front and the back of the glass, and the top and bottom of the back of the glass have protective film on them, make sure to remove them at the appropriate times. Leave them on as long as possible to avoid dust contamination. Compressed air could have been helpful, but I got all the dust out and it looks crystal clear. The adhesive was a little tricky in my opinion. It looked like you were supposed to peel the small brown pieces of paper off of the larger yellow sheet with the adhesive on it, but the adhesive wanted to stay on the yellow sheet and not the brown. Start at an edge and go slowly, making sure you are pulling both the brown backing AND the adhesive off of the yellow sheet. This is seriously pretty easy to do, you just can't rush it. Go slow, think things through, and you'll be in business in no time!

Great
Over the last few months I've ordered 4 different glass replacements for my wifes iPhone. Out of the 4, this one is the ONLY one that fits perfect and works like new. The other ones I had also ordered through Amazon, but all were different sellers. 2 of them had connectors (#2) that didn't snap in place. The one that installed with no problems, had problems with the screen being non-responsive until you hit the power button and turned on again. I've had this one installed for 2 weeks with zero problems.

Looks good, but...
This digitizer looks great, and came in a nice package. But after installation, I realized this is either not for the 3GS or just does not work. The connector looks similar to the original, but slightly different. It presses into place(it seems), but not quite as easily as it should. Either way, I finished connecting everything and put the phone back together, only to have to pull it all back apart since the digitizer did not work with the phone whatsoever.Being that it only cost me about $7, I can't complain too much. But I still expected it to work...

ok if you have ability to successfully remove the broken glass
3 out of 5 simply for the difficulty level. This product comes as advertised. All the right parts are there and it probably works great. My problem was I had to Youtube to find instructions and I was unsuccessful in heating up the glue hot enough. I ended up breaking my functional LCD screen trying to separate the broken glass. My advice, spend the extra money and get the LCD & Digitizer Assembly. (that what I ultimately ended up doing). Replacing that took 5 minutes, 2 screws and three ribbons.

Poor product, Poor customer service
I received this item after my 3GS suffered an unfortunate fall and broke the glass. After having the product professionally installed, the digitizer was mis-calibrated by over 10mm (you would have to click on the next row of icons to get the proper app to open), and as a result there was a large portion of the digitizer that was completely non-functional.Further, the company refused to accept an opened/installed product for a refund, and would not issue me a replacement.Spend a few more dollars and buy one that works. It seems like there are a few folks that had good luck with this product, but you're definitely taking a risk. Their quality control is clearly sub par.

Good product but tools are cheap
I was able to replace my cracked screen by watching the video on YouTube, but I had to stop mid way through the project to go to Walmart to get a new screwdriver because the screwdriver included was very cheap and stripped after removing 2 screws. This product did do the trick and is good for the price, but I would suggest having a good #0 phillips head screwdriver on hand. It took about 45 minutes minus my trip for the screwdriver.

Good overall, but poor adhesive and tools
The tool set that was included was of limited usefulness. You may need to supply your own tiny phillips head screwdriver. The adhesive strips were very weak. After attaching the glass to the adhesive, the glass fell off again. Perhaps it takes a while to properly set.Everything else was decent. Watched a youtube video for a walkthrough. Took about 3 hours total to do using a hairdryer.

Works as it should
If you're reading this, chances are you dropped your iphone like I did and the glass broke. I ordered this and without any prior experience with these things, I was able to replace the glass and the phone works great and I don't have to worry about cutting my face on the glass any more. There are videos out there to walk you through it. You will need a hair dryer or a heat gun (which is what I used). One word of CAUTION! Do not pry too hard to get the lcd detached from the glass. I pried way too hard and now I need to replace the lcd. Which costs another whopping $15. So for about $25, I've got a brand new screen and lcd. The process takes about 30 minutes and does require patience, but it's not that difficult. I'm almost tempted to replace the battery while I'm at it, but the iphone 5 should be out shortly.
