Satisfied customer buying again due to destructive cat
This was a re-purchase because our cat decided it would be fun to chew the plastic latch on her original collar keeping it from closing. It's reasonably durable, with the exception of damage from a focused effort from our cat, but it lasted almost 2 years in this hostile environment. The price is fair without being great, and the orange is highly visible as desired.Product was made and delivered much faster than I expected for a customized purchase.

Some things to consider...
WHAT I PURCHASED:I bought 3 of the embroidered style collars for my cats.WHY I PURCHASED:I finally bit the bullet and bought these after one of my cats made her way outside. Luckily I scooped her up before she could get very far, but it made me realize that, yes, even my darling angels could bolt given the opportunity. I had the door open just a crack as I came inside the house, as usual, but she somehow slid through.PROS:I bought the embroidered kind because 2 of my cats are rescued ferals, and so they've never worn a collar before. I figured it would be less irritating. I did end up buying hang tags from Petco to put on them anyway, just as double insurance. They are good quality. They are not that silky kind which I saw another reviewer complain about because they fray. I don't think I will have any issues with this material fraying. Although it's hard to capture the true color in photos, they are orange and definitely noticeable. The embroidery is large. The kind I received, with the black buckle, is a safety collar. It is unlike the typical safety collars which have a round quick-release tab; it has a strong plastic buckle with curved edges that will open if too much pressure is applied. In my attached photo you can tell the curved edges of the plastic buckle, unlike traditionally shaped right-angle edges, allow for this.I prefer this kind because it always seemed to me that the traditional round kind came apart too easily, which defeated the purpose of the collar. This kind is more secure, while still offering that safety feature.CONS:-It appears some reviewers received collars on which the plastic pieces were orange and transparent, while others, like myself, received collars where the plastic pieces were solid black. Some reviewers who received the collars with solid black plastic pieces noted that, when the collar was tightened, the plastic pieces obscured their phone number. I was concerned about this, and decided to "ask a question" about the product, essentially saying, "how do I know which kind I will get?" in hopes that the seller would reply. There was no reply from the seller, but several other amazon customers replied; however, none of them could provide a clear answer. I decided to purchase anyway and hope for the best. When ordering, I left the cats' names off in hopes that less writing would mean, if I did receive the kind with a solid black plastic piece, that there would be a smaller likelihood of the plastic obscuring the phone number. So far I've put the collars on 2/3 of my cats. The first cat (with the long hair) has a very small neck. I was able to tighten it enough (while still giving her plenty of room to be comfortable) to avoid the plastic obscuring the phone number. My second cat (the black one pictured) is a larger cat with a thicker neck. Once I tightened it to fit her, the phone number WAS obscured by the plastic. (NOTE: the attached photo of her in the collar was taken before I tightened it. The number was completely legible when the collar was on loose, meaning very large necked cats would be fine.) I was able to eventually finagle it so the black plastic piece fit just on either side of the 3 middle digits of my phone number, meaning it reads like this: XXX[XXX]X294, with the [ & ] representing the plastic pieces. This may not affect you if you have a cat with a larger neck, or perhaps even a cat with a long name, which would plave the embroidery at a different point on the collar.IF YOU HAVE A LONG HAIRED CAT-CONSIDER THIS BEFORE BUYING: As another reviewer has noted, the embroidered style may be illegible on long haired cats. That's not a defect in the product, but something to consider.See the attached photos of my long-haired cat. One was taken normally, the other was taken after I moved her hair aside. Before moving her hair out of the way, you can't even really tell she's wearing a collar at all.I decided this was OK before I bought the product because she is friendly enough to approach a stranger if she were to ever be lost, and they could easily move her hair to see the phone number. Your cat may be different, so it's something to think about.NOTE:In my photos, you'll notice I took the bells off. They weren't particularly loud or anything, but as my cats had never worn collars before I thought it was best I take them off. The bells were blaze orange just like the collars.

Got my lost cat home!
Willy has had this collar since 2018. It is now 2022– on Friday, he escaped in the middle of the night. On Tuesday morning, a neighbor called thanks to the big bold phone number on his collar. As of Tuesday night, he is happily cuddled with his humans on the couch. As you can see in the attached photo, the bright orange color of Willy’s collar has faded over the years. The embroidery has not frayed or faded whatsoever. This collar got my VERY loved kitty home (seriously, people who “don’t like cats” or are “allergic to cats” love this boy).It is a quick release— I have never actually unclipped it to remove it from my cat. I just pull and it pops open. In 4 years, it’s held up great. No signs of wear and the clasp stays closed despite my non-standard removal methods. Willy does not mind collars, so if you have a collar hating cat, your mileage may vary. Willy’s stayed on during his 3 day voyage through the underbrush!I bought this collar years ago due to the “kitty convict” project from The Oatmeal. I might buy a fresh one for a bright orange refresh since it got my best boy home to me today! I never thought Willy would even try to get out. He escaped. He is home thanks to having my phone number around his neck.Buy this collar. Get your best friend back. Worth every penny.

El collar Es muy lindo, buena calidad y el bordado es preciosoLo malo es que es demasiado largo y los números se tapan y no se ven.Tendría que tener tallas más pequeñasPero estoy contenta por el producto y el envío fue muy rápido. Recomendable

Love the collar, hate the bell.
I'm so glad I learned about the Kitty Convict project - my indoor-only cat was due for a new collar and ID tag, and this is perfect for him. I love that the band and breakaway clasp are smooth and flat, which seems very comfortable around his neck and easy to adjust if needed. The material seems high-quality and durable, so I'm hoping it lasts him a long time. The printing on the ID tag is high-contrast and very clear, and the text is neat and legible. The only thing I didn't like about this product was the attached bell. I think the concept of having a bell is great (his other collar had a bell so it's familiar to both of us), and I got a kick out of the fact that it matches the fluorescent orange of the color. But I lasted only two days hearing the noises it makes because let me tell you what: for its tiny size, that is the loudest bell I have ever heard in my life. And it's not a nice-sounding bell, either. It has a flat, tinny, jarring tone to it and it jangles HARD whenever he takes a step. Like, I get it. It's a bell, that's what it's supposed to do. But frankly, the sound of it is loud and horrible. After it actually kept me awake last night while my cat was prowling around the house, I took it off his collar and replaced it with his previous bell. That's how disruptive a noise it is.Granted, I am very sound-sensitive, so this is probably a very whiny nitpick to make for lots of people. If you're not fussy about sound, it probably won't bother you at all and you can enjoy how cute the little orange bell looks with the little orange collar. But MAN, the pitch of that bell is awful (although I do have a certain amount of respect for its big volume despite its small size. It's tiny but mighty!).
