In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

Unstable ankles and this really helps!
I have small feet for my height and weak ankles, which makes running a challenge, until I got these. I wanted to invest in my fitness and these were a great star. Cheap vs quality make a difference! Sturdy heels, good cushion for asfalt/concrete, and 3/4 rigid base, which is great for weak and unstable feet. Pictures show difference asics is the top picture. Both shoes are designed for running. I originally bought the top selling asis (Women's GEL-Kayano 22 Running Shoe) to compare asics. The fit and quality were very simulator main difference was the price. The picture comparison is made between asics and fila.

Excellent stability and comfort
My previous pair of Asics was the GT-2000, which were great, but I think these are even better for my problem feet. I've got bunions, the beginning of hammertoes, and I overpronate. These offer excellent stability and arch support. I got them in a wide, which leaves enough room for my bunions but doesn't slip at the heel (a common problem, since I don't have wide feet overall -- just in the bunion area). I recommend ordering a half-size up, as Asics tend to run small. I'm not a runner so I can't comment on how they are for running, but for wearing throughout the day they're really good.

Shoes Fit almost perfect But not returning them. Shipping was lightening fast
The shipping was super fast and free, too ! I will keep these shoes even though it has a tight toe box-- Tight for me. But see I have bunions and I need foot spread room, lol, I wear a 9.5 and I ordered a 9.5 wide D and theyre still a little tight across the top of my foot BUT the important thing is that these are supposed to be for overpronators (me) and I go back to work on Monday July 2. Will be wearing them on that concrete floor and finding out then what these are like. So far, other than my knotty bunion on top my feet, these shoes fit fine. I have been stretching the insides all week since I got them/ I have a feeling these are going to work just fine. UPDATE: I wore these to work on the concrete floor and was in a lot of pain because of the tightness across the dorsal bunions. So I did some cutting of the fabric around the toe box to allow for ease of wear. Next time I order more of these shoes I am going either for a wider size or up to a size 10. But for OVER PRONATION these are great!

Great shoe for an overpronator.
My daughter loves these so much, we bought her a new pair after the first pair wore out. I do not know how she will handle it if they change this model! When we went to the running store, they had every size, but hers. Thankfully we knew her size and went right to Amazon. This shoe is the right amount of support for her as she overpronates and needs a strong shoe. These hold up very well. Her last pair only wore out on the bottom due to the mileage, but the uppers are still completely intact, unlike my Brooks, which constantly have holes inside where my big toe pokes out. We will continue to buy this shoe for my daughter as long as ASICS is making them (please do not stop!!).If this review is helpful, please click the button to indicate ‘Yes, this review was helpful to you.’ I am happy to answer any questions you have, if I can!

Not just for heavier runners.
I bought these running shoes for walking and general purposes, not because I have wide/large feet or am overweight but because I now need ultra supportive shoes after an injury. In a sneaker, I need motion control, a wide last, and a deep footbed to fit my chunky orthotic. This fit the bill. I popped out the (very thick) Asic sock liner and inserted my orthotics with no problem. If you do not need orthotics the normal sock liner is great- memory foam like and also has adequate arch support. The shoe fit mostly great throughout- spacious toe box, comfortable tongue, but loose in the heel if your feet are narrow. I've only worn these sneakers for a few hours now but they feel good, I am not pronating and they have pretty good cushion. The only slight downside for me personally, is the colors. They are a bit more neon in person than the images represent online. I'm not a fan of neon colors, especially neon green, so this was surprising. As this color is only on the Asic stripe logo I am fine with it but wish other color options were available like solid black or grey.

Great Motion Control Running Shoe For Flat Feet
My overpronation was validated via a walking and running analysis. This series of Asics is a great motion control running shoes for overpronation. They're very comfortable, lightweight and fits great.

I love these shoes
I love these shoes! I bought one pair for work and one for running/exercise. I work as a nurse so I am on my feet for 12 hours. They give really good support and my muscles, joints and back aren't as tired at the end of my shift.

For Severe Overpronaters
I am a severe overpronater- "weak ankles" and flat feet- which have wreaked havoc over the years by messing up my big toe MTP joints and affecting my hips. My husband calls these my clown shoes because they do look a little different (not very sleek) but I love them. I could feel the difference immediately. The soles are designed to compensate for my inward-leaning feet, taking the pressure of my great toes. There is plenty of cushioning, too. I took these on a 15 day trip to Israel and Jordan (miles and miles of walking) and ended up wearing them every single day. I cannot comment on using them as running shoes. I ordered size 9, which is what I usually wear in other Asics models and the fit was as expected. Just wish they came in more than two colors.

Very first use of it felt awesome.. as though walking on a sponge bed
Very first use of it felt awesome.. as though walking on a sponge bed ! Hope this relieves my heel pain and discomfort while walking and proves perfect for me.Color options are not many ...usually most combinations are of dashing colors. Would be helpful if can get options of utmost 2 color combos in a pair rather than 3-4 colors which is the case now.
