Great for any student or anyone looking to transport supplies.
Absolutely awesome! Perfect for any artist or student that needs to transport materials and supplies. Plenty of room! There plenty of space for the materials in the three tears and the bottom portion also has enough room for larger supplies such as spray adhesive, staples, ink, and other materials (the photo of the supplies laid out on the floor is to provide an example of what can be stored in the bottom portion). Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to neatly organize materials and transport their materials.

This was perfect for me , still holds up after like 3 years. I travel a lot and it fits everything I love it.

Great for sewing gear, pens and paints.
Great space and optional dividers. If you need space for brushes, get the larger storage box version without the trays. I stuck a lot of sewing threads and extra press feet in this one.

Design, Construction, Materials, Durability, Packaging, and Shipping: All Unsatisfactory
Even though packaging for shipment was terribly inadequate (almost no padding) there seems to be even more wear / blemishes on the product (see photos) than what could have occurred in shipment. Product design, materials, and construction could be much better. This is a very bulky case that, ironically, leaves the user short on functional space. The three fold-out trays take up too much space, especially considering the small compartments in the three trays. This case would be much more versatile with two trays, more adjustability in the tray dividers (to allow for larger items); and to provide more bulky-item storage space under the trays. There are two "Hinged" covers on the top interior tray. After putting them back in place upon unpacking, they popped off three more times just in the light handling during inspection, testing, and REPACKING FOR RETURN. Quality of this ArtBin product is inferior in comparison to ArtBin products I've used over the past 30-plus years. Yes, I've initiated the returning-for-refund process on this item.

Not XL...
Before I give my review of the item I have to say this.....Item arrived undamaged which was surprising considering it was packed in a box with no cushion or support and one end of the box was crushed and half opened. It wasn't taped properly. Now my review of the item....I find myself not liking this item. For it to be a "XL" I was definitely expecting bigger, more sturdiness and more room inside. The bottom is not big/wide or have that much room because of all the protrusions along the walls of the bottom. So the bottom space is actually very small and limited. The movable trays are very flimsy and feel as if they may break. I honestly don't see this time lasting that long.We really wanted something that was actually"XL" or "XXL" in size but with this item what we actually received was more of a kind of "small medium" to "barely large."Not happy with this purchase and truly wish I had returned it for a refund, but wife had already placed her things in it and arranged it how she wanted it.Until this becomes an actual "XL" size I just cannot recommend this item.Negatives....Bottom space is limited, small and cramped.Trays are flimsy and feel like they are going to break when moving them. Not really an "XL" in sizeMost definitely not worth the price we.Didn't send it back for a refund...wish we had.

but some in this new one I really like a great deal
I had my last ArtBin for decades before it fell apart. That one is no longer made, but this is very similar. There were some elements of the older ArtBin I miss, but some in this new one I really like a great deal. There is a lot of space, shelving that raises, and the ability to create small or larger compartments. This arrived promptly and well packaged.

A most capacious storage option.
*Update*Roughly one year later and my Artbin is still going strong, with little to no wear evident. The collapsible trays have held up perfectly, the hinges are still strong with no cracking of any kind, and the bin as a whole it solid as a rock. I'm just as pleased with my Artbin now as I was a year ago, and since then I've dropped it plenty of times, regularly used it as a step-stool/chair, and at one point in March it fell off the tailgate of a parked truck and it stayed shut, with no broken supplies inside.I would buy another if I needed to, but this one holds all my supplies so well another Artbin would be superfluous.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Original Review-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------I was tired of my art supplies constantly littering my workspace, and the tray attached to my desk couldn't hold much, so I bought this. It's deceptive how much this thing actually holds; I'm currently in art school, so I have a TON of supplies, including no less than 30+ tubes of oil and acrylic paint, all of which fit in the large bottom compartment, and I filled all three trays to capacity with my misc supplies (pens, pencils, razor blades, charcoal, ink, etc.). This artbin held everything easily, and to my surprise it wasn't a battle to get the lid closed.Construction seems quite solid, it definitely feels as though I could drop this thing down the stairs and my supplies would be fine.My only complaint regarding this artbin is that the little dividers that were included are pretty useless, and my particular box was missing the small, clear lid that goes over the small compartments on the lid. That was a bit annoying, but not a big deal, as I wasn't planning on using those lid-receptacles, but it never hurts to have the option. If it wasn't for that issue this would've been an easy 5 stars. All in all I consider this a great investment for any artist; it keeps your workspace clear, supplies organized, and it feels like a quality product that will last a long time. If you're conflicted about which to choose, this or the Large, go for the X-Large - it's better to have the extra space and not need it than have too little space and a bunch of supplies floating around.

Not sturdy enough for the capacity it can hold
The space and compartment are good but i doubt how long it will stay intact ... Broke the top flap on 1st day itself.. not a good choice if you want to use its full capacity ... Not worth the money ...

Not satisfied
I had great expectations from this. Hardly used it after I bought it as I was unwell. Today when I took it imagine my shock when I saw that the rear portion just came off! After spending so much money on it!

rather too large
Make sure you check the size of this box before you order. I bought it for my mum but its way too large for her to sit it on her bench at her art class.
