Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway, Skiff the Railboat

Skiff is an adorable and unique addition to our Thomas Wooden Train Collection! My boys love boats of all kinds so when we learned they made a boat for our train set we were all super excited!!! Skiff is slightly different then pictured. His mast is straight (not bent) but his mast/sail does raise and lower by folding down. This allows him to go under most of the other Wooden sets. I found this on the official Thomas site but when I came to order it at Amazon I wasn't sure if it was the same one because the pictures were very different. After researching the pictures, product descriptions and item number, I was able to feel confident that is was all the same item. Happily upon opening it, my research was confirmed.I ordered Skiff as well as the Pirate Cove Discoery Set and Pirate Ship Delievery Train. These 3 products make the perfect gift for a new engineer or the avid train enthusiasts. Totally adorable but I have to say that the boys were bummed that the mast doesn't pop up when used with the Pirates Cove Set (the included pirate ship's mast pops up as it goes under a special arch).My boys are 4, 7 and 8 and really enjoy the wooden sets. I do to because they allow for so much more imagination and creative design because of the multiple ways the tracks work together. I plan on keeping all the wooden tracks and trains as heirlooms to hand down because they are quality toys to be enjoyed year after year. The Thomas Wooden Railway trains, sets and track are by far the best and if you are looking for a gift to give fun and encourage imagination you can find that with any of the Thomas Wooden Railway pieces.

My son loves his wooden skiff. I think it's my favorite as well, and I usually don't get too excited about thomas and friends.What makes this friend extra special in our opinion, he twist and turns. Also, his sail is a "real sail" according to my son. It is made of canvas/thicker woven material. (We also have a take n play skiff with neither of these features). So this one is pretty cool, I must admit.I would recommend this skiff to you or your thomas and friends enthusiast.

Great grandson is a Thomas fanatic! I was able to find this locally but in the new smaller size. I put the unopened package in his train table and when he found it, he quickly ran to me and asked "Where did this come from!" He was so excited and loves this. As we watch the movies we are trying to add a few of the none rail characters and this one is perfect.

Great product, however packaging had to be taped back together as it was not glued well in original packaging.

My 2-year-old loves the mats which can be put up or down.The only semi-bad thing is that Skiff can rotate around which becomes a little confusing when you're trying to connect to other trains but Skiff is facing the opposite way of the correct magnet sometimes.

I was a little concerned the the moving pieces would break, but they have held up well to the rough play of a toddler!

It kept my kid busy for hours

My son absolutely loved this addition to his Thomas train collection. I thought it was cute how he spun around on his base and his sail goes up and down to get under tunnels and bridges. Super cute!

We love thomas the tank engine and collect all the new trains. I'm sure my son will be happy at Christmas, but it was a little expensive as all wooden thomas trains. Of good quality I'm sure it will become a favourite.

Very popular with our Thomas obsessed nephew. We were very happy to find one character he didn't have!

Bought this as part of our Grandson's Birthday present. He loved it. Very well made & will give loads of play time.
