WARNING: 1920x1200 or HDMI BUT NOT BOTH at once.
WARNING: 1920x1200 or HDMI BUT NOT BOTH at once. The HDMI port is limited to 1920x1080, and 1200 requires use of the DisplayPort connection. The description is not clear on this, and neither is the user manual. If you use the HDMI port for 1920x1080 then the image will not scale correctly (it will be stretched vertically) and there is no way to correct this using the monitor or Windows settings. Other monitors can do 1920x1200 through the HDMI port, but not this one. Almost false advertising to call it a 1920x1200 monitor. (For Dell U2415.)

The good: 1
I bought two of these 24" monitors recently. The good:1. The picture. OMG the picture. Absolutely gorgeous. These monitors replace a single Samsung 24" that's many years old at this point and the improvement is noticeable.2. VESA 100x100 mounting is compatible with most monitor stands/arms. I'm using these with a dual clamp-on monitor mount to get some desktop real estate back.3. Lots of USB ports.4. The HDMI, DisplayPort, and mini-DP connectors make this monitor great for laptop users who want an outboard monitor.5. One of the USB ports is a high-current USB 3.0 port for devices that need it and can make use of it.The not-so-good:1. I have not been able to get daisy-chaining via Displayport to work with either my personal Linux box or my work-issued MacBook Pro running Yosemite. My video card has two DVI outputs so I'm using a pair of DVI -> HDMI cables for hookup. Not sure that this is the monitor's fault though. If you want to use multiple outboard monitors with a laptop that has only a single mini-DP connector, this monitor may not work so well for you.2. The USB ports are on the back, facing downwards, and are kind of inconvenient to reach. They're located on the same panel with ports for lots of other stuff that doesn't get plugged and unplugged anywhere near as frequently, like the main USB lead to the computer and the video cables. If you need to plug a USB cable in, you're doing it blindly, by feel. Also be aware that these monitors do not have DVI or D-sub VGA ports. They have only DisplayPort, mini-DisplayPort, and HDMI. If your computer only has DVI or VGA outputs you will need an adapter.

A Five Star Winner
I wanted a relatively large monitor that would mount on the wall and serve for everyday computer use as well as for viewing movies. The primary consideration being that the monitor have at least a 16:10 aspect ratio….. the 16:9 being ludicrous beyond consideration.Turns out that there is precious little out there to choose from…. like NOTHING larger than this one. So, I went with the 24 inch Dell Ultrasharp U2415 because of the excellent Dell Ultrasharp reviews and the fact of it have an extremely thin bezel.Upon its arrival I was surprised (not so pleasantly) that I had to purchase a Male-Male DVI to HDMI cable adapter in order to install it to my HP Windows 7.Over seven plus months extensive use, I absolutely love it!!To be brief, my U2415 has all the qualities raved about in the highest of reviews……. with no trace the problems referred go in the single star ratings. As a test, I set the wallpaper to a solid black color and even under this extreme constraint there was virtually ZERO backlight bleeding through……UPDATE: I was so taken with this monitor that I purchased another.... every bit the winner the first one was.... again... simply LOVE it!

I love it
So, Asus has a similar offering, the PA248Q, complete with USB 3.0 hub. However, at time of writing, it's roughly $100 more than this.I have the Asus, and have loved it for video editing. I can trust the colors, and the matte, non glossy display feels more like I'm looking at real paper than a glossy LCD/IPS display. This Dell also has that effect, which is good. Colors are trustworthy (I can't speak to the scientific precision, but they are good enough for my professional work), and the almost complete lack of bezel is actually a plus over the Asus. This display is truly immersive, weather doing mundane office tasks or video games (yes I sneak in some games at work, fire me). When I sit 4 inches from the screen, I can see the pixels distinctly. However, I found a good solution to this problem. First, move your head back about 2 feet, then, realize how silly it was to get 4 inches from a screen and criticize the pixel density. hah.Anyway for the price, this is a fantastic option. For those of us who want a great screen, with good enough color for entry level professional photo/video coloring, this is it guys.Wait, I almost forgot. The location of the USB 3.0 jacks: bad. They are located at the bottom of the screen, same place as the display inputs. So, if you were planning on plugging and unplugging regularly, forget it. The ASUS has the jacks on the side, much better.

Best Monitor Ever
Quite simply the Best...Monitor...for the Money. ( Even if it was grey market from Argentina . I'm in Wyoming USA). No matter. The Dell U2415 is the finest display I have ever sat in front of. it's like there is not even a physical monitor or LCD screen there...you look completely thru it with 100.00% clarity. I am a pro photographer to whom color quality is paramount. When I plugged this monitor into my Mac, it was perfect. No calibration necessary . I SWEAR that this monitor actually calibrated my Mac for optimum ColorSync profile. The moniotor was factory calibrated and the printout included, and it immediately went to work as is , straight out of the box. The proof came when I made my first prints on the Canon Pro-100 Pixma printer , using the standard ICC printer-ink profile for my paper. The prints were and remain perfect. So I will be buying another one of these for my other Mac.

Dell Slipping!
I have about 8 Dell monitors and this one started flickering, turning on and off consistently and I thought it was my Mac acting up. Switched to one of my other monitors and all of them worked just fine. My 13 Year old monitor(Dell too) still works better than this modern one. This is my dissatisfaction and for you who are having a pleasant journey, I envy you.

Excellent monitor
I love this monitor. This is a perfect upgrade from my 10 year old 20" Dell 2007FP 4:3 monitor. The screen size is perfect for a desktop monitor, in my opinion. The picture quality is nice. The thin side bezels give it a nice look, but this affected the placement of USB ports, I guess. My earlier model had 2 ports; both on its left side. They were easy to access. But that monitor had a normal thick bezel. This monitor has all the USB ports on the back - one port is relatively easy to access since it is just behind the monitor while the rest are in line with other connector ports. One thing about warranty: While I was going through the comments when I was about to purchase this monitor, I read a comment which said you have to 'transfer the ownership' of the product from the retailer's name to your name after the purchase. So after the purchase I completed the process from the Dell website. I noticed that the warranty for my unit started from October 2017 while I purchased the product on June 2018. I suppose it was during October 2017 that the Amazon retailer bought this unit. So I contacted Dell Support on their number. They requested the invoice of the purchase. I emailed the details and after a few days they corrected the warranty period. Prospective buyers may want to check their warranty once they have bought the product and get it corrected, if required. It's only been two months. I hope the monitor stays perfect in the long run.

Do your research. And then buy this.
The first external monitor setup I fell in love with was Apple's Thunderbolt monitors. They were the best in their class; served as docks with extra sharp panels that were bright and easy to work with from any angle. While Dell's monitor lacks the extra ports and speakers, it more than makes up for the sharpness and clarity of the display. I'm in love with this product it has blown me away ever since I unboxed it today. The display is crisp and easy to read from any angle, the colors are absolutely gorgeous, and the brightness + contrast combo is lightyears ahead of products with just a $100 (about ~7k inr) in either direction. I'm talking about BenQ's lower-end no-name ones. Those other monitors that you can get for 15k inr. Or, the higher end LG ones for around 25k to 30k. This monitor beats them all. That being said, do your own research, and I feel that you'll conclude what I did. This monitor is by far the best in its class and it's an integral part of the workflow of any individual seeking excellence in their tools and themselves.(note: as you can see, in the attached picture, the brightness is so high that it washes out the rest of my room)

Great quality monitor
This is a part of a pair of monitors that I use when I work from home. The size and the resolution is great, very easy to setup and crucially it supports DP1.2, which allows it to be daisy chained with a second monitor while having a single cable into my laptop.I cannot fault this monitor at all, the colour reproduction is great it is nice and bright and the image it super stable.Love it

One of the best monitors at this price point.
On-time delivery by the seller Appario Retail Pvt. Ltd. Fulfilled by Amazon.Packaging was good and secure. Awesome monitor, it is ultra sharp and colours are very realistic. The product quality is top notch, the low profile bezel adds little more screen area and makes the monitor look sleeker. The monitor has a good non reflective coating on the screen. The on-screen-display menu (OSD) is accessible through feather touch buttons on the right hand side bottom of the frame. Navigation through the menu and settings are easy. The back has various ports for connectivity, this is a little cumbersome if you want to connect something on a regular basis. The connectivity panel faces down, so one has to rotate the monitor to the back and tilt it up to see the ports clearly. HDMI cable is not provided in the box. This monitor comes with a 3 year panel replacement warranty.Dell website states that if you purchase it from a retailer you have to transfer ownership of the hardware to avail warranty. The service TAG, (sort of serial number) which is required for the ownership transfer is at the back of the monitior.Update: 20-09-2019Even after almost One and half years of daily use the monitor is in perfect condition. The colour rendition is the same as it was when I first started using it.Final verdict:A must buy.

Love it as a work monitor - but 1440p is better for a 24 inch monitor
Fantastic monitor - bright, vibrant colours on an IPS LCD screen. The 16:10 ratio is great for productivity tasks like browsing, programming or just reading. The black bars in the video don't bother me - I didn't buy it for video anyway.Gaming is fine - I am an offline, single player casual gamer, so I get as much use out of it as my 15.6 inch laptop screen gets me. I still played PES, RDR2 and I didn't notice anything off.One point though - 1080p on a 24" monitor does mean you can see individual pixels in text even without being too close to the screen. So if that puts you off, consider 1440p.But for price to performance, this is hard to beat. (I got it for 18.9k in May 2020)Additionally, I spent almost 3 days mulling over whether to get this or a P2419H (which is 5-6k cheaper). And this is what I could find.Pros of P2419H over U2415:Newer (As P24'19' suggests, it is a 2019 model vs 2015 in U24'15')Lower power consumptionCheaper by 5-6k16:9 screen is better for videos and moviesPros of U2415 over P2419H:99% sRGB coverage, so a wider colour gamut16:10 is great for productivityU series comes with in factory colour calibration, which is much better out of the box than P seriesI personally believe U series also has better QC against backlight bleeding, but that's up for debateP.S. - Maybe I was lucky, or maybe the extra cost attached to U2415 (vs a P2419H) is what ensures it, but I didn't find any backlight bleeding in my monitor - so that automatically elevates the score to a perfect 5.
