Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo & Conditioner Set for Dry Hair

For some background, I have long, curly hair (mix of 3a and 3b) which frizzes like crazy around my fringe. Before purchasing this product I had been using Herbal Essences for years, but I have also used Joico KPak deep conditioner (which I still use and love). HE just wasn't doing it for me anymore and in my search for some gentler shampoos/conditioners I came across really good reviews about Joico Moisture Recovery products.I am so glad I bought this! My hair feels so unbelievably soft that even my boyfriend noticed. After one use I noticed a difference in my hair texture and while it doesn't tame all the baby hairs (nothing ever has) it leaves my hair super silky and shiny. I do feel the need to shampoo twice with this (I only needed to shampoo one time with HE) because I feel like it doesn't get the buildup through all of my hair the first time around. I don't mind shampooing twice since I don't wash my hair everyday (maybe 3-4 days). I thought it was worth mentioning though.The most impressive part of these products are their ability to keep my crazy curly hair from tangling and knotting up right away. Tangles and knots are my worst problem with my hair, and whether I wear it up or down it likes to become like one big dreadlock in the back (not cute & definitely not easy to comb out!). I was skeptical when I read the reviews about how this stuff detangles, but I am a believer now. It is incredibly easy to comb through my hair now and it immediately helped my hair by keeping it relatively tangle free for considerably longer.This stuff is definitely worth trying. I will buy the biggest size I can when I run out of this.

Ok, so my hair is pretty curly, kinky, dry, thick, unruly, frizzy, tangles and knots easily, and is just overall extremely hard to work and deal with. For years, all I've been able to do with it is just wear it in a ponytail. I've tried so many shampoos and conditioners over the years from just drugstore cheap stuff from Walmart and Target to expensive keratin and customizable shampoo and conditioner. My hair stylist recommended this stuff to me and nothing has ever made my hair as shiny, clean, smooth, non-frizzy, healthy looking and feeling, and easy to brush out than this stuff. I have only washed twice and it has changed my hair like night and day. My curls are actually pretty, soft, and bouncy!! The scent is perfect and smells so clean and salon-like. It's not strong at all. This stuff also keeps your hair clean and fresh for so long. I am only washing once a week!! If you have hair like mine, I HIGHLY recommend this shampoo and conditioner. It is quite honestly the best shampoo and conditioner I've ever used from what I can remember!! Thank you Joico!! I bought the purple shampoo from them as well and can't wait to try it!!

I had tried other products and they didn't do as they stated, but I was pleasantly surprised by this duo. I have been color treating my hair for 20 years and was absolutely pleased with the results immediately. Even after only 2 weeks of use, I went to get my hair colored and my hairdresser asked me what I had done differently since my last appointment and when I mentioned that I had switched to Joico, she told me that my hair seemed healthier and that it took the color better. It has been a month now of only using these products and my hair is thicker, shinier and less frizzy. I do have to use a lot of the shampoo because I have longer hair, but it is worth the results I am getting. I know everyone's hair is different and it has taken me a lot of tries to find a combination that worked for me, but if you have been told that your hair is catlike and the texture is dry and hard to style, this very well could work for you too. For the past few years my thyroid and other physical factors have damaged my hair beyond belief. I have tried everything. I have had strict standards. Natural products. No sulfates. No silicones. No this. Oh, but a must is no animal testing. I found the Joico in the gold for damaged hair, but on a whim, despite knowing this has sulfates, bought this due to the moisture, which is what my hair has been lacking. In fact, I got mad at myself, started to return it, but kept it and tried it anyway. The conditioner is awesome. I found a sale at Ulta for Buy 2, Get 1 Joico product Free and bought a spray, a blow-out cream, and smoothing product. My hair does not feel weighed down, junky, or greasy. For the first time in ages, it is not poofy frizzy! Though I think all the products work perfect together, the smoothing product helps a lot (dry and/or wet hair). And, the price was perfect.

I cannot believe how quickly this product revived my seriously dry, brittle, damaged hair. I am 3 months post partum, and the changing hormones, combined with the dry winter conditions, created a disastrous hair situation. It was static-y, brittle, and so dry that I could barely run a brush through it. I asked my hairdresser friend for a recommendation to help this situation, and this is what she recommended. After the first use, my hair is significantly smoother and more manageable. I haven't found it overly heavy on my hair, either, which I appreciate, as I have very fine hair already, without a lot of volume. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to improve the condition of their hair!! Also, the price was so much better than other similar products that I was considering!

This shampoo/conditioner set was good but not great. My hair was really, really damaged and I wasn't expecting this to work miracles but just to help me make my hair more manageable. The conditioner especially help with the manageability because my hair was so dried out from bleaching it. It smelled great and I liked catching little whiffs of it through out the day. The reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 is I don't think it works better then other slightly less expensive products. I got the same perks from TIGI's resurrection shampoo/conditioner set but I can get a 1 liter set of TIGI for about the same price as Joico's 10.1 oz. set. I would recommend this product to others but I don't know if I personally will buy it again.

Very good for dry hair

The shampoo did not lather well for me but maybe that’s because I use products in my hair. I have naturally curly/wavy hair past my shoulders which I detangle in the shower and the conditioner was fairly useless for this; detangling will require double or triple quantities to lubricate enough. I’m disappointed with the scent of the shampoo and conditioner, which I find soapy, almost like a medicated cream scent or perfumed talcum powder. I would not believe these are from the same company that produces the sweet, musky, floral, fruity and distinctive scents found in KPAK and the old Joico Shine Enhancer spray. My hair is weighted down compared to before using the products so the curl/wave from using the blow dryer diffuser didn’t really set as normal. The colour of the products is very pale pearly blue, almost white. One positive is almost no scalp residue as happens with cheap products. For the lower price, Matrix Moisture Me Rich S&C (blue bottles) exceed for me, and for a bit more, I’d go with KPAK or Biolage or KMS (Curl Up, etc.)... This product beats any store brands for me, but I’m not thrilled for the aforementioned reasons.

Joico is a great salon quality line that I really like. You can usually find a shampoo/conditioner combo for right aroun £18-21 which is always a plus. This shampoo lathers really nicely but I seem to need to use a lot of the conditioner in order to be happy. I also use the K-Pak hair mask to finish my hair off and it’s always so silky smooth. Too bad I don’t feel that same way by just using the conditioner. All in all it’s a good deal.

Wouldn’t use any other product - great value in this size. Bottles quite heavy and hard to handle when wet so recommend dispensing in to smaller bottles. My hairdresser always comments on the condition of my hair. Thanks to this my hair has really grown. It’s also transformed my 10 year old daughters hair which has now really started to thicken - that’s due to its condition and less breakage rather than the product doing anything to make the individual hair strands thicker. Highly recommended.
