Spice and Wolf, Vol. 11 (light novel): Side Colors II Kindle Edition

My son is a huge anime lover. We watched spice and wolf together and loved the series. So when he found the light novels he wanted them. So I have been buying them In groups of 5 to 8 for holidays and now for his birthday. Great price and fast shipping.

The book itself is amazing and I highly recommend reading it. However it has exterior damage and was dirty. The cover also didn't fully match the rest of the series making it stick out when kept together with the other volumes. Might have to buy another volume 11 to match it to the rest of my collection in quality, cover, and how well kept it is. The volumes that I've already had for a couple of years at this point and have already read are much better kept and look better.

I love this series. For the most part things move along pretty well but sometimes they drag along. The good outweighs the bad. It's fun to watch the interactions between Lawrence and Holo and now Col.

I've been a longtime S&W fan, having watched the anime and read the light novels up to Vol. 10. The stories are, as usual, truly excellent, but what concerns me about these translations done by Yen Press is the increasing number of grammatical and spelling errors, especially in their later volumes. For example, my recent order from Amazon of Vols. 11 to 13 of the novels arrived today. While unboxing the books, I picked up Vol. 11, flipped it open to a random page (146), and read a sample paragraph about a third the way down the page. Here it is, quoted verbatim:"Neither Fleur not Milton were unused to writing with quill pens, but Hans was clearly in a different class altogether. Wil even bothering to sit down, he had the strongest and clearest hand of anyone present--even elegant. And as proof of the agreement that the three of them now shared, he wrote the usual godly phrase beneath the signatures."So the very first paragraph I randomly picked to read in the novel contained two spelling errors and a garbled, possibly incomplete sentence. Yen Press, you seriously, SERIOUSLY need to hire some competent proofreaders for this translation project!

I really enjoy the story. Both the development of the main character,s and the others those they encounter within the story are well done.

This book consists of three short stories that happen between major plot points in the series. And I really do mean "short," I was able to read this book entirely in one sitting."Wolf and the Golden Promise" and "Wolf and the Verdant Detour," are two fluff stories that feature Lawrence and Holo on various small side adventures."The Black Wolf's Cradle" does not have Lawrence or Holo in it at all, and is about a young Eve Bolan training to become a merchant, and in my opinion, is the best out of the three stories.My only problem with this book is the terrible, juvenile, mismatched illustrations (art pieces are on the wrong pages, and the art itself looks like something a junior high student made after reading some "How To Draw Manga For Beginners!" books), but I don't read this series for the art.

I like the story of this series.

If you enjoyed the anime but were left wanting more from the non-conclusive ending that it had then I can't recommend the Spice&Wolf light novels enough. Continue the adventures of Holo and Laurence and enjoy the journey!

In diesem Buch werden mehrere Spin-offs der Hauptgeschichte erzählt.Sie sind okay, wenn man noch etwas mehr zu bestimmten Charakteren lesen will, aber für die Hauptgeschichte komplett unnötig.SIe waren für mich jetzt eher weniger interessant als die eigentliche Hauptgeschichte.

It's a Spice and Wolf book. What's not to love!
