Went on a 3 hour road trip and the straps never loosened.

If you're mounting these onto a truck bed, do yourself a favor and go buy stainless sheet metal screws #12 x 3/4 - use a 5/32 drill bit for pilot holes. Using the screws that came with the brackets was an exercise in pain and frustration mounting these into the truck bed of my 2006 Ford F-150. Literally 4 of the 8 screws broke on my and had to be drilled out. Using a hammer driver the heads sheared off in a 9/64 pilot hole once the screws seized up on the metal. I had to drill them out and broke my 9/64 bit in the process. Going up to the next size bit (5/32) the screws would not grip the sheet metal at all. Home Depot #12 x 3/4" stainless steel sheet metal screws to the rescue! They not only completed the job in just a minute or two, but they grabbed the truck bed metal solid and wrenched the bracket down tight!
