Dragons, I'm In
Val Thorvald has formed a fragile alliance with the dragon lord Zav. But now a new dragon has shown up, and heโs out to get Zav, and doesnโt mind taking out Val if she gets in the way. Then her friend Nin who makes Val's magical weapons and ammunition, asks for help with the competitors who are trying to drive her out of business. Val's home keeps getting ransacked by dark elves, and her life is getting more complicated by the day. I really enjoy Valโs sarcastic wit and her irreverant banter with the very powerful dragon that scares everyone else but her. I like that Zav is starting to warm up to Val, whether he wants to or not, and her boss, Colonel Willard, is tolerating her as well. In fact, you might say Willard is even becoming something of a friend. And of course thereโs the magnificent tiger, Sindari, who is always up for a battle and has Valโs back, although heโs always got something to say about her activities and choices. This is a fun series and Iโm looking forward to reading more.

Hooked
I usually get board with series that stick to the same main characters due to predicting what comes and all books fight the same foe stupidly. So...Thank you for being interesting and kick butt and curve ball city..I look forward to the next installment of the Death Before Dragons Soap Opera Book Series

As always...
...Lindsay does not disappoint. I've read most of her series, with the Emperor series retaining favorite status. But,not by a large margin as I truly love ALL of the books I've read to date. That being said, let's talk about her new "fantasy meets current America" adventure series.Lindsay does a great job with world building, but, in this case, it's more of using an existing place (Washington state, esp around Seattle) and creating places within an already existing world and making it her own. And she does so well that, even if you've never been to Seattle, you end up feeling like you've lived there.Characters...I love that Lindsay always has a strong, independent, yet loveable woman as one of the 2 principal characters...and although your pretty sure a romance will develop, and usually does, she works it into the story in such a way that it adds to the story without taking over.In this story, Val is a special type of bounty hunter (I guess you could call her that). Her job I'd to track down magical creatures who are breaking the law, and eliminate them. Zav is a dragon who comes to our world looking to capture and take back bad guys for trial and "rehabilitation". Of course they meet, and clash!!I love Val's snarky attitude and her willingness to go toe to toe with a dragon. You fall in love with her character as she struggles with issues stemming from distancing herself from family, friends, would be friends...Any one that the bad guys can use to hurt her, while wishing that she could have someone to be with. In spite of her size, strength (will, magical, and physical), she is quite relatable. The other very quirky characters that become part of her world are so much fun and I can't wait for the rest of these books so that I can watch them grow as the dysfunctional, weird, awesome family that we all wish we had...including the vampire who yearns for her blood.๐Read this series, you won't be disappointed.Oh, and you'll have a larger vocabulary.

The dialogue is so well done.
Interesting and funny at the same time. I really enjoyed this one from start to finish. More to come I hope.

A Reading the Paranormal Review
Okay. Val and her chaos walking approach to life and other magical beings now has not one, but TWO dragons on her radar. Or maybe she's on their radar. Regardless, things are getting messier and she's smack-dab in the middle of it all. She's also determined to help one of the few people in town who she considers a friend with her little werewolf problem. Which, actually, leads to more interactions with said dragons.HA. Man, Val has a complicated, dangerous lifestyle. On the plus side, she's making friends. She also has a dragon who seems to be coming around (somewhat) to her sass and sarcasm. That last part might be a slight overstatement. Zav still doesn't understand why Val doesn't give him the respect all other beings give dragons, but he's not getting incandescently angry whenever she talks back. Which is a start, at least.So. Two dragons, double the problems. Magical friends, even more magical enemies, and a whole lot of trouble whenever Val turns around. GOOD TIMES!-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal

Riveting tales
Just, started this series of books by Lindsay buroker. A new dimension for this, author but no less riveting. Once I start the book I don't want to put it down until it's finished. The magic she imbues in the dragons and their human helpers seems to infect her readers as well. Now fir the third in the series with a fourth to follow, brilliant.

Vals relationships get stranger. A vampire, a dwarf, a dragon and a tiger are all amazing characters and I'm looking forward to book 3

Another great book
Excellent storyline had to force myself to take breaks in Reading this book as I do with all Lindsay's books. My only fear is that when I finish one book the next book in the series isn't available.

Brilliant read
I so enjoyed following Val on her trails. Brilliantly written as I was finding great difficulty in putting this story dawn. Sad that a dragon had to die as there are so few left now.
