At last. A decent coffee from a reusable pod. If you use steel reusable pods that come with metal lids, you will not get a good result. They don’t work well with the fine ground of coffee needed to obtain a good, frothy crema. Metal lids also take up more space inside what is already a smaller capsule than the disposable ones. The extra space freed up by using seals can now be filled with coffee. It’s just a couple of millimetres but that is quite a bit of extra coffee and makes a big difference. Also the pressure buildup and release works much better with foil seals, giving you a better tasting coffee with more crema. Last but not least, metal lids are hard to clean. Their inner spaces cannot be accessed. You cannot see what’s in there, and they must surely get filled up with who knows what debris and mould. Thorough cleaning probably requires bleach — not good! Foil seals like these are single-use only, so obviously cost more than multi-use metal lids, but they are a price worth paying and can be recycled easily. Bin your unhygienic metal lids and use foil seals instead. So much better!

Haveing read the reviews for this item I was wary of buying but I was so fed up of the amount of plastic every time i emptied the catch tray,I have an nespresso innissi machine,so finding refillable pods suitable for the machine has been a bit of a kerfuffle to say the least,so away I go and brought this item,lovely fast delivery, it arrived 12hrs later, already had some coffee beans anyway,I found that haveing the grinds a little bit coarse (grind time 3/4 seconds) helps the water pressurise through the beans better,Haveing read some people saying that two foil lids were better than one I thought I’d try with one first and see what happens,personally I thought it was an ok cup of coffee,tried the first one with sweetener and no milk and lovely,the second with no suger or milk and again lovely cup of coffee and very flavoursome,however I am useing Arabic coffee beans and grinding them as I require,this i presume means a much better coffee,Highly recommend this item and will most definitely be buying again from this seller

It is possible to get a good espresso using these.. conducted an experiment today using two foil lids vs the normal one.The cup on the left is one foil, the right two foils. Both tamped using the back of the spoon supplied in the pack.It does seem to pressurise better with two foils and the crema is thicker and lasts longer when left to sit.You can see the penetration through the foil when doubled up is more like that of an original aluminium capsule too.

this is my second purchase of this item. his time I got it for my freind after I have used it earlier. I have used it successfully to enjoy other coffe brand . its quite easy to use. and is cost effective as well. it's a very good option.

I found these easy to use and despite being concerned that the sticky lids wouldn’t work well they do.My problem is I just don’t seem to be able to get a decent strength cup of coffee out of the pods. I’m using strong coffee and it is finely ground, I don’t know if anyone has any suggestions regarding this. The pods are easy to use and I would like to stick with it for a while but I can’t see me sticking with them if I can’t get a decent strength cup of coffee.

I am using them for my refillable pods Sealpod for nespresso inissia.

I find other capsules better, because the holes in the bottom are not very smartly made so that not all the water gets through (less coffee, and more water down in the container where the used capsules are. However, I will buy the set to get the foil lids, and then chose another brands capsule.
