Twelve South BookBook for iPad Air, Brown |Vintage Leather Book case w/Typing Angle and Display Stand for iPad Air (1st gen.)

In my opinion, this is the best-looking case for the iPad Air. I've seen a lot of other cases for the iPad, but they always look cheap or dorky. The leather on this one has a great distressed appearance and it's not too bulky. The quality is really nice and I always get lots of compliments when people see it. Some other reviews mention that when it's holding the iPad up at a low angle for typing, the leather prevents the user from hitting the space bar with their thumb. I have used it quite a bit for typing at this angle and never once had a problem with the space bar. I suppose your mileage may vary.I really want to give this five stars, but there are just a couple of things that give me pause. While I like the angle it props up the iPad at for typing, the upright display angle is a little too upright for most of my uses. I can't find a way to prop it at a different angle that is at all secure. There's also not a magnet in the case to automatically turn the iPad off and on when you close and open the cover, which is more irritating than I thought it might be.Obviously neither of these issues are deal-breakers. Overall, I'm still extremely happy with my BookBook and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

The Twelve South BookBook for iPad Air fits the iPad Air 2. The camera cut-out is a little too far to the right for the new Air 2 and partially obscures the camera lens, but I widened it with some small, sharp scissors. Per the Twelve South company, they had no plans to make a new case for the Air 2, but said the current Air case fits fine except for the camera opening. I got the brown leather version. It came packaged in a cute 'book bag' that immediately made me feel like I was in grade school again! The case itself is very sturdy, with nicely colored and distressed leather covering a 'hard cover' that provides protection to the iPad in case of drops. There is an interior 'sleeve' in butter-soft leather that encases the iPad. It is attached in the corner closest to the zipper, so you can't accidentally drop the iPad out of the BookBook. The side next to the book spine detaches via two press studs, allowing you to flip it out to take photos. The zipper and pull tags are of high quality, and the whole case looks lovely, and is very nice to hold. I've used BookBook cases on my iPhones for many years, and I know first hand how well they stand up to daily wear and tear - they just get better, softer and have more character. This was a splurge, but I’m glad I did it. The case has protected my iPad from a few drops and falls and I don’t know how many thieves the case has saved me from! It’s great camouflage: what thief will steal a book?I had a previous iPad with a typical iPad case, someone liberated that from a friend’s car. This case just looks like a old book. I’ve seen many people give it a glance and move on. No one has bothered me, and I teach in some rough areas.Some reviews say the case “smells funny”. Umm, kids, that’s LEATHER. It’s the real deal. And once out of the shipping box, the scent fades after a day or two.This is a classy, robust, safe case that looks like an old classic book. It’s a little expensive for an iPad case, but so is theft insurance, and this thing does the same thIng while looking really nice.

In short, I've never been so disappointed by a product than I am over this overpriced product. I was so excited about it, but I won't buy a Twelve South product again. I have the BookBook for both my MacBook and iPhone, both of which were disappointing, but at least are functional. For the money, I think the BookBook could use more padding to protect my iPad as well as give it more of a bookish appearance and safely secure the item. The thing that really ruined it, though? None of the holes are cut properly! The camera lens was completely obscured, the home button obscured just enough to make it difficult to use, and the On/Off button can just barely be seen through the fabric of the cover. I can't return the item because I was dumb enough to think I could live with the buttons being covered and chose to cut the lens hole to allow for use of the camera. This was a complete waste of money.

This is the fifth Twelve South product I have owned and it is as superb as the other cases. What I like particularly is the factor of the zipper closure which provides protection in any weather conditions....sand, rain, snow dust. The leather feels smooth and rich to the touch, it wears well and when it is held close to your nose still retains the essence of leather. Highly recommend Twelve South and their many wonderful cases.

Love the Book Book, I have the cover for my iPhone and I wanted a similar cover for my iPad. These seem to be rare to find so I was excited to find it on Amazon.

the case is beautifully made, though the inside flap where the ipad is acutally held doesnt quite fit right, so the center button is hard to get to and it seems like it could get worn out quickly

Got this for my wife as a Christmas gift as she had the bookbook! She fell in love as soon as she put it on. The leather is very nice, and the fact that it zippers is a great feature. Definitely protects the IPAD well! I like the standing feature as well! I would buy again!

It's actually very nice. The only con is the price, just a bit too much. Also is not very comfortable to take pictures, I do not use the iPad's camera very often so that's ok with me, but someone who want to use it to make pics or videos might find it annoying when using this case.Feels nice, the zip I found on mine is good, I read other reviews where they say the zip is cheap and doesn't work nicely. Mine does.Also there is just 2 or 3 positions so if you fancy being able to stand it on a wide variety of positions this one is not for you. But if you want a really cool case, that also feels protective enough for normal commuting, work to home, etc., and looks awesome, then this is the one.Pros: Feels great on your hands, looks amazing, able to close the case COMPLETELY and protect from moist, rain, dust, etc. (up to a limit, it is not water proof), real leather, feels sturdy for what it is (a soft case), its appearance is actually very similar to a book (on a close-up you can see the zip though) and it can be mistaken for one if kept closed and discrete.Cons: Easily scratched if not careful (the outer leather I mean), very uncomfortable to use the back camera, not many choices to change the angle of vision (lack of positioning options), you have to make a little cut for the back camera if you are using the iPad Air 2, and also the speakers won't be perfectly aligned to the holes on the leather if you use the IPad Air 2, things that I don't really mind but maybe you do!

Ich habe schon eine Bookbook-Hülle für mein MacBook Pro, kenne also die Qualität schon - und meine (hohen) Erwartungen wurden erfüllt. Ich liebe diese besondere Optik und Haptik der Boobook-Hüllen, die aussehen und sich anfühlen wie ein altes, in Leder gebundenes Buch. Die Verarbeitung ist hochwertig, der Reißverschluss ist leichtgängig. Für mich ein absolutes Must-have - trotz des ziemlich gesalzenen Preises.Ein kleines Manko gibt es allerdings: Die beschränkte Flexibilität. Hochkant gibt es keine sinnvolle Aufstellmöglichkeit, man kann es nur wie ein Buch in der Hand halten (was auf die Dauer etwas anstrengend sein kann). Im Querformat gibt es zwar zwei verschiedene Aufstellmöglichkeiten (leicht geneigt und stark geneigt). Die stark geneigte Einstellung ist meines Erachtens aber nicht gut gelöst, da zu steil (ist leider viel steiler, als in der Beschreibung abgebildet). Daher gibt's von mir einen Stern abgezogen. Dennoch, ein tolles Produkt!Tipp: Wem die leichte Neigung zu schwach ist (z.B. Bei Reflexionen) dem empfehle ich, den Buchdeckel (wie auf der Abbildung) ganz nach hinten umzuschlagen, dadurch wird der Winkel etwas höher.Nachtrag: Für eine zusätzliche Neigung habe ich mir ein schwarzes Kartonkärtchen (22cm x14cm) angefertigt, das ich hinten einstelle.

The creme de creme, the Rolls Royce of iPad covers. By far the coolest and poshest cover on the market. Top quality finish in leather. This is my fourth Book Book cover and I have been impressed every time. They are not cheap, but you pay for a quality finish that is built to last . In addition, 99% of people really think this cover is an old book. I have left them tables of coffee shops while I have gone to the toilet etc and they are always still there when I come back as nobody wants to steel am old book! Finally the last well and you don't have to worry about the wear and tear marks and coffee stains on the outer cover as it's meant to look old and used. Highly recommended six stars :)

My partner was really happy with his Christmas gift, and it did arrive on time, thank you! The only comment he made was he would have liked it to have an area inside for his phone too, as he carried them together in his last case. Maybe an extra inside separate compartment. All in all though has a lovely look and feel, getting lots of compliments too!
