Pacsafe Citysafe 400GII Hobo Bag – WALNUT
Dimensions: 16” wide x 13” tall x 7” deepCapacity: about 1456 cubic inches or about 24 LitersThis soft-sided bag fits well into my travel needs; it will stuff into the overhead bin or sit nicely on the floor in front of me. Since the exterior is nylon, it’s easy care. Gotta love the built-in mesh anti-theft quality. Heavy? Yep, but love in a bag like this weighs more than my little handbags or my helmet bag that’s larger than this bag.Alongside my 16-Liter ruck (used as luggage), this Hobo Bag will carry my EDC and quick-grab items (meal bars, bottled water, etc) and will see more traffic than my ruck. When my orientation is completed, this Hobo will work well my training month on the road: no worries about limited space in the vehicle. Once training is completed, all my weekly gear will fit into this Hobo.I’m such the minimalist: my one bag carry mentality mandates a well-constructed, soft-sided, multi-purpose bag like the Hobo. I’ll be swapping this out with other bags I have, but for my initial travels coming up, this size and functionality is perfect (plus Amazon has the best value for this discontinued bag). For anyone on the fence, look at the dimensions (take out your tape measure and compare with the largest handbag you own), consider the added weight of the Exo-Mesh materials, determine what your trip is for and how long you will be carrying this bag on your shoulder or cross-body, what you’ll be packing, and if you’ll be stacking this atop your rolling luggage telescopic handle.Field Test Results: I rucked around for one mile and here are my findings:• Loaded with EDC gear weighing about 10 total pounds (PSK, 22-oz water bottle, meal bar, utility pouch, Spark Notebook, Maxpedition Pouch, pepper spray, TOPS Baja 3.0)• Carried cross body with the shoulder strap adjusted to the shortest length and bag along my back• Shoulder strap with cabling on the edges never cut into my shoulder either cross body or one shoulder wear• Shoulder strap pad was enough cushioning to keep the cabling from cutting into my shoulder• Adjustability of the strap for different bag heights against my body --- I had to follow the 4-step instruction pamphlet, but still need to figure out the function of the snaps along the shoulder strap• Color blends in well with the environment so I did not stick out from “the crowd” (wasn’t a “target” for theft). Really love the walnut color.• Contents protection in weather --- the perfect day to field test this bag was yesterday when it was sunny, then rainy, and very windy, but I tested it today, the day after it arrived. The weather was okay so I couldn’t test the water resistance.• Textile against clothes --- was it noisy? I like stealth, and no, it was not noisy at all against the nylon flight jacket I wore.• Organization – EDC and quick-grab items stashed in either side pocket (ie 22-oz insulated water bottle, keychain with EDC doo-dads, and meal bars)• Interior lining – did this help me see the contents better? Not really. The lining is a light color but subdued. I know the contents by heart and only carry essentials, so the lining was enough of a contrast against my darker colored items.Overall I am pleasantly surprised with the huge size and ability to load it up depending on where I am taking it. The weight of the bag itself is nominal; I typically ruck (exercise) with 15 – 20 pounds on my back anyway. The most comfortable carry when fully loaded with work gear for onsite work is cross body as field tested. I wouldn’t suggest rucking with this bag (although it’s durable enough to withstand my rough handling) only because one shoulder carry (even if it were a sling) is unbalanced weight distribution, making the user tired quicker than rucking with a rucksack. For training next year on the road, I won’t have as much gear in it so I’ll wear it cross body or one shoulder.FAST shipping and no hidden damages in-transit. I’ve bought Pacsafe before and gifted the items to family, but this bag is all mine. It transitions well from workhorse to travel bag with no problem at all.

Great travel bag
I have used this bag on two international trips now, and I would recommend it. It has compartments inside to help organize things, and the outside pockets are useful for things unlikely to get stolen, like a water bottle. This bag fits well under the seat in front of you on a plane. You can zip it up and then put an extra clip on the zipper to keep hands out of it while you sleep on the plane or are processing through all the checkpoints at the airport. The clip is on the inside of the strap, so it would be a difficult maneuver to get it undone while you're wearing it. The strap cannot be easily cut.The bag itself is a little heavier than a normal bag due to the very sturdy construction and metal components.I use this in conjunction with the hip bag by the same company, keeping money, passport, boarding pass and other items I want to keep handy in the hip bag. I keep my laptop in the Hobo Travel Bag.One note: the strap is adjustable. However, it's not totally intuitive at first. To adjust it, link the detachable end of the strap to one of three metal "D" rings on the side of the purse. One of the D rings is down inside the outside pocket. For example, I use the shortest setting by snapping into the D ring in the pocket. I thread the strap through the other two D rings, and then secure it with the snap tabs on the strap. Works great once you see how it works. The color is a nice neutral -- I would call it a dark-to-medium taupe. The liner is a light tan, which makes it easy to find stuff. This bag is big enough to carry two laptops, to give you an idea of it's size. It's wider and less "U" shaped than the photo suggests. In my opinion, it is an attractive and sophisticated looking bag.

The good and bad
I purchased this bag for my 9 day trip to Italy this summer. This is my first ever PacSafe bag.THE GOOD: There was room for everything and more in it, which i loved.Made an awesome carry-on bag.I was grateful my bag came with instructions on how to adjust the shoulder strap, which might have been slightly confusing otherwise.I did like that the shoulder strap had some material over it for comfort, but the strap itself is not wider enough to be comfortable. :/I like all of the safety features; exomesh, metal in the straps, and zipper locks, RFID, which all worked great for me.Ive read about people complaining about the size and shape of the bag, but im 5"6' and it was fine. and obviously if you have a BIG, CLOTH, bag and stuff a ton of crap in it, its not going to have a 'nice shape' :PTHE BAD: With what little I had in the bad, [1 bottle of water, 2 small books, 1 spare hoodie, and my camera] the bag was VERY heavy, hurting my shoulder like crazy, and as a result I left it on the bus quite often. The bag is advertised as having a strap to fit over rolling luggage which it does. It did come in handy. However, that strap is buried inside the back pocket. To really use it you need to unzip both parts of the back pocket which makes that pocket nonfunctional when you are traveling through the airport. Plus, the bag has no external front zip pockets for organizing anything that is not valuable, but you would like to keep handy. Why??

This bag is amazing!
I decided to purchase a few pacsafe bags for everyday uses because I would rather take all the precautions to be safe and be at low risk to theft than become an easy victim. When I was in crowds, I would become paranoid checking my pockets and bags to make sure I still have all my things. This bag eases my mind. I went into these purchases choosing more security over attractiveness, but these bags, including this one, are really cute, slick and professional looking. This bag is water resistant, which was tested after putting a section of the bag under a running water tap, however it is obvious when you see it. The bag looks and feels like excellent quality. I chose this bag to be my winter/times-you-need-a-big-purse bag. I can fit my 13" macbook air easily inside the padded pocket. Actually, the whole bag feels a little padded. I really love this bag so much. I am confident enough to say that I recommend this bag.

Beautiful - does all the things I wanted. Not sure why they say it is not suitable for macbook - it fits very nicely.
