My eight-year-old daughter took several art camps over the summer break and really loved watercolor painting. She wasn't keen on using those 'add water to paint sets' that are sold in retail stores since it wasn't easy to mix the colors. She liked the tube watercolor paints that her art teacher was using and asked me if we could get an inexpensive set, so after browsing around here on Amazon and reading the reviews, I decided to get the Reeves Assorted 12 milliliter watercolor paint.For the price, I was surprised at the high quality of the paints. This set is made in China, but the colors go on smoothly with a great finish. My Grand Daughter is into painting and was tired of the "wet and use tray paint", she said it was for "little kids". So, I purchased this set for her and she absolutely loves it. The colors are vibrant and adhere to the surface well and the paint cleans up easily. She loves being able to mix her own colors in the plastic painting tray I also purchased separately. It's a wonderful hobby that keeps her occupied with something besides video games.

I have been using a variety of brands of watercolor for almost two years and I was not very satisfied with the color quality, until I tried Reeves Assorted 12-Milliliter Watercolor Paints. Man, Reeves is packed with wonderful effects and texture.I have been using it for 4 months now. Aside from the great quality, it comes with a very affordable price. Truly great for artists who are short on cash, or even just a cheap set of tube watercolors to practice with. It gives artists, both beginners and experienced artists, a nice assortment of colors to choose from. The colors seemed very stable, and the paint matched the color of the label on the tube. The range of colors and pigmentation are great. I enjoyed using the watercolors while I am practicing my painting techniques. Same goes with Art Tools to add a more vibrant hue. I think they can be a perfect match.For best results, I have discovered that you can mix the color and style. You can effortlessly achieve the shade desired. This is definitely a fair choice for people who are looking to experiment with different types of watercolors. My package also arrived on time and in good shape. I think that's a plus for them. I would absolutely recommend Reeves Assorted 12-Millilter Watercolor Paint, 18-Pack to all artists who want a great painting result.

I am teaching beginning watercolor painting to children, ages 7, 8 and 9. The Reeves Assortment of Watercolors is perfect for this painting class. The tube colors are pure and fluid and easily mixed. It is a great product for busy little hands and inquisitive little minds to learn more about the medium and interesting techniques used in watercolor painting.

I am not an expert painter, but I enjoy experimenting with art for relaxation, make home-made greeting carts, etc. My review of the product is from my own experience level and is based on how well these paints lasted over a period of time. In all, I am very satisfied with my purchase.I bought this set of paints in 2015, and they still work just as well today. Even after a month-long period of no use, the paints maintain the same consistency. While the paint may separate a tiny but, this is easily fixed by gently rolling or shaking the tubes. I was so pleased with these paints that I purchased the same brand the "gouache" style. These paints have travelled with me throughout Central America and were always there to offer me a few hours of reliable entertainment and relaxation. Thank you Reeves! Great paints for anyone who likes to watercolor as a hobby.

The item description says it confirms to ASTM safety standard, so I bought it for my 6 yr old son. But when I received it, on the back of the item, it says the ASTM compliance only applies to the color, and there is a warning :"dangerous for the environment". I was very upset.. My son started using it before I saw the warning, so I can't return it. I'll never buy it again

My daughter and I were trying to decide between two listings on Amazon that are both for Reeves Watercolor Paint of 18 color set. This item is listed for $14.96, while the other is for $8.89, as of April 17, 2015. The photo of this listing shows the tubes of the watercolor paints to be more like "zinc" or some kind of metal tubes, with printed paper wrapped around them. This is what I'm used to use when I was a kid. The other listing has 2 inconsistent photos. One looks similar to this photo, but a 2nd photo shows the tubes are entirely made of plastic with the labels printed. Given the inconsistency of the other listing, we thought this would be more trustworthy and decided to buy this item, despite that it costs more.Turns out all the tubes are made of plastic and they look exactly the same as the 2nd photo in the other listing. If we knew this is what we would get, we would have gone with the other listing.I cannot be sure that the quality of the watercolor paint is identical between these 2 listings. Just want to share the experience if you happen to have the same thought process, and want to pay a little more for the "potentially" higher quality paints. Chances are, they are the same product.

The paint is bright and thick, worked well on 110lb cardstock for wedding invitations. Although the tubes were small, they last a long time. I don't really paint recreationally so I can't speak to quality, but they worked perfectly for my needs.
