Q: does this nailer come with a hard case?

I purchased this nailer for my contractor and I believe that it did come in a case but I do remember that there were no extra nails with the purchase.

Q: Does this work well for hardwoods, I see that it has depth adjustment is it effective?

Yes, we have used in on cherry mouldings and it does fine. I don’t have a lot of comments on depth adjustment, as we haven’t had to play with it much.

Q: Would this pin nailer be suitable for small projects like building birdhouses and feeders?

yes and no. Here's why there no head on the pins/nails. They just hold it place for the glue to dry. what is really good though if it a fancy bird feeder/house it wont show the head and you wont have to fill with putty. If its fairly big i would say no. But for small trim pieces like padding it out or putting decrative pieces i say yes. What i mean is you'll build it out of 1x2 for the frame the put nice trim pieces on. thats where it'd be great. for the frame id use something bigger finish nailer (15 to 16 ga). You can even check out a braid nailer. Hitachi braid nailer be where I'd start. That be good for small project. just make sure that you get one thats versatile meaning yuo can use a veriety of different size nails. Make sure you glue all joints. Don't get me wrong the pin nailer great but just dont know if it gonna be strong enough for a bird house. Hope this help.
