Missing Feature
The raving reviews and convenient footprint of this treadmill sold me very quickly. This was a leap of faith since this product was not on the floor of any Denver area health equipment store. The design is sturdy, clean and well-engineered. The functionality of the control panel met all of my requirements....so I thought. For my purposes, only heart rate and an elapsed time display are necessary. I believe that these parameters are elemental to achieve aerobic value from exercise. Every treadmill in the galaxy displays this information side by side.....except this treadmill. Your display choices are CALORIES BURNED next to the TIMER or HEART RATE next to STEP COUNT. I don't understand the need for step count, sorry. To see either of the combinations, you must press the MODE button and switch back and forth. When you remove either hand from the side bars containing the pulse sensors, the heart rate disappears. So, unless you can activate the mode button with your nose while running at 6 miles per hour, you will lose the heart rate display as you switch then wait until the pulse sensor stabilizes. While there are programs that will sustain a constant heart rate, I want to see the number so I can manipulate speed and incline during manual control. This is an amazing oversight for a very high quality product. I am working with the distributor to find a solution...other than to buy a separate heart rate monitor or timer. When this happens, I will raise the rating from a 3 to a 5.Post Script ... The distributor sent an older control console that displayed heart rate and timer side-by-side. The unit was used, cosmetically blemished and had different exercise profiles than the originally shipped console. A manual detailing these profiles was not included. I sent it back and bought a nice count down/count up time at Target. My rating will remain a 3.

I recommend this treadmill
I (Chris' wife) purchased this treadmill in late November 2010 for myself (45 yo) and my 14 yo daughter. Delivery was a bit slow due to winter storms. On arrival, with basic delivery, it is delivered to the door/garage but is not brought in the house. However, I put it on a garden wagon and wheeled it around to the basement doors and dragged it in the house. With some effort, my daughter and I were able to get it set up (more help would be welcome, but it was doable for the two of us). We took care during assembly, following other reviews here, to be sure not to accidentally cut the internal wires that thread through the frame and up to the monitor. Everything worked well right from the start. The treadmill purred along flawlessly for both of us. I'm about 175 pounds, and the treadmill had no issues with me walking or running on it. My only complaint is that the monitor gives speed in minutes per mile and I prefer miles per hour. I made up a little sheet and attached it to the treadmill so I could make easy conversions. We have been applying silicon to the belt monthly. We use it for about 7 hours per week in the winter and when we don't want to run outside (rainy, too muddy, humid, etc). After a couple months, the machine started to vibrate. I contacted customer service by email. They got back to me the next day with recommendations. When those didn't work, I contacted them again. Again, they responded within a day. They are now sending a replacement motor and a technician. I'll have to update again, but I have every reason based on my interactions so far, to believe that this will be resolved with the machine purring along again soon.I only gave 4 stars because it is not as rugged as a treadmill at a health club and I don't want to give a false impression that it's the best treadmill available. However, teh health club machines cost at least three times as much. For the price I think this is an excellent product and I would recommend it to others for home use.

Works as advertised.
Good unit..a couple of big pluses--it has both an incline and decline feature, which is why we bought it. It is also very quiet, you really do not even hear it running. Programming is vintage 90's and if you are a large person (250+) it is not as stable as I would like. But it is fully functional and we love it! I would certainly recommend.

good no frills treadmill
Does what I need, basic functions, speed and incline controls and timer/speed displays are all set up well. Noise level is low allowing me to listen to the TV or radio easily.2 Negatives - I don't like what are supposed to be cup holder/remote control bins. Very poor design. I tie-wrapped an improvised remote control container to the handle. Static shocks have been frequent. Is there a good way to preclude this such as a specific grounding technique?Overall very satisfied.

Great product!
This is a recent purchase and, so far, I am very pleased. The treadmill is sturdy and quiet. The display panel is easy to read and the manual settings allow you to go at your own pace and adjust accordingly. The safety key feature is an excellent idea. However, I would suggest getting an extra key in case the original gets misplaced as the machine will not work without it. It folds and unfolds with minimal effort. Great product. Hope it lasts for many years.

Good, basic euipment
There are other treadmills out there with a lot of extra features that are nice but they are also massive. The TR 2000-HRC does everything you need quietly and with a minimum footprint. I love that the motor box is not in front as I alway bumped into that with my last machine. I wish it had an MP3 jack but I am thrilled with the choice of this machine. The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of an MP3 jack.
