I purchased this upscale Waterman pen for my daughter-in-law for her recent promotion. It is beautifully designed, slim and is a fine point pen with black ink. It also came in a luxury gift box. I highly recommend this Waterman rollerball pen to anyone looking for a gift for that special person.

I liked the brushed stainless steel gold trim version of this pen so much that I had to buy the black lacquer, too. A very slim, light weight, elegantly-styled pen. Diameter at the grip is only about 8 mm, so may feel too small for men with large hands, but it's perfect for people like me who prefer a thinner, lighter metal-body pen. I really don't care for the included "Fine" Waterman rollerball ink cartridge, which I would call "Bold." Fortunately, in addition to the Waterman refills that the pen is designed to use, this pen body will also accept Uni-Ball Jetstream or Pilot G-2 refills with no modification, and can use Uni-Ball Signo 207 or Pentel EnerGel refills if you trim a bit of plastic (about 2 mm) from the end of the refill. With this slim pen, a micro-fine 0.38mm Pilot G-2 refill is just about perfect for me. My two Waterman Hémisphères are my new favorite pens for business meetings or formal settings. Very nice gift box, too.Update 12/2/21: After adding the blue lacquer and the stainless steel chrome trim pens to my collection, I now own this pen in four finishes. In addition to the refills mentioned in my original review, the Hémisphère also takes Pilot Precise V5 RT rollerball refills with no modification, providing a finer point alternative for people who like rollerball ink refills.

Perfectly balanced, uses Pilot G2 refills (G2 was my go to pen), and looks like a million bucks!Writes way better than a Mont Blanc! I have been looking for a nice pen for years - I have a nice Cross roller ball but it's not this nice, I've used Mont Blancs, and all kinds of fountain pens, ink pens, markers, pencils, but this is the LAST pen I will buy (unless I wear it out or lose it!).If you are looking for a very classy roller ball pen, that feels great, looks great, writes great - this is THE pen!

This pen has some weight to it, is well balanced and is a great Christmas gift to those in the working sector. It writes amazing!I highly recommend this pen to anyone! Waterman is the best of the best!

I thought I would try a Waterman rollerball pen expecting a fine writing instrument and sorry to say it's not everything I had hoped for. I've spent less for many other pens that far outshines it. Still it's not terrible. The finish is good, a nice lacquer/enamel, the chrome is shiny and the clip functional. What it lacks is weight. It doesn't have the heft expected from a solid metal pen. It's also quite narrow, okay by me, but be warned. Worst of all is the refill. At times it feels great, but just when you think it has started to perform properly it will skip and do it repeatedly.The best thing about the pen and it's redeeming feature is that it will accept Pilot G2, Schmidt 888 and Pentel energel refills all truly wonderful refills. I haven't come across many reasonably well made pens that accept the Pilot and Schmidt refills, so for that alone this Waterman Hemisphere is a keeper for me. Put a Schmidt 888-F in it and imagine you're writing with a classic Paris made Waterman pen, not one from the Newell-Rubbermaid-Sanford-Parker-Waterman+? conglomerate.

Writes smoothly and without skips. Highly recommend.

This is a great pen if you are looking for an affordable luxury rollerball pen. It has a nice weight for easy handling, clean writing, and a solid construction. The ink flow when writing is very smooth.

Elegant shape, comfortable in the hand even for a small woman's hand. Excellent price for Waterman made in France. Beautiful for a gift or for yourself. Recommend.
