Good dashcam with software issues that need to be fixed...
Pros:- Does what it's supposed to, more or less.- Good video quality for the external camera and internal one in the daytime.- Compact form factor and useful internal camera swivel feature.- Long cord that can be tucked away alongside the window and panels for generally better look.- Upgrade-able software, that should eliminate all of the following cons:Cons:- Not so good night mode on the interior camera.- You can only get FHD on the external camera with 480p on the internal camera (you can't have FHD/720p, although you can have 720p/720p external/internal).- I had several occurrences when the camera didn't start automatically when I was en-route, I had to manually turn it on when I noticed (thank God nothing bad happened in that window).- Once you parked and turned the ignition off, the camera goes into the shutdown mode after 30 seconds of recording (configurable in settings). In those 30 seconds if you press the red button (emergency recording) on the bottom of the device, nothing happens. Which is weird, since you should be able to do that and the camera needs to continue recording on it's built-in battery.- It records videos in 1, 3, or 5 minutes chunks. During the recording, if you press the red emergency button, it places the video chunk that is being recorded into a separate folder on the SD card and it won't be overwritten. But if you want to save something that has just happened 10 seconds ago and the new video chunk has just started, you might miss it. Same thing if you are at the end of the video chunk and you want to save something that is about to happen. I think that if the video is 15 seconds or less and I hit emergency button, the previous video also needs to be saved. Same thing with being less then 15 seconds at the end of the current video for the next video chunk (for 3 minute video). And perhaps have it configurable in the settings (this "buffer" limit).- The price seems a bit high for the device and I feel like for that price you need to get a bigger SD card (32GB comes with it) and both suction cup and adhesive type mounts to see what works best for you.- I wasn't able to connect to the device over Wi-Fi.

Great dashcam
The media could not be loaded. Works as expected. I'm an Uber/Lyft driver and I needed something to record the inside of my vehicle's interior. But the infrared LEDs for the back camera arn't very bright. It doesn't light up the whole cab. So I bought a infrared illuminator that's used for CCTV cameras. Its tiny and does a great job lighting up the whole interior of my vehicle. You can find it here.https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001P2E4U4/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1Also, you'll need to get a 12 volt adapter for the IR illuminator. You can find that here.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0719DRLPB/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1The cameras, both front and rear, produce very high quality images. The front cam records at 1080p with a 130° field of view (I can actually see a car on the screen as I'm passing them) and the rear cam records at 720p (not sure what the field of view is on the rear but I can see the entire inside of the cab, all passengers). You can also take pictures while recording. It's also got WiFi and GPS. This also has a G sensor. It can sense if you get in a wreak, and start Emergency recording, to where that file won't be written over. You can stream and download videos directly to your phone or tablet with the free app. The GPS records the time, date and your current speed. You can turn the GPS off if you don't want to record your speed. lol It comes with a 32GB microSD card and it officially supports up to 64GB but I have a 128GB card in mine and it works fine, although about once per week it shows "memory card error" and I have to reformat it. Use only class 10 microSD cards. I love this little camera. I highly recommend it.Note:Amazon's video encoding is normally poor quality, so don't let the video be a deciding factor. you can see videos of this camera on YouTube.

Delivers on its promise
I'm a Lyft driver and recently escaped a serious accident when another driver sped through a red light and would have injured my passenger if not me had we collided. I have also witnessed numerous incidents with cars and pedestrians. All this convinced me a dashcam was in order to document events in case that evidence was needed. You know, see something say something. This device is wonderful for its price point and delivers what it promises. The daytime resolution of both lenses is crisp and awesome. The night vision of the forward "A" lens is very clear but the infrared of the "B" lens on the interior is not stellar in darkness but good enough. Guess you need to join Seal Team 6 or Army Rangers to get better toys. The wide angle of the forward "A" lens is great. It covers a huge swath, an entire six-lane road including sidewalks. What I haven't seen mentioned is that it seems to have anti-shake, meaning if you drive over a speedbump or along washboard or pot-holed pavement it holds the image steady. I'm not interested in spying on my passengers (never had a problem), but it is fun to go back later and replay some of the more enjoyable/memorable ride experiences. I mount this with the suction cup in the center of the windshield about 1/3 the way up. Works nicely for my purposes. Nice bit of kit.

Great dual camera with cabin safety and drivers door safety.
Great dual camera. I love the adjustable viewing angle of the inside camera for drivers door safety. The inside camera also captures the rear of the vehicle quite well through the back window. I did purchase a longer USB power cord separately which made for a nicer install.

DP 520. Almost perfect. 9th October 2015
Amazon have the wrong date on this. It should read 9th October 2015. The previous date was my original review for DP200.This is an excellent camera.I have been using the DP200 and was very satisfied with it but wanted a camera with GPS included and the fact that this DP520 is a dual camera is a bonus.True, the G Shock is a little overactive but I don't find this a problem as I look on this feature as a bit of added gimmick and will happily keep it disabled until Transcend bring out a firmware update to fix it.That aside, the camera is fantastic, even better than the DP200.The picture is clear and sharp on both cameras. The rear facing camera, unlike the Nextbase Dou model, does not have a zoom capability but, you don't need it. On playback on my PC, it was perfectly possible to read the license plate on the car behind me. The display gives a choice of 'Front', 'Rear' or 'Both' while you are driving. Both cameras are running all the time it is switched on and on playback, the front camera is 'A' and the rear camera is 'B'.Picture quality is perfect inside the car.It does not deserve the one star review and brief comment of the previous reviewer. If you want a fantastic camera at a reasonable price, buy this one !!
