This kit is great. The battery works fine. Its a direct replacement for the original and the instructions are easy to follow.The simple tool that comes with the kit is critical in opening the unit without breaking the plastic panels or scratching up the sides.I recommend it for anyone with a Garmin GPS. I have tried many Phone GPS apps but none of them are as good as my Garmin.Maybe I'm just old school.

The replacement kit and instructions were good. After installing the new battery the GPS began working as before. However, even though I leave the GPS plugged in, the battery monitor on the GPS never indicates the battery is fully charged.

Not sure what happened to my Nuvi 3790. Maybe it sat too long without use; maybe it was dropped one too many times. The battery has been low since it was new, so I could never risk the quick shut off because that ate battery time. This time I couldn't get anything. I attached it to my PC to try to save the Saved Locations. Nothing.Popped in a new battery and there's life!The video was good. I would have like a closeup of which end of the battery tab gets inserted. The top and the bottom look pretty similar.

Battery works good but don't fit like original battery had to lay upside down to install in order to get the wires to reach properly.

The battery in my Nuvi was soldered in. Trying to rig this I broke the connection. So if you want to use this, plan on unsoldering the old battery and soldering in the new. Don't try to disconnect the old battery or you will break the circuit board.

The battery has been in the GPS for a while now, but will not hold a charge for more than a couple hours.When new I was able to go most of the day on a full charge.Not sure if the problem is the battery or if there is something going on with the unit itself.Since all the functions on the GPS are fine I suspect the battery.Price was great and it fit great.Can't rate more than 3 stars due to very short battery life.

They provide a How To DVD, and a small plastic tool. That's all you need! Follow the steps on the DVD, using the plastic tool to pries open the case. Extract the old battery, and replace with the new. Tuck the wire in, and close the case. That's it! Saved me about $150

I chose this particular replacement battery because it came with a "how-to" video disc and also the tool needed to remove the back of the GPS ( though it's easy to find the video online, and you could probably use a nail file or a plastic picnic knife to remove the back if you had to). Removing the GPS back and changing the battery was fairly straightforward. My old battery was really well stuck in place and I had to wiggle the removal tool underneath it in order to pry the battery out. The battery was bending as I pulled on it, so it was a relief when it broke free. When you unplug the old battery, remember which way the plug sits - white wire on the left and red wire on the right, if you've got the GPS orientated as in the video. The plug is really tiny and fragile and you don't want to be pressing down on it if it's not situated properly. Snapping the back into place was a breeze. The advantage of this battery replacement is that there are no tiny little screws to remove.

WONDERFUL! Took a bit to ship but once arrived everything was exactly as promised. Difficult to open Garmin but once open with the help of a small screwdriver, battery replacement was quite simple. Kind of like shucking an oyster. Sadly, after buying in 2010 this product was service discontinued by Garmin. Guess with all that is available today to navigate, I will not be a Garmin return customer. Something to think about.Thank you New Power! Recommend to all. Ken K

Replaced my dying Garmin GPS battery with this product and the "new" battery was no better than the dying old one. After fully charging the new battery it drops in power within seconds of using the GPS. A waste of money.
