Wow! Sweet knife
Given as a gift! He loves it, his wife (my daughter) states it is very sharp and intimidating.

My favorite knife
This quality knife performs beautifully and it remains sharp as long as any knife. It has a thinner kerf than many alternatives so it feels nimble and lightweight. I prefer the handle to squared-up designs. Absolutely no fatigue. With this capable knife, prep tasks are a pleasure. Please don't purchase this implement unless you plan to sharpen it properly or professionally. It supports an alarmingly sharp edge and with occasional maintenance it stays that way.

Chef knife
Super sharp knife. We have honed it a few times and it continues to be a perfect tool for the kitchen.

Awesome knife
Gave this to my son. Huge hit. To start with, The knife is beautiful. The Damascus steel and wooden handle are simply gorgeous. But the five star part of this review is all about the blade, steel, and sharpness. Our family loves to cook and we have many knives from many manufacturers. So far this one rises to the top. Highly recommended.

Sharp
It was dangerously sharp out the box. It’s very brittle but can hold an edge. Needs a cover. Very nice!

Quality Product
The media could not be loaded. This kitchen knife is certainly by far one of the finest blades I have in the kitchen. Would highly recommend quality chefs knife to their cutlery collection. The handle and the ergonomics, the blade, the hardness and the angle in which it was finely honed, added to the quality of the product. Would highly recommend Shun products to anyone.

This knife scares me (in a good way)
Got this Japanese knife after binge-watching The Bear and realizing our kitchen knives were basically sharpened butter sticks. Gave it to my husband for our 30th anniversary because nothing says "I still love you" like a blade so sharp it could cut tension at a family dinner. This thing doesn’t slice—it glides. I dropped it on a potato and it cut clean through. I sneezed near an onion and it diced itself out of respect. I’m convinced it has a soul.Husband says it’s the best gift I’ve ever gotten him, which is great, but also… suspicious? He’s been looking at everything in the kitchen like it’s a challenge. Bread, cardboard, the cutting board—it all trembles.

The price is right.
The 8 inch Shun handles very well. Just received it yesterday but have use it to slice vegetables and thinly sliced a piece of meat.
