Had this for almost a month now. It was delivered within 5 days. No assembly. Setting the chime to match the time is a bit daunting. The instructions on this don't work. You must go through all the chime to reach the correct chime by setting the large hand of the clock before the hour then pushing it past the hour until the time matches the number of chimes. The case is solid wood - although unable to tell what kind of wood due to the very dark mahogany color varnish coating. It looks good to me. The pendulum swings without any ticking sound. It is brassy in appearance and very thin. Each hour the clock sounds a Westminster chime and chimes out the hour. The chime does not sound as good as many mechanical chiming clocks I've heard - it is a bit 8 bit sounding. But it still presentable. There is no 15 minute or half hour chime. The chime can be silenced at night between midnight and through 5 AM. So the last chime is 11 PM and the first chime is 6 AM. There are separate battery compartments for the chime mechanism and the clock. So you could remove the chime batteries and have the clock operate without a chime.The clock is hung on the wall using a large ring on the back of the clock. It is a good value and an affordable price.

Nice wood case pendulum swings very strong. Only issue is the finial was loose in the box and attaches with nails about as big as a staple. Finial could have been designed a little bit better. Might eventually have to glue it to the wood case. Seems to be keeping good time. No way to silence chime during day so I removed the batteries . Decided to purchase the 4 year warranty just in case.

This clock is very attractive and keeps time well. The Westminster chimes sound nice. The first chime is at 6:00 a.m. and the last at 9:00 p.m., which is fine. But when watching TV, we have to pause the program because we can't hear it when the clock chimes.I wish there was a way to set it to chime just during the day and not in the evening.

Great clock ... But no explanation of chiming mechanism... We had to wing it.

Unpacked to find it broken. This was suppose to be a gift.

nice a few nicks bur was taken care of. Would buy again.
