I had one of the first versions of this after seeing the inventor on Shark Tank years ago. With a new iPad, I found myself cupping my hand around the speaker to hear the sound better. Then I remembered my old Sound Bender. I was so glad to seeit is still available. So simple. So inexpensive. It just clips to the side of the ipad by magnets, to direct the sound toward you rather than away from you. Can’t believe Apple hasn’t incorporated this idea right into the iPad. Sadly I see that the inventor has passed away. I hope his family is benefitting from his product.

Over all the product is a waste of money. Yeah the sound was amplified but by a small amount. There wasnt much of a difference. Dont waste your money on this.

it is seemingly indestructible, so I guess they used the better polycarbonate. And it DOES amplify the meager sound output of the iPad. The magnets holding it could be a tad stronger, it it easy to knock the thing to the floor without knowing, but you don't have to worry whether it survived the fall...it did. Value high. Cost too high.

The ad for for this product says that it will increase the volume by up to five times. At best it raised the volume by very little; less than doubling the volume. Furthermore, if you have a cover to protect your iPad then this thing is totally useless as it won’t fit on the iPad.

I love the idea of this. I am a teacher and I use it in my classroom on my iPad to project the sound. It DOES project the sound, but just not a ton. It is definitely better than using the iPad without it. My students can't hear it at all without this device, but they still have to strain their ears a bit. For 12 bucks, it was worth it for a quick fix that works okay.

It technically works... it won’t fit if you have a case on which is fair. But also it’s very cheap plastic and the magnets are very weak. Not sure if the weak magnets are to prevent screen damage or not so I won’t fault them for that but the plastic hook broke after a week.

I like it. I made my own, but it was falling apart. A lot of complaints are that it won’t work if you have a case. I check the measurements and found I needed to make a 2 mm cut on Each side of my leather case (I added a reinforcement stitch - I don’t think I needed too) and it fits perfectly. Sound is perfect now for those low quality audio you tube vids. This is not to amp up the music at a party.

I am always frustrated by the muffled sound coming from my iPad even at full volume..so was I ever happy when I found this little device! It really makes a huge difference in amplifying the sound. The only problem was that shortly after receiving it one of the little arms easily broke off (I'm sure it was my fault). Fortunately, it stays put along with a magnet, so it did not affect the sound at all and it stays on just fine. Highly recommend the product!!
