Hoover WH20401 FloorMate SteamScrub Pro Hard Floor Steam Mop

My 2500 sq ft contemporary home with large dogs in Florida has epoxy coated concrete floors, a little tile and few area rugs. It is great to be able to quickly and effectively clean the floor. This product does a very good job cleaning my floors but it is not as good as the previous model. I cannot speak to cleaning carpeting.I owned 2 of the previous Hoover "twin tank" mops and was very pleased with them. The previous model I owned broke due to the tanks not fitting properly after it accidentally fell over a few times. The previous model is very top heavy and easily falls over. Do not leave either model upright when changing outlet locations. The other previous model I owned failed due to the handle breaking in half. I saved the first model as parts to fix the second. 4 stars instead of 5 for the previous model because of the cheap construction. The new model is lighter due to changing to a small single split tank for the cleaning solution and water. Worse for me due to my situation but, if you are cleaning a small area this is better. The new model has thicker cleaning pads which is also worse for me because I have to run steam for a minute to heat the pad - hotter pad, cleaner floor. Fortunately I can use the older cleaning pads with the newer model. The newer model is better engineered. No tools required for assembly. Press button and remove the tank rather than pull hard to remove the older tanks. Both models require holding the trigger down rather than press for on then press again for off. To avoid this, save the twist tie in the cord packaging and twist it around near the trigger. Pull the twist tie towards the trigger for on then push the twist tie away from the trigger for off. The new model is also a little flimsy so do not put too much pressure on it when cleaning. Also, not stated in the instructions, moisten the pad prior to cleaning.

The only benefit of this machine is the way to can power steam the grout. Otherwise, you are just keeping dirty water on the floor. I suggest the Hoover Floormate Deluxe. I bought this as a replacement and it was a mistake. I should have returned it, but I used it anyway. I refer to it as my fancy grout cleaner.

This steamer mop surprised me by having a s rubber too. Well worth the money.

Easy to use, makes me WANT to clean! I really like this product.

Works as advertised no problems at all.

It worked well for a few weeks but then the plastic handle broke where the aluminum pipe ends. Bit of a design flaw. Only other issue is the steam doesn't cover as much as it could because of the plastic attachment. Other then those two issues I do like it after I rigged up the handle.

Good unit. A little heavier than others but also a much better buy. Bought this as a replacement for a unit that broke after 5 years. In many ways this is a better unit.

This works really well. I really like the shape of the head, it's good for getting around most things. You need to give it time to heat up and then spray a bunch, but once it gets going it's great. The carpet attachment is a neat feature, but as the instructions say, it's more for "freshening up" you carpets/rugs. It doesn't really get any of the dirt out. It doesn't matter though because I bought it for the floors, not the rug.

Does a great job. I will say the water leaks alot when off, if the mop head is not placed onto it. Besides this it's pretty good
