If you are planning to store a liquid in the container, you should keep the container upright to prevent leaking. the lid is not very air/liquid tight. i would not lay the container on its side for liquid or dry goods storage as the content weight could push the lid open and make a mess. i use for brining meat (turkey) inside a refrigerator or cooler and always upright.I purchased the container & lid on amazon for my personal use. i am not compensated for this review.

If you've cleaned dishes before, it won't be a problem. If you've never cleaned dishes...Durability, 5/5: It's been a few months of repeatedly opening the lid about once a day and it has been holding up well. If you intend to use it more frequently, I can see the durability wearing out eventually but luckily the price isn't bad when it comes time for replacement.Sturdiness, 4/5: It is a soft plastic lid and most likely so to allow it to be easily installed/removed on the food container it pairs with. On that note, I feel like it could've been made a bit sturdier as I can see the edges wearing out fast due to how much it can bend with how soft the lid is.I used this lid for a 22qt food container which can be looked up under "Cambro 22SFSP148 White Poly 22 Qt CamSquare," otherwise there are also 12qt and 18qt sizes that fit too. If it doesn't fit, get a replacement as it's most likely a manufacturing defect.

A perfect fit on the container we bought. Just disappointed it had to be purchased separately. But very sturdy and a great fit.

The last lid I bought for the Cambro container was exceedingly difficult to put on and never sealed well since the corners never quite closed. This one is pretty loose and doesn't seal well generally. I had holed in the first lid for a fermenting airlock and bought this as a replacement without the hole.I have other Cambro round containers with good tight fitting lids. The square container lids seem to be a work in progress where you never know what the fit will be.

Fit my 12 qt Camwear (the clear one) container perfectly. I cut a hole in one of the corners of the lid to accommodate my Anova sous vide devise. This was easily done with a knife and a pair of scissors.The lid I received is the blue that is pictured, not purple as others apparently received. Also of note is the fact that the sticker came off easily and in one piece by just using my fingernail to get underneath and then slowly removing the sticker. I don't know why some other reviewers have had issues with the fit, color and the sticker as I had none. Maybe the company listened to its customers and corrected these issues. If so, a thank you to the reviewers before me.

I already had the bin and had just been using it to store grocery bags. Now that I have this lid, I am storing a 25 lb bag of bread flour.

This is sturdy and can be slightly altered to provide a portal for the immersion pump of a sous vide slow cooking heater. All I had was a scalpel and a #15 blade. Works great! Needn't buy polycarbonate, either, unless having something you must clean especially well to preserve crystal clear container attracts you to spend more money. Inkbird works great, by the way.
