The ABUS 145/30 C is a 30mm body combination padlock featuring a 3-dial resettable code system, available in a variety of eye-catching colors. Its simplistic design ensures ease of use, making it a top choice for secure yet stylish protection.

Don't leave it in your car.
This is definitely an indoor lock as the internal parts will corrode, making it difficult to operate or potentially seize altogether. The shackle is very thin gauge so maybe don't use it to lock expensive items in your gym locker.Otherwise, it had served it's purpose.

Better than no lock
Very easy to set, seems well made and fits the locker well. I would have liked another mm of thickness on the shackle, 7 instead of 6. Also it doesnβt sink in very far to the body. But good so far as a light duty lock.

Sturdy lock! Hard to pick!
This is a good lock, I forgot the combination and spent two hours fiddling with it to remember what the combination was. I got it open with a combination (ha, lock puns) of vaguely remembering at least two of the digits and some lock decoding tricks online. There is *very* few videos online of how to "decode" this lock which is a plus for anyone who is securing things against people who have *no* idea of any of the numbers. This lock apparently has "false gates" which basically means it tricks you to think you've found a good number when you haven't.There is no such thing as a perfect and unbeatable lock; but this one would require an amateur the free time to look up the *two* YouTube videos that exist (one in German one in English) and then fiddle with the lock for at least one or two hours before decoding it. This assuming they don't have something that can just cut through the steel of course.Definitely a good purchase to use for "semi casual" levels of security. I use it with my PacSafe security bag so it just has to protect against casual theft by housekeeping or someone who follows housekeeping into the room. In theory there won't be a thief who has access and all the tools out in the open but one never knows!

A bit more secure for not much more
Do yourself a favor and look at videos that describe how to decode combination locks. Even worse are the models which you can completely bypass. No lock is perfect, but a bunch are very easy to open. For a few bucks more this lock hopefully makes other targets more tempting.

Value for money
Good size. Easy to set. Digits turn easily and do get stuck.

Clunky and hard to set
The numbers don't really click into place very well and the score line that you have to line them up on is really hard to see.

Where was this made?
Nowhere on the packaging I got did it say what country made the lock was made. It referenced a US address and how ABUS is designed in Germany. I am hoping it was made pretty-much anywhere other than China. In the mean time this was easy to set my combination and simple to use. It will work well for my gym locker.

Hardened shackle and good for low risk applications, but made in China, not Germany
These are pretty decent low-security locks. Resetting the combination is simple and fast and works in the same way as most manufacturers with similar self-setting combination padlocks. These are however made in China and not Germany as the description indicates. I contacted the manufacturer and they're updating their product pages to reflect this, but the description on Amazon is also equally wrong. Abus assured that these meet the same specifications and testing as their German-made counterparts, but the tolerances are still not super tight. (By comparison, the 4 digit version of this feels crisper on the dials and the shackle has less play.) There is no TSA keyway or access for this lock.I did take a file to the shackle and it does confirm to be hardened steel which is nice for a lock of this size. It still could be easily cut with larger bolt cutters, but is a deterrent to some and makes it less likely at someplace like on a gym bag or small box. They also appear to have false gates making decoding or normal 'picking' methods slower. However, with just a three digit combination, a brute force attack where you simply try every combination would take about 15-20 minutes. Helpful if you ever forget the combination and why this should also be considered for low-security applications. In summary, this appears to be a better lock than most more cheaply made Chinese locks you'll find on other brands and at this price-point, but it is still not to be used as anything more than a deterrent on low-risk items. Stars removed for the manufacturing description inaccuracies and lose tolerances.

Easy to use but so-so lock
I wasn't expecting a super secure lock from a wheel combination lock but Abus is a pretty good name.1. The body itself is solid although the colour was more red than orange.2. The shackle locking mechanism is pretty flimsy - there's no hasp on the open side at all.3. The wheels are pretty easy to decode.4. When the lock is open you can't reset the wheels. This is probably fine for very light applications (like lock out/tag out scenarios) but pretty weak physically. Again, it's an $11 lock so not expecting miracles, but you're probably better off getting the cheaper 3 wheel combo lock since there's minimal extra security with this 'heavier' 4-wheel model. If security it important look elsewhere.

Inexpensive, insubstantial, insecure.
This is not the kind of lock you trust with protecting valuables. It may be fine for a gym locker room, but anything more than that and I'd move up to a heavier duty lock. The shackle only fits into the body by 3 mm. It is of the style of "TSA Approved" (though it isn't) luggage locks kind rather than a true locking shackle. That is, the shackle only locks into the mechanism on one side, and the other side merely sits inside a hole in the lock body to prevent it from turning. The body is made of lightweight metal, not heavy duty steel, and the combination dials feel loose. You can see between the dials and the body when you look at it closely, meaning anyone with enough time to handle your lock for 30 seconds without looking suspicious would be able to brute force-guess the combination. What's worse is that they can then reset the combination, making it look like you're the one trying to break in, thus delaying your ability to determine if something is missing from your gear and do something about it.I'd use this as a literally lightweight lock for traveling to the gym, but I wouldn't trust it to protect anything I'm not willing to risk replacing.

Great lock with above average protection
Abus is well-known in the lock-picking community for making great products. This follow this trend. It's easy to configure and resist most conventional locking techniques used to bypass a lock. Basically if the thief is not equipped with specialized tools (or chemicals), he will not be able to bypass this lock and will have to move on to another.I liked this lock so much I got a second one. These are now our preferred lock for the gym and the pool.Aluminum body makes it lightweight, and the colouring and branding are well done. This does not look or feel cheap. If you are looking for a lock that will give you peace of mind, this is it.

Strong well built and easy to use combination lock
This Lock is easy to setup and use, it is well built and feel sturdy. I am using it on my gym locker and it works great, the wheels are small for my large fingers but I sometimes use my finger nail to move them which is not a big deal for me. I love the yellow color I got as it looks nice and very visible in identifying my locker from a distance.Great lock for the price, thanks Amazon.

Absolutely tiny locks
These are really only suitable as very light duty locks for luggage or to prevent tampering. very small, thin shackle would not be a challenge for most tools. Simple 3-wheel combo is similarly easy to decode and there's no locking pawl on one side of the shackle.Easy to reset combination as needed.Perfectly suited for light-duty applications but that's it.
